So until Syndicate people where constantly complaining about how repetitive this franchise was and they believed that Ubisoft needed to kill it. But now that the devs gave a completely new spin to the game the same people are bitching because this game is not "AC enough". Basically, at this point, people are bitching for the sake of bitching.
Overlord 89 I think they have a solid point, they just can’t express it well enough.
The devs are definitely distancing themselves from the tired formula of the past games. It worked well on Origins. But, what I think most people are upset about, is that this is (from what we’ve seen) a bit too far from the game’s roots.
In Origins, it was the start of the brotherhood. It made sense that it wasn’t as assassin-y because it was the beginning. This one is much more focused on being a warrior (as evidenced by the new encounter: fighting wars). There are obviously still elements from the past games but it wasn’t communicated properly since they framed it as a full-fledged RPG.
Personally, I think the game looks great. Looks very similar to Origins at times but I’m definitely looking forward to playing it.
I see your point. And believe me, I wasn't referring to you in my comment just as I wasn't referring to all the other people that, like you, are capable of constructive criticism. I was referring to the "complaint brigade" that doesn't really care about criticism but it's just looking for an excuse to attack the game, regardless of which changes are adopted by the developers.
Most people liked syndicate. Only problem was the plot
The plot is exactly the reason why I am interested in this game. I mean let's face it, the quality of the writing in AC games it's been in constant decline since AC3, exception made for Black Flag of course. They wasted one extremely interesting historical period after another, with poorly developed plots, even in Origins, which I quite enjoyed, most of the dialogues were extremely simplistic. But the fact that the devs have been calling Odyssey a narrative-driven RPG and the addition of dialogue choices really makes me think (or at least hope) that, this time, they have focused most of their efforts on the writing of the game. Especially because the gameplay is just a refined version of the one present in Origins.
Overlord 89
It's always been like that. Bitchers never change.
The graphics are nice but are we a warrior or an assassin?
Let's face it. Assassin's Creed died with Desmond in AC 3.
And being dead it makes more money than you ever will being alive.
AuronN you are just copying your own comments
We could be playing as the founder of the Templars, like Origins being the beginning of the Assasins. But thats just an idea.
Nhan Do cool idea
I feel like they're taking the "Assassin" out of Assassin's Creed.
LeBronze James yea let's just ignore the hidden blades and the fact that we havent seen the whole story yet so he could be an assassin
Madara 1096 he's not an assassin though this takes place hundreds of years before origins so there's no Creed and no brotherhood
Jester 319 I'd say he's an assassin, but not an Assassin.
Madara 1096 the hidden ones haven't exists yet
And the "creed"
it's nice to see that AC Origins is still getting story DLC
what is your problem? Cod and bf are always the same so what?
and people like you are the reason why
ExistSaiyan your attention to detail is just blowing my mind. It’s the same exact game just re skinned for Greece...
bandito_x 9 most sequels do that
bandito_x 9 every assasin was a re-skin, games like fallout, cod,bf, fifa are re-skins, so i dont understand your frustration
at this point, why would anyone complain honestly? assassin's creed has long since lost the allure of "being an assassin that fights in the dark to protect the light". I'm okay with that. because now we're given "being an ancient warrior" simulators and that is really cool. I like being ancient warriors in Greece and Egypt and wherever else they might want to take us. I understand the complains, but I consider them pointless. if you like the series, support it. if you don't, feel free to replay ac: brotherhood.whatever the case, I'll be getting this game. so will many other people.
Wow, so much logic. Lol
Fully Agreed
Remember the thrill of assassinating someone with a hidden blade and actually feeling like you’ve just killed someone in the first AC? I miss that..
I do too brother.
LiDod20 same here..
Taking out assassinations was a mistake
Jared Haught they didnt take it away its still there
Jared Haught What are you talking about? They will be there.
No mention of Kratos 1/10
Why would they mention a minor Greek mythological character? :p
Because he was born in sparta
Who said he was born in Sparta? :p
ShaolinDreams
The story of God Of War did. I have an XBox, and even I know that.
That game was altering who Kratos was.. He wasn't no God of War, he didn't beat Ares and he wasn't born in Sparta.. So there's really isn't any point mentioning him in this game.
As a very critical gamer I must admit I can't see why people are complaining. Do you real miss the grind of the "old AC games"?
This game looks like an amazing step in the right direction, it features so many core AC mechanics so it still looks and feels very much like an AC game, while innovating A LOT by turning it into a more vivd, choice based and diverse experience.
Seriously, last year you were complaining about all AC games being lazy, grinding and repetitive, why are you upset this time? Do you really miss the grind of AC: Syndicate?
By complaining about every single game they release or announce, including the very promising ones, you actually PROMOTE the release of repetitive and "more of the same games" by proving the developers who, after all, seek to maximise their profits, that leaving their comfort zone by listening to their fans is risky and controversial.
True
It's cool to be edgy I guess.
That, and selective memory is a thing. I bet if Odyssey went back to the same formula used from Brotherhood to AC4, the whiners would complain about the game being unoriginal.
Ihsan Husandi
First off, I've played through the entire franchise, and while AC II had a decent plot and a lovely world, the gameplay mechanics were very primitive and repetitive, even for its time. I mean, you can't deny that it featured countless copy-pasted side quests such as races and "Borgia Towers".
Secondly, you don't have to swear like a 10 year old just because you disagree with me. If you think you have a worthwhile argument, try to prove me wrong by presenting and explaining it instead of preaching and swearing.
Amit Lars personally i loved Origins and got My platinum in about a week or so.
Origins was the game to Bring me back from not playing since the second game.
Love the new direction with more rpg/loot mechanics and more focus in action.
I also Love how they did not Force me to use the animus this time, never liked the animus parts.
Much, much more fun.
Mikael Olsson
Exactly. Love the new direction the franchise is taking, and I don't feel like it's losing its identity, not even a tiny bit.
God damn.... nothing to do with Assassins Creed anymore. They should just give it a new Name....
Edit: Thank God I‘m not the only one with this opinion....
Rizzy Sose was thinking the same, just rename it or something
Rizzy Sose how can you say it has nothing to do with assassins creed when you haven't even played the game and seen the whole story yet
Exactly my friend. Ubishit can’t use another name cause this garbage won’t sell well after all
Madara 1096 because you can already see in what direction the game aims. I just watched some gameplays They released a couple minutes ago and it good yes, but its no assassins creed anymore. The roleplay aspects are very welcome, But the gameplay direction and the Story is just wrong.
ITS IN THE SAME UNIVERSE STOP BITCHING
bruh....I hope the story is solid cause this looks like a reskin
Mr CrossEmUp the most popular games in the series were all reskins to
Mr CrossEmUp the majority of games that have sequels are reskin’s
and I dont buy them unless the story is interesting enough to keep my attention.
So you didn't buy Revelations, AC3, AC4 and Rogue because they were reskins of Brotherhood?
Only one I played after Brotherhood was Unity and Origins...i wanted to play Revelations but never got around to play it.
May be early days in development, but this doesn't look that different from Origins.
Josh DeLaRosa its not meant to. Why change be the game massively hen people liked origins?
It's been in development for 3 years and releasing next October
Madara 1096 that “if it aint broke dont fix it” is what killed the assassins creed franchise in its earlier games. id bet my whole house that ubisoft is just gonna keep recycling ac origin clones every single year until people start complaining again.
Madara 1096 I don’t mean “change” by way of a massive overhaul to the gameplay, just visually it looks the same as Origins. I feel like the Egypt and Greece settings are very similar and make the two games appear identical to one another.
ReviewsOfTime how did the old games style kill the series? Ask any fans of the whole series and 90% of them will say the games should have stayed he way they were back then. They still complain the games have changed to much
I’m going to say something controversial so if you like this game please don’t get offended, we’re all allowed different opinions.
How is this even an Assassin’s Creed game? It’s a prequel to Origins, and Origins was about the beginning of the Assassin Brotherhood. This just feels like a reskin honestly, which I wouldn’t be surprised if it was as Greece was cut content from Origins. I’m also willing to bet money that none of these dialogue options will have any real effect on the characters or world. I feel like this game would be much better if it was a new IP with no AC elements like hidden blades or free running. I don’t know, I liked Origins, but this game makes no sense and feels like a cash grab.
SAMCRO JT Fan it’s about a mercenary with a piece of Eden, (that’s what the spear of leonidas is) and the modern day story will be connected. I’ll bet that the villains of the story will end up being templars, they always do
+1
Yobfish just because it's in AC universe, that doesn't mean it has to be an AC game. They can make a new IP like Watch Dogs
Also this game is 4 years in the making
Brotherhood And Revelations Is A Reskin Of Ac 2 And Ac4, Ac Rogue, Is A Reskin Of Ac3, Syndicate Is A Reskin Of Unity
This game looks AMAZING. Definitely going to pre order
As a big fan of the series, its sad to see it move away from the core values that made "Assassins" Creed a great game, From Altair to Ezio to Kenway, Connor and Desmond the game was amazing. Now its something different entirely no longer the game series i adored for a long long time.
Plus the new combat system is garbage too
Althought Unity's plot wasn't so good, gameplay and missions were solid 10.
Hussain Imam From Shay to Arno
I agree, I really hate the new combat system. It was just fine the way it was before.
Yup, AC is turning into hack n' slash + open world rpg. The actual assassin part of these games are fading away it seems. No more co-op, no more multiplayer, no more focus on stealth and taking your enemies out quick and quietly.
This is not assassin's creed. This is some random sparta rpg with an assassin logo on the front. Apart from the logo, what makes it assassin's creed?! No stealth, no hidden blade, no parkour, no hoods and no relation to anything that makes assassin's creed assassin's creed. So disappointing
Toby 98 idk about hidden blade im pretty sure it’ll have it only no hood and we don’t know the relation to assassins yet
They’ll not just make a game about a spartan with assassin skills there has to be a relation but we just haven’t seen it yet
Toby 98 well there are hoods lol
Dr Eric Berg yes!
So you know that after watching 20 mins of gameplay?
All these negatives, what about the excellent facial animation and voice acting? What about the enticing environment? Expanded upon RPG elements? Looks like an overall improvement to me.
How is this even about Assassins anymore?
TheAirdrop1 the main character is most likely an assassin
TheAirdrop1 how is it not
Madara 1096 Yeah that's the problem, "Most Likely" an Assassin. We shouldn't have to assume
Well there's no hidden blade, no stealth, no mention of assassins anywhere , they've said the main protagonist is a spartan mercenary, not an assassin and in all the gameplay and talks they've done about it don't mention any form of a brotherhood. Just seems like its a spartan story with an eagle to me ...
Well, Assassin's Creed is not about Assassins only. Pieces of Eden and The Ones Who Came Before legacy is the connecting point. Accept it or not, that's what it is.
Stop complaining, we all know you guys are still going to buy this game regardless.
AC Origins Odyssey... literally a reskin
Well what were you expecting? Did you think Ubisoft would throw out all the great work they did on Origins? All the AC games have built on what came before. The only game to majorly change the game assets was AC3 which completely revamped everything.
iWillWakeYouUp I wish they would follow up to unity
Adnan what are you drinking man that game was awful. That’s like saying you want a sequel to AC3
Joebobcrazy some people liked it some people didn't
Adnan sorry I’m looking back at my comment and it was needlessly aggressive, sorry
Good, but definitely fix the clunky running animations and face animations. But apart from that, all good.
HouskenWang ShadowSlayer the animations are good
It seems that the mouth animations and expressions don’t exactly merge with the voice acting attitude and tone.
Madara 1096 the expressions should really be fixed.
HouskenWang ShadowSlayer b
Yeah, agreed. Origins looked the same way to me. Hope this gets better.
The blood decals look sweet. Why do they disappear so quickly? Show the mess! I want to enjoy the aftermath of battle.
iWillWakeYouUp
Than go play total war
So you can have 1000s of dead bodies
On one screen and enjoy their defeat
While marching your army around
The dead bodies 🤱🏽
...Malàka..... haha wtf great start xD
I hate the fact you can choose who you play as cuz it means there is no solid character that can be referred to in other games ffs
This is the dumbest move ubisoft has ever pulled in AC
Jonathan Vella Agree, the story should be fixed so the lore can fit in with the next game
I think, or at least hope, that it will be a situation where there was, say it was Alexio in history, but Layla is able to use animus hacks to allow her to use Kassandra instead. It seems like this is what they were planning in Origins with Bayek and Aya but didn't do it.
KFC Bagles well if the character is technically not an Assassin then they wouldn’t be mentioned in the future anyway. In another IGN video an editor said that this is the story of the conflict between the Assassin’s principals & The Templars Principals, Freedom & Order
Should have made a Bayek Sequel in a new part of the world
The soundtrack of this game is lit and I don't care what og ac lore junkies says this game is amazing
I don't like the fact that they continue to use the "Ezio's Family" theme in the newer games.
I know right its annoying af I wish composers would just be creative and make their own tunes ffs
I think its fine as long as its earned. It wasnt earned here. I know its called 'ezios family' but it is so damn good that im fine with it
Forreal it’s disrespectful honestly
Man look......the assanins creed syndicate game takes place in 19th century london......now if we keep continuing the years...it will happen in modern era or future...let it first release....okay?
I’m going to disagree. ‘Ezio’s Family’ will *ALWAYS* be a reoccurring theme (with variation depending on cultural instruments used) because it resembles the ‘family’ that Ezio was part of: The assassin’s/people that fought for freedom and for truth.
Also comes to show how iconic Ezio was to the franchise.
Christ, the lip snyc looks like it's from 2005, what the hell ubisoft?!
The game is still in development, there's obviously gonna be some kinks in this play through before the full game is released, calm yourself.
Prometheus II I get what you’re saying, but come on let’s be real the chances of it being changed are very minimal.
true, but I'm mainly concerned with the frame-rate issues. I've seen 4 different gameplay videos already and each had the same problem. I seriously feel that Ubisoft should've held off a little longer before revealing their new assassins creed game. It feels "forced", like they were trying to push it out as fast as possible to keep people satisfied, and that's never a good sign.
Prometheus II
What's so important about frame rate? I don't get why everyone makes such a big deal about it.
Well frame rate is all about how smoothly everything moves when playing (camera motion, character movement, etc.), it really makes a lot more of a difference than people think.
Bring back Desmond Miles.
Marc Galvan he dead as hell though
Just like the AC series, huh?
Bro, what I wouldn't give too have the homie Desmond back. When he died, I no longer liked the modern day story. Even in AC4 Black Flag where you play as you, it just didn't work without Desmond. Even now with this new modern protagonist we met in Origins, I still couldn't really get into it.
At the end of syndicate the Templars we're working on cloning and they needed the shroud to regenerate human organs and limbs. There's a possible chance that Desmond can be resurrected or cloned with the original Desmond's memories.
Marc Galvan
They could with the shroud from ACS but I think he would be like a zombie.... unless they change the lore a bit.
Origins recycled
Código Amuse and dialogue choices yaaayyyyy and origins being recycled isn't a bad thing it was enjoyable the best ac ever
Loved Origins!!
You are absolutely right, however I really enjoyed origins , so I'll give this one a shot too
shut up.
Sometimes that's not a bad thing I loved origins and if this game can be a improved origins I'll still be happy.
Love the idea of a proper rpg game set in Ancient Greece. Cautiously optimistic for this
BARNABAS kinda looks like Mel Gibson
and sounds like Cesare Borgia from AC2 ;-)
maverick2009ish Cesare Borgia was in AC Brotherhood
unfortunately Kratos killed all the Greek Gods
ExistSaiyan haha lol . Coming from a God of war fan that's funny .
I absolutely love the direction ac is going....but thats because I wasnt a fan of the first few games. I feel for the og fans cause ac hasnt been about assassins since black flag.
"Assassin's" didn't even make sense after the first one but this is just way too far.
So it's "AC Odyssey" - but you're not an Assassin, you're a mercenary, no hood, no hidden blade --- wtf are they calling it Assassin's Creed for?
Binto Head they just made a RPG and named it Assassins Creed so it gets more attention
It has hood
This game looks intruiging but I honestly prefer the older ones especially Assassin's creed 1 to 4... Origins was pretty good but this one, it dosen't feel like Assassin's Creed anymore but I will still play it because I love Assassin's Creed. :)
me too
This series is long dead. How does this garbage fit into the greater story of AC1? Sad to see what became of Altair and Desmond’s legacy.
Gilgamesh Production stop complaining you sound like a whinny child.
460mas people like you are the reason companies like EA and Ubisoft give us full priced annual DLCs instead of trying. Learn to criticize and question things that people SELL you. Companies infusing all games with the same Formular just to make a quick buck. And you are telling me to stop complaining. Just great.
The last good one in my opinion was black flag
Gilgamesh Production - And people like you are geeks lol...
barry elms tell me what you are then. You are out here on RUclips, on a gameplay trailer of a game, reading through the comments of random people and even having time to comment. Insulting is definitely the way to go buddy.
stop complaining about it being a reskin.
ac2 was a reskin of ac1
black flag was a reskin of ac3 with ships
and syndicate was a reskin of unity
stop acting like this is a new issue and deal with it
Toxic_ Hobo practically all the old games were Reskins. Origins was the first to actually change
You mean the ac brotherhood was a reskin of ac 2?? Because ac 1 and 2 are totally diferent games
Hey, AC3 had alot of bugs, and Black Flag was a much better version of it. (AC3 story was good tho) and there is a big improvement between AC2 and Ac1
Did you play the first AC and then see the second. That one was not a reskin.
They should have just took assassins creed out of the title. It should have just been called odyssey
For those who say that this is just like origins, don’t judge the game just yet. Yes, this is similar to origins at first sight, but they have implemented some interesting mechanics that actually seem really different. The only problems that I see so far is the fact that the facial animations are a little clunky and the bird looks just like senu, but I do appreciate the naval implementations.
+HouskenWang ShadowSlayer
Yeah i loved the naval battles in origins, glad theres more of an emphasis on that in this game
i'm tired of the yellow sand in origin, it's refreshing to see white sand in greece. i dont mind even if it's a reskin, the engine is good enough for 2 more future games. They put more effort and variety in main character's / NPC facial expression but not on pedestrian NPC in origin, this trailer doesnt show any of them, i kinda expect the same.
KINSLINK Greece is Very beautiful. It's known for the beautiful coastline and the bright Blue ocean. Greek history and greek mythology is vastly exciting aswell.
what are you talking about?!!?!?! this is the style of ubisoft, look at the farcry series, look at previous AC games... It's just like the apple products
Anon dude, I know that there were many assassin’s creed games that were similar. But it is still not right to say that this is an “exact copy” of origins. Yes, I know that the the franchise has become an every year thing which isn’t good. But what I’m trying to get to is that this game has a completely different story and just look at the new battle mechanics, all of these aspects make it original. I know that some of the execution animations are the same, but there is a whole new ability system and a new skill tree. Plus the naval stuff is being brought back which is really exiting and stuff. This game actually feels like the right amount of sea and land. The cities are very gorgeous and well developed meaning that people are going to spend a lot of Time on them and not just the seas. Conversation system looks promising and we get to play as a female character which is pretty cool. So yes, and no. Ubisoft is indeed getting a little repetitive but the games aren’t exactly the same. Origins was a great game and it was actually really different from the older games. Weather the game will turn out to be good or bad is another discussion.
The VAs must be Greek since the pronouncing of the names and Greek words is very fluent I wonder if there is any chance the game will be translated in Greek like God of War was
So no bayek sequel? Disappointing
Perhaps he will show up during the story you both argue over values or something he goes and starts the brotherhood and you start the templars. Just a thought most likely not true
Freki This is centuries before origins.
Ashwin Yellamraju oh nevermind
Jacob Bozzy I think it's being made by the same studio as origins so it might be awhile not sure
Charles Lee bayek was the best protagonist after ezio what are you on about his story was good his personalty was good he was funny instead of making a sequel of him they decided to make a game about two shitty character’s who are random mercenaries and got nothing to do with the assassins whatsoever
You can't really trust companies who always release games yearly or releasing two games at once in one year
Why no Japan? There really isnt any good feudal Japan open roam games out there. I was hopeing for AC to put their spin on it
In a technical standpoint, if the series is going Japan, it might take some time. Unlike Odyssey which has a similar vibe to Origins (which is probably the reason Ubisoft choose Ancient Greece as the setting, easier to make for an annual release), in terms of architectural, clothing, weaponry and environment, it's a whole different thing.
Trust me, I also want a Feudal Japan AC game.
Nathan Phan there’s 3 samurai games coming out this year (granted not all historically accurate) so it’s probably a good move from Ubi to not make a Japanese one this year
MALAKA!!!!
When is the AC franchise going to stop messing around and give us a Ninja game?
JAHRONMON When the fans stop asking about it.
Play ghost of tsushima?
So it's basically a new IP with an Assassin's Creed badge on it
Anyone else notice that Barnabas is a sage
I think he may be blind in one eye, and may not actually have heterochromia
"Mercenary's Creed: Oddyssey."
Looks more like The Witcher than The Witcher
Sunny Attias lol I tough the same but nothing comes close to the witcher 3 till now .
Except with no heart and soul put into the game just corporate greed
The face animations and hand gestures are literally exact copies
This literally makes no sense.
This game is everything I've been waiting for from Assassin's Creed and the wait was so, so worth it. This will be my personal favourite for a long time. I'm so glad they went ahead with Odyssey.
5 years later and now every hater has fallen in love with it ❤
@@MahmoudNader Not every hater
So there just gonna make any game and give it an AC title?
Stop complaining about Assassins Creed games. This looks pretty good. If it didn't have AC in the title half of you would be praising this game....
Horde or die your right, but we also dont expect an assasins creed game to be the witcher
*19 minutes and 51 seconds
Lol, not to mention it was 15+ minutes of dialogue/cutscenes lol
that ending on leap of faith was lit
This looks fun. They made the decisions making it more fun. the combat is amazing. I can't wait to play this.
I've got AC Odyssey and I really like playing exploring and fighting of this game very much!
I just wish I've got a DLC to continues the story of what happens next for Alexios or Kassandra Odyssey goes? :-(
I need a spear and a spartan hoplon. Then I’d buy this game.
Y’all are complaining about it not being a assassins creed game but I like it. I’ve played every game and enjoyed all of them. I like the way the series is going, and going to preorder this as soon as I can.
I knew they would do this. Ubisoft lured everyone in with Origins trying to say they changed and won't release yearly games. Then they do this. The same game with a new skin.
Hold on, I’m level 20 and I’ve never seen that quest 🤔🤔🤔
Voice acting as teerrrrrible as ever! *Incredible*
So, you buy again?
I love the AC Community. When a foreigner has an British accent they say its unrealistic. When a foreigner has a spot on access they hate it.
Nick G They can have the right accent and still do a terrible job voice acting
That's the Greek accent mate. That's how they sound
I think he's talking about the ACTING, sounds like they are just literally reading a paragraph for the highschool mates...
As much as I enjoyed (key word there) being an Assassin with a moral code, hidden blades and the like I think I got really bored with the series as there were more games. One of my favorite games in the series was Black Flag because it wasn't really a strict AC game so I don't mind this change that Ubisoft is taking as much. I haven't played anything in the series since Syndicate so I also don't know about the RPG game mechanics that they added, but I don't really mind it yet. We'll see how it does, I always wait until the reviews with these games...
Gabriel S Umm, this is only the second game since Syndicate.
not a single hidden blade kill bro what lmao
This looks amazing. My only issue is I hope that they clean up the speaking animations, it's not syncing up right.
This is a different day and age of gaming. Many people reminisce what ‘feeling good’ and what ‘amazing’ feels like so they always bring back older titles and experiences in their comparisons to the newer products.
AC3, I started falling asleep because of the combat - it was getting repetitive. It was smoother and cooler, but was very predictable right off the bat. The gameplay, very much so. Except naval battles. That was rad.
Ubisoft are story tellers and it’s told not just with the story, but with every bit of detail of graphics, sound, music, and culture that’s in the game.
^^^ this right here is the first priority that needs to be appreciated if you’re a true fan of the series.
Plot twist : Kratos kills Poseidon
im calling it, the hidden blade will be forged from a piece of leanidas spear that your character gets and uses during this early gameplay. The origin of the hidden blade will finally be shown.
How is this assassins creed ?
Just imagine if he chose "I am a god in disguise".
Who remembers days when Assassin's Creed was actually worth playing. I mean people just wanted a more innovated combat system. And how did Ubi respond? Lets ditch its uniqueness, its stealth, the parkouring and make a basic open-world RPG garbage thats set in the past. I uses love AC because it was unique from other games. Now its just a third class copy of Witcher.
No hate please. Just stated my opinion. And if you all played the classic AC games, you would probably agree.
The NERO Yeah I played the classic AC games and am glad they changed the formula. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed how they were before but it got boring and stale. The series needed new life and that's what Origins did. I mean, would you really want another Syndicate?
I agree. My love for AC went down the trash after they scrapped the Desmond story. Every entry since then feels aimless and it’s hard for me to get into them. The gameplay might be solid, but the plot feels nonexistent.
Gotta say, I'm liking this new character Alexios. He has a charisma like Ezio
Origins was good game for me but this make no different in every thing i dont see different between it and origins
i love how ubisoft keeps keeping ezio family theme
I like it and im sure its gonna be good but since I bought origins I really dont feel the need to buy this one....would instantly buy if the combat didnt still look clunky as hell !! In origins I just stealth kill everyone from behind or with bow headshot but I would love a really smooth combat system !!
Mathieu Marcotte if you don't think the combat in origins is smooth then you must not any games combat then
I mean the good old combat system block/counter was incredibly smooth !! yes it became boring after a while but they could've perfected that instead !
Madara 1096
You know what was some smooth fighting? The good ol' AC3 combat.
Logan F year it was smooth but it was way to easy all you had to do was press two buttons and you never had any problems at all
I miss the multiplayer from black flag
ubisoft to CD project red: hey can i copy your homework ?
CD: yea but don’t make it too obvious
It looks a DLC of AC Origins. Nothing is different except the location and the characters. And also he does not look like a assassin.
I think a lot of people are judging this game too harshly, games need to adapt to keep up with other games. Just because it’s not the same assassins creed as it used to be, it still looks like a good game.
It looks like a beautiful game, and a good step towards RPG mechanics. My "concern," if you could call it that, is that I'd like to know how it ties into the overarching storyline about the fight between the Assassins' and the Templars.
H. Nav It probably doesn't connect to that at all, but the developers themselves said it was focused on the First Civ. So no Assassins vs Templars, but likely lots of Assassinating corrupt leaders, and tracking down Pieces of Eden.
Kden 000 agreed
i didn't think this would be possible.
but i fell asleep while watching this.
Game looks good but not an assasins game. So I’ll pass. I’ll just play ghost of Tsushima. You know the thing we’ve been asking assasins creed for for years
I just like it how we went from Egyptian mythology to Greek mythology isn't isn't supposed to be the other way around
I'm worried where the Assassin vs Templar thing comes in. Origins was a great story and had a huge payoff endgame, but I don't see anything here that would say to me it is an assassin's creed game. My big fear about a game in Greece is that there are next to zero elements capable of showing an assassin's creed game. We had Italy for 3 games, and an Egypt heavily influenced by Greek architecture. The time frame leaves no real Assassin feel to it, and it's disappointing. The main thing that got me hooked on this series was the idea of Assassins and Templars and their war with each other. It was barely in Origins, granted it was the origination of the brotherhood we know of. And it seems flat out non existent in this game. I'm not sure how I feel about this...it may be another Assassins Creed Unity.
Nowhere. This isn't 2009. We're over 10 years into the series. Assassin's Creed is an universe. Not only about Assassins vs Templars. Deal with it.
i think this will be an origin of the Order of the Ancients and you will be playing the "bad" guy ;)
AuronN But Assassin's Creed is about assassins vs templars. This can be a new IP set in ac universe similar to Watch Dogs.
Marc Micciola Its from the same creators as AC Unity... Origins creators were the same as Black Flag and 4....
SMRO PT yikes. I'm nervous. Origins was so good I just hope this is at least just as good. I just hope it doesn't fall flat. I think it should have been released in February or March. Releasing so soon after Origins and Origins DLC is going to have it compared to Origins so heavily
I’m down for this. I don’t understand the complaints but I respect your opinions.
The Ghost of Tsushima is what we AC fans actually wanted. This is just a pathetic recycling of Origins...
to the people calling it "not AC game" i say - IT IS an AC game (blame the guy playing in this video for not playing stealthy, parkouring etc), you just dont play an assassin. it has stealth, parkour, different hoods (and helmets) etc.... your "hidden blade" is a Spear of Leonidas which is a Piece of Eden (thats confirmed!), Leonidas used it as a tip of his spear, main character here uses it like a dagger. actual hidden blade was created by Darius and he killed King Xerxes the I of Persia with it. that was in 465 BCE, according to the conference demo this game takes place in 438 BCE so we might still see it but i think it wont happen. i personally think this is the origin of Order of The Ancients (it takes place almost 400 years before AC:O) and you are the "bad" guy. also, since with each game they are going further back in time, i think the third one will be during the human rebellion against the First Civilization
Assassin's Creed died with Desmond
I think we can all agree, Ismael team who developed assassins creed 4 and origins is the best studio who innovative and has the best gameplay and story
those complaining please don't play it and let others enjoy
ihngaal Exactly. I've noticed A LOT of these people saying that they haven't liked and/or played an AC game since Black Flag (or even older!), so I'm confused as to why they're even here bitching about this one. They, apparently, didn't play Origins and it still did VERY well so Ubisoft doesn't really need them to like or play this one either.
Valerie Montanez glad to hear that
Everyone says it looks like origins but it is nothing like origins. The only thing similar is the misson objects in the top left. There is a lot more nature with all the grass and trees. And the naval combat is something that origins didn’t have ( unless you count the ONE misson you had to do )
“Creed : Odyssey”
Okay, so for all of you bitching that this game looks the same as Origins, shut up. The Assassins Creed games have all shared the same engines. So stop your complaining. Destiny had the same engine, nearly every COD uses the same engine, most of Bethesda’s games share the same engine, so you guys are just nitpicking. People are saying this doesn’t look like an AC game. Keep in mind, Bayek’s story didn’t really have much to do with the Creed till the very end. And his story was one of the best imo. No hidden blades? Who said that? No hoods? Been already shown. We aren’t sure. This is just small snippets of gameplay to avoid spoilers. Stop picking apart this game when we don’t know that much about it. It’s already been established that we have a piece of Eden. Also, as a lover of Greek mythology and the Greek time period, I am pumped for this.
They have never talked about templar order or Assassin Creed and its coming out in the wrong place and time WTF they thinking it just have the assassin's creed title and they reused a lot of ACO mechanics
ALBRNS02 how can you judge part of the story when we havent even seen it yet? Also what the problem with reusing ACO mechanics? The most popular games in the series were all basically reskins of each other so since ACO was the best assassins creed gameplay since revelations then it makes since for them to use its mechanics for another game
Madara 1096 really after all they show at e3 and all the videos of gameplay non of that talked about templar or the assassin's Brotherhood telling me not to judge and yes lot of games reused the old game and the problem it's a bad thing and lazy work on the developers. And like they said it has been 3 years don't think they can make new things
ALBRNS02 There can't be a Brotherhood because everything (except for 1 thing) associated with it was created in Origins.
jinxie712 yes I meant creed or anything about assassin's
ALBRNS02 They can be assassins, but not Assassins.
I like the Voice Acting of Kassandra much better. More emotion in the voice. Alexios is dry...
Haven't played a Assassin's Creed game in awhile, looks like this may just be the one to get me back into the fold.
Arnell Long you should play origins cause this is basically the same
Arnell Long when did you stop? Unity? Cause thats the last good game
Alex L unity was great but the best was revelations for me and this game looks like revelations
Origins was very good.this looks like a re-skin so you should just start with that
Ollie Medd its one of the best games ive ever played
I hope the new features are substantial enough to get over the fact it looks like the Roman version or origins. I have faith though
I played the original AC on pc, this new looter shooter rpg has ruined Assassin's Creed. We fight in the dark to protect the light is now gone. Now its fight anywhere, anytime, with the biggest, bulkiest, longest weapons ever made. Light, dark, public, private and this series has lost it's way. Before if you were seen, you could get attacked by 40 to 100 enemies, so the shadows and the darkness was your ally. Now 3 or 4 show up, well let me just pull out this long *ss javelin swing it over my head and kill whoever is around. Whoever created this action ruined this series and have lost the original AC players. Good luck chumps!
Maybe they will make Assassin Zombies next. Pitiful!
tonyusmc1 origins and now odyssey both predate all of the ACs by centuries. The assassins weren’t as hunted/persecuted that far back.
And I'm pretty sure you can still stealth, that's how I took down every fort in origins.
Kevin Bayer you never saw a Bruce Lee movie where he was strapped with guns, did you? Technique of Assassin's make the game what it is, style, charisma and stealth are everything. Oh sure I can go hide in the corner and bash him over the head with an oversized mace. This series has lost its ability to be unique and has just jumped into its Zombie Nation play antics.
Tbh man, AC origins had probably the hardest combat to date from any AC game and it was very difficult to kill enemies that were higher or the tanks. I’m guessing this game will be the same, I loved older AC games but it was way too easy. You could go on a Killing spree and chain kill like 20 enemies by spamming a button
Why does this feel like a side DLC story for a main assassins creed game?
Thank god male protagonist
Mohit Singh It it really that bothering?
And yet you can play as Female so.. yeah :)
Mary G yes miss i can play as a female but i am guy so i will play as a male
Mohit Singh And Imma play as a female! Yay for all of us
Mohit Singh
Imma play as female
Man is so cliche it’s not even fun anymore
This is the first Assassin's Creed game that I am actually excited for since, Black Flag!
Omg😍😍
Seeing gameplay of Conquest Battles will decide if I buy this game or not, I really miss the old games of actually being stealthy and an assassin but if Conquest are fun that might give me enough to try out this game, after all we potentially have Sam Fisher and Splinter Cell coming back to be stealth and the new Hitman.
