Good question - with hyperpigmentation it takes months to see results and a combination of different ingredients, no one product alone will do the trick. I also use Tretinoin and Vitamin C, but when my hyperpigmentation gets especially dark, at the end of summer, I always rotate in that one to help fade it a little quicker. So yes, I would say it works, but not as in it cures my hyperpigmentation on its own over a short period of time.
Dr. Anne I'm sorry but this video doesn't help at all. Your views shouldn't be only "smells like barbecue sauce" We need to know did it work, that's why we clicked the video. Hope you'll start to create more helpful videos as medical doctor.
If you had watched my other videos both on the science behind Tranexamic Acid for hyperpigmentation (here: ruclips.net/video/0r_BnsNstI8/видео.html ) and on Hyperpigmentation in general and how long and how much effort it takes to fade (here: ruclips.net/video/4rivIPpUOME/видео.html ) you would know that to see visible results in hyperpigmentation, you need a combination of different products and at least six months, and that Tranexamic Acid in the hierarchy of treating hyperpigmentation is in the bottom third. You will not see visible results with one product only, and if that is your definition of "it works", then no, this one doesn't. In general, most medical doctors will not present you with one pill for your issue and tell you: "Take this, it will solve all your problems", but instead offer a combination of medication and behavioral advice. Now this channel does of course not offer medical advice, but if you want a simple: "Buy this, it will cure that"-review, there are many channels out there providing just that - that will not happen on here.
@@DoctorAnne I understand but I personally don't prefer Tranexamic Acid while there are some hyperpigmentation treatments like photofacial lasers etc. These products could be options for the people who cannot afford facials. really hard to get satisfying result.
hello Dr. Anne, I want to call your attention to the face theory EXAGLOW serum. Also with tranexamic acid, vitamin c and licorice root. A potent combination; watery texture that absorbs easily. I have , so far, a very nice experience with this product. A little more expensive than the Inkey list , but there is no smell to this one and I believe it could work for many skin types. I do personally notice a brightening effect and I notice that if I use it as a spot treatment, for those occasional coming up pimples, it reduces the redness and the healing process....Have a great day!!!

Their Lumizela serum with azelaic acid is also a good recommendation. Overall, the brand is worth checking. Of you decide to go for fragrance, some of them are very strong...
I will most likely not work on its own, as treating hyperpigmentation will take a long time and a combination of different approaches. The answer to your question is probably: That depends what else you pair it with.
I want to tackle my sunspots and I am not sure what to choose - this Inkey list or Paula's Choice 10% Azelaic Acid Booster. What would you recommend? Also, is it ok to use them on hands, since I got a lot of sun spots on my hands, and I do not mind them that much, but with time, they will get bigger and darker...
It depends on what else you are using already - number one would be sunscreen, then a retinoid if you can handle it, then Vitamin C and an acid exfoliant (Azelaic Acid or Glycolic or Kojic or Lactic) and then things like Tranexamic Acid and Alpha Arbutin. Or you try Hydroquinone via prescription, that is very effective as well. I have a video on different options here: ruclips.net/video/4rivIPpUOME/видео.html And yes, you can use all that on your hands, I do that too.
@@DoctorAnne Thank you! I already use retinal, and vitamin C (started recently, while sunscreen was always part of my morning routine). @@alma_42 And you have build an amazing routine by what I can tell here! I was looking into this product for such a long time, but the reviews definitely put me off. Most were saying the same thing about the smell. So I did a little more research and ended up buying the Hado Labo Shirojyun Premium Lotion and it's been working wonders so far! I do prefer lighter textures (like toners) for my oily skin. And you can purchase refills which is an added bonus. Do you find the Good Molecules to be a watery serum?
Tranexamic acid is part of the tretinoin emulsion I get from Curology. They use 5% TA. I've tried 5% TA from a Korean brand and one from Naturium and found no improvement in my dark spots. While I'm seeing some improvement to some of my sun damage dark spots with Curology, I think it's due to the formulation of TA with tretinoin. It's not dramatic improvement.
@@DoctorAnne from what i have learnt recently hyperpigmentation treatment needs a cocktail of products because one product will not do it, well except hydroquinone and we all know why that is banned.
