** About Philine Sonny **
Philine Sonny’s career took off in a whirlwind since releasing her first EP Lose Yourself in January 2022. Her love for music combined with her vulnerable and honest demeanor shines through in her lyrics. Philine’s music is primarily guitar lead and influenced by artists such as Sam Fender, Clairo, Holly Humberstone, Bruce Springsteen, and more. The 21-year-old addresses insecurities and everyday topics that are relatable and close to people’s hearts. On the thin line in between real and the imaginary, Philine finds her stories in the modesty of everyday life and with a key role of her immediate environment in her lyrics she challenges existing norms and systems through a self-critical, anxiety ridden perspective. Wherever she is in the circle of life, whenever she feels the fear of losing & finding herself again, Philine draws inspiration from her feelings and awakens people’s long abandoned emotions with her music.
Being positioned early on as an emerging talent to watch, Philine has made waves in the music industry, garnering attention from both the German-speaking region and international platforms like Notion and Wonderland. Philine’s fan base within Germany as well as beyond the German borders are steadily growing thanks to her captivating performances at renowned festivals such as the South By Southwest and Reeperbahn Festival. Philine Sonny’s sophomore EP Invader is out in early 2024.
