- Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! After building a bunch of failed historical creations, most of which were terrible plane designs that never stood a chance, today I am determined to build a design to surpass all others throughout history... The Wedge Plane. It's design is clearly superior in every conceivable way and nothing could possibly compete with it. It has machine guns, missiles, bombs, landing gear, pretty much everything a plane could need. But most importantly...Wedge.

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Fun fact: The tiny thrusters don't need time to "spool up". That is why they can be used to build a simple hovercraft when connected to sensors. Logic also has no delay, so this is actually as easy as it sounds!
Logic does have delays in trailmakers but it is very minimal.
Whenever I make missiles with mini thrusters I usually allow the mini thrusters to spool up slightly before they detach from planes bc it makes the release transition smoother. It’s a small difference but for accuracy sake it’s really helpful.
yes but it still takes time to accelerate to full speed and there is a few milliseconds (not enough time to worry about) of delay

You should make a plane that's only controlled by guns. Like where for pitch and roll you don't use the wings you have to use the small cannons or the tank cannon... But honestly I would love to see that.

I would love to see a 'escape the wedge' multiplayer challenge. The amount of bomb and missiles would defiantly give the wedge a chance.
When I make detachable missiles, I use logic so that when I fly, the missile thrusters also activate. When I drop the missiles, I lose all the weight so I don’t need their thrusters anymore.
Also, I like to add anchors to the ends of my missiles and a sensor… when the anchor attach to something, then sensor picks it up, and then several seconds go by. You start to think it’s a dud, or the design is flawed. Another few seconds, spinning lights and loud noises activate, you piss your pants. Another few seconds, KABOOM (I also made another missile that does all this, but instead of exploding, it uses an angle sensor to create downwards thrust after several seconds and just screws up and annoys the enemy pilot)

I have a suggestion for a vehicle in Instruments of Destruction: Can you try making a vehicle that looks like Anomalocaris. Anomalocaris was an animal that lived in that Cambrian Explosion 500 million years ago. It would use its 2 tenticle like opendages on the front of its face that would curle up and down. When the 2 tenticles grab Pisces of a building, it will drag it twords its mouth on its stomach. Also just for a bonus: can you try making the fins move up and down?

You should add small delays to the bomb detachers so that they spread further like proper carpet bombing and not just in one small cluster. The ones in the back dropping first and then gradually increasing the delay so that the last bombs drops maybe 0.5-2 seconds later.

You know if you think about it REALLY hard, planes need wings, wings are just very squished wedges, therefore planes require wedges to work, making wedges an important aspect to air travel making it once again, the superior shape
Wings are like 2 wedges put back to back with a steep one facing front. Wedge gang was always right in front of us hiding in plain sight. You can’t escape them.

the only adjustment needed is putting the vertical stabilizers on hinges to act as air brakes for precision bombing and landing.

Well, I made a wedge for wood tech for a race, which I sadly lost because weight was an issue but I went with the instincts of the wedge. Hey, at least the downwards force was great.

That prooves that Scrapman can turn anything, even just a simple block into a goddamn dangerous aircraft that has rockets, machine guns, bombs and an ability to have a melee attacks.
Scrap man the reason it was so sensitive to turning was because it’s extremely aerodynamic so if it turns slightly it was like 16 wedges pushing on it in what ever direction it was turned
Not completely finished the video yet so I could be wrong but you should put the wings on the bottom surface of the wedge, keeping it more wedge-like and more superior!

recomendation for mm. Similar to the suicide bomber vs car video. Truck with a turret, vs a bomber. Each team has a plane and a truck your team is out when either your truck or plane is disabled however the plane can land and repair to reload the bombs at a designated spot before taking off. If the plane cockpit gets destroyed before landing, that team is out and if truck can no longer shoot that team is out. Both teams truck and plane go at the same time.
In another video you should make a controllable/guided missile

This reminds me of a "Lifting Body" plane. Like the X-24A or M2-F1.

another good thing to have on an aircraft is fixed gear, it may ruin the sleekness, but it gives you the ability to land about anywhere.
Did you know that a Plane is also a carpenters tools for smoothing wood surfaces? It is also traditionally wedge shaped!

Not possible are barely in trailmakers as missiles can't track. Dogfights are fun though.
@@daanoffline5716 Technically possible, as dumbfire missiles are a real thing, no tracking, no fly by wire, just straight ahead. That said you'll want them to have more thrust to avoid the amount of drop SM had on deployment.

Remember the wingless plane.. that was practically a wedge and was one of the coolest planes he’s messed with in my opinion, in the start you might have been able to have the flat angle on top with the seat and the wedge slant on the bottom like a boat haul and saved some wings and time lol the wedge is still best you just had to flip it for lift
EDIT: after watching the full video this version with all the weapons worked really well, definitely a machine of war

I think your missiles need more lift. They are continually dropping as they go. If they have enough lift they should launch straight off your wing as you fly. They're currently more like torpedoes without any water propulsion.

Scrapmans builds side part literally looks like spidermans ship and I ain't kidding it look as if spiderman was trying to create a really fast plane in scientific value and the side part looks sooo like spidermans Iconic the mask on and it's not the regular I'm talking about it's the iron spider suit and it's sooo close to it and also being a coincidence

Put a wedge on a wedge, you get a block OR a wedge. Sorta like two lasagna is either a mess or a single lasagna.

You should have put about a .5 second delay between each so the bombs strafe the target area. Or better yet maybe instead of using doors have them slide out holes in the back. Just do a trough to hold a line of them on their sides so they roll out the back and just have the end one attached. Have you tried just an engine an a bomb for a tiny missile... then put say 3 under each wing and fire them with timed delays too. The problem you have is the missiles are the same speed as the wedge. You might also try and put another set of wings so you have wings the whole length... in a wedge shape.
Now some games don't need the wings actually on the outside. You could put all the wings internally (with a row of bombs between them). Not sure how good the wind physics really are.
