The color of my 1967 C10 with large rear window is going to be the Copper Metallic as seen at the end on a 1930 Ford Sedan Delivery without fenders. But I need to buy a color chart or painted speed shape to make sure. I will call thecoatingstore to find out what they have.
As a retired ASE Master tech, I want my own vehicle that I will build. I have purchase two 1.3mm leathers for custom door panels, center console and modified-weld power bucket seats from a 2003 Tahoe. I am using almost all of the donors parts including the BCM. With a white top over a Copper metallic field, I am going to clean, sand, seal and spray epoxy black inside the bed sides, inside the doors and the floor. So there is 3 gallons. I built my 700R4 to handle 600HP but for a 5.3L “LS” engine with Summit cam for torque, SS headers, captured needle bearings in all the rockers. I have cleaned the engine by running on my custom stand to run ACDelco X66P mixed with fuel 3 times, but while heated, oven cleaner on the block. Checking compression (168 PSI Average) and a cylinder leakage test with SnapOn equipment. All new gaskets, seals and aftermarket oil pan. The block plugs removed allowed for complete cleaning running Preston heavy-duty coolant cleaner. This has an active chemical on one end, turn over to use the neutralizer to finish.
The epoxy to me on a frame off off project is important, plus on any repairs.
I will be video tapping each process to help anyone who wishes to create their own project vehicle. This will be on RUclips in total sequence of the steps, wiring and fuse protection, best practices for every step with a MIG, sandblaster for small parts, painting each layer and why. I use a “Yellow Jacket” brand, digital sling psychrometer that measures dew point, humidity w/both wet-dry bulb which used in A/C work, but important to painting.
