For the 1st house hunters, the mystery house was the most expensive but it was still below budget and definitely worth the price with the extra land, swimming pool and caravan perfect for an office, guest accommodation or even income potential. It already has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the inside plus a space above the living room perfect for an office. I will make some cosmetic changes to the house especially the kitchen, putting a smaller island but the 10k saved would easily cover that. I loved the seperation of some of the rooms, giving privacy. Additionally compared to the 2nd house that had a bit of road noise, the mystery house was more quiet and private.
For the 2nd house hunters, the mystery house would have been my choice as well. However I will turn it into an upside down layout to maximise the upstairs views. I will turn one of the double bedrooms into a kitchen dinner and the wardrobes will be utility room, then the other double will be the sitting room with a toilet in the wardrobe to avoid going downstairs to use one. The current dinning and kitchen I will turn into a master bedroom and make the family bathroom ensuite then the current living room would be a guest room with a wet room. This will not only make the house work better but it will increase it's resell value.
