The main concern a lot of people have when mounting an aftermarket wheel on the G29 is motor life and weight of what's mounted. The biggest drawback of doing this may be weight. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you bro, i've followed your steps and i upgraded my Logitech wheel, it very nice honestly since the Logitech board is in front of the wheel not behind it. Great video dear.
Very cool modification. Do you feel that the FFB was effected in anyway? It definitely looks that it translates the FFB to the wheel better than the popular adapter that goes over the buttons.
@MB992 very useful video and I am lucky to come across it. My biggest issue is to find a suitable wheel. I live in UK and the cheapest option is almost £30 including postage. Also are all wheels compatable (shape, screw position etc.). I would I appreciate if someone could share a link for a suitable wheel.
@@MarkBrave992 getting this printed this week, really excited 😌 but one thing I wanted to know, don’t you need the screws to the back of the base plate of the button box or does it hold fine without them ?
I did this mod to a G29 and it reduced the rotaional speed because the wheel rim weighs more so now the motors have more mass they need to rotate thus reducing the output from the motors as more weight acts as a damper the exact oposite to what you want to do to the wheel as more damper affect the less you feel details from the force feedback. remember the G29 and such are only rated for around 2.5nm of force so any extra weight will reduce that down, personally I see this mod as paying to downgrade the feedback feeling of the wheel.
That is very cool indeed, was just wondering what wheel you used and unless i am missing something, i don't seem to find a link for it in the description, in the thingverse page or in the video. More weight from a bigger rim will act as a damper reducing power output from the motors as they will now have to work harder because of the extra rotational mass, remember the G29 and such is only rated around the 2.5nm mark for the power output so more wight will reduce that down, you cant escape physics.
