Great video bro! Will definitely mod mine, I always thought just getting a heavier shiftknob would make the shifts more rigid since you have to put some extra effort in moving it around, what's your experience?
The heavy knob feels better in hand but the mechanism inside the logitech shifter isn't designed for a heavy knob so it doesn't feel as satisfying as it would if you put the knob in an actual car if that makes sense. I like the feel of the metal knob over the one that comes with the shifter but it may be too heavy, the delrin knob is probably better if you're putting it on the logitech shifter
From my experience, the shift tension mod you did will break in 1-2 months… that’s why i ended up just preloading the spring inside of the shifter to increase resistance.
@@victordeleon8412 I just kind of did it my self, it’s a spring internal to the shifting mechanism. I wouldn’t take it apart unless you are somewhat mechanically inclined. Lmk if you have any questions.
The expense comes from the quality partly and the separate knob and collar system. If you follow throtl on instagram and their other social medias they have discounts on the knobs from time to time
Thanks for the video i just got my first steering wheel (Logitech G920) and a shifter (Logitech shifter in this video) and im going to see how i like and then modify it. Also arent you apart of the Throtl team?
I dont know what the warranty is, you'd have to read them on the original packaging or on the logitech website. But its pretty easy to put "back to stock" if you need to do a warranty claim
4:26 Thats what she said. Hey bro can you sell me the shifter? I pay paypal. Lmk. Edit: lol you actually have a “thats what she said” joke in there but you missed the first one.
It’s been installed for over over a few months and still working strong. The delrin knobs are lighter than the original so that’s a good choice if you’re worried about longevity
I would of stayed away from Logitech completely if i knew then what i know now, save up get at least a T300 wheel, even a cheap Amazon shifter is better then Logitech's
@@victordeleon8412 I just finished modding the shifter, i added more preload to the spring that pushes the ball bearing, simply buy adding a hobby r/c car hex blot that fit into the spring making it a spacer, greased it with silicone grease, now the forward and back are a lot stiffer, over all smoother, some moders were selling a peace of plastic to put in there for 10$ which did not use the spring, basically flexing the plastic that holds it together obviously a bad idea, but i still wish it was gated.
There’s a spring mod you can add to that setup that you already have, that would help out alot
The adapter for the knob, is it universal? Does it fit any knob or just throtle knobs?
^^^^^^ im not boutta pay 160 bucks for a shift knob for my 60 dollar shifter

i like d the mod but it basically shattered after a few weeks while it was new it worked great i think a metal version would work better
i also remove the shift boot because i felt the leather was provoking miss shifts
Can I have it?
Do you need an adapter to use that shifter? Because I ordered mine on eBay, and it arrives today.
If you only have the shifter you do need an adapter to use it . Get leo bodnar logitech shifter usb adapter .
I only found a M10 x 1.5 and i dont know much but will that work?

Great tip. The mod is still working but id like to add the spring mod you mentioned. I didn't even know there was one

Can you help me ? Im mechanically retarded. I need someone to do it for me. I pay $100.
@@RG-si1qz At that point just return the shifter and buy a TH8A.
@@victordeleon8412 There is a mod by customsim which replaces a spring with a 3d printed piece which stiffens up the shifter.
why the shift knobs so expensive i was gonna cop some but saw the price

Hey, the big thread is M10, but what's the small thread? M4?
Im not sure. The adapter I bought didn't specify the thread but maybe if you Google it you could find out

don't waste your money on this BS, it will break in a few months, and you will be picking the plastic pieces out of you shifter

The Logitech was the lowest cost of entry for a decent product that was compatible with my Xbox series X. I do agree the shifter is very weak feeling
