Cammy Wilson has a blog he does every week called Fed by Farmers. If you type that into YT followed by The Hoof GP (Roberts brother) you'll see Cammy is 'normally' as enthusiastic as he is reciting Burns. Sorry if you already know this but just didn't want you to miss out if you liked Cammy's style x
“O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us; To see oursels as ithers see us!” This was my late (Glaswegian) Mum’s most beloved quote. Seeing and hearing Cammy’s Burns’ recitation has moved me more than I can say here💜 Thank you, a heart-felt thank you indeed 🙏🏼🏴🇦🇺🦘🌹
Full confession from here in The States - hats off to the performance of the “local”. The accent and dialect were very hard to follow, but the expressions and animation were wonderful and helpful 🤠
Another pearler Robert. Fantastic combination of you telling us Burns history, and Cammy reciting one of his poems. I had to laugh when the sheep coughed not wanting to miss out on a bit of the limelight though😊Have a fantastic Burns Night to all who celebrate and thank you Robert. Keep them coming and looking forward to reading the book 📚
Great seeing Cammy & listening to his recitation of Robby Burns. My dad was a big fan of Rooby Burns & he passed it down to me. Thanks for another great video.
Robert, this was such a fantastic, amazing, and awesome video! I absolutely loved every second of it! I often host Burns Suppers here in Austin Texas and am not able to do one this year. I plan to share your video with all my friends as it is such a nice treat since we can't celebrate Rabbie together this year! I have told Rabbie's story quite often but your presentation and insights are quite phenomenal and really help bring him to life so beautifully. Your friend's recitation of that poem was outstanding and the commentary delightful. Thanks so much for all your hard work! You really are one of my favorite channels and I eagerly await your videos.
@ That's good to hear unless you are in a drought? We are here in most of Nebraska. Did you hear about the mini-tornado in and around Newquay, Cornwall?
Well done, once again. I have, as of yet, not watched an episode you’ve beget, where a stint o school I’ve not gotten of the lovely land and folks of Scotland
Kind Sir, you mentioned Brigadoon. Made me think of the American movie by the name and that movie got me started with a love for Scotland. Love your movies! So informative. Also helps me see more or less, what it’s like to be Scottish! Please continue. 😊
Excellent presentation, sir! Including Cammy was also a gift! I have seen his video of "Tam O' Shanter" and it is epic, as well! Having not grown up in Scotland, I find the traditional pronunciations fascinating, barely grasping the meaning of the words before they flow past! Thank you for this!
Only at a mature age do we appreciate what our elders taught us young ones, the traditions that make a people, it requires a ripened mind. That farmer man did a great job reciting, I couldn't understand a lot of it, so I'll have to look it up in my Burns collected works later, but his delivery and expression were a pleasure to watch! 👍 History should never be cancelled, and inconvenient or uncomfortable truths should not be forgotten, lest we repeat the mistakes of the past.
Cammy, that was wonderful!! Your expressions and hand gestures just added to the poem!! My question to Cammy is: was that recited entirely in Scots or was some slang? 😊 Bob, that was great bringing on Cammy. Loved this video, might be one of my favorites! Would like to hear you recite a poem!! Thanks for that beautiful view 😮 Look forward to your next adventure! ❤
Great video Bob, Cammy also recited Tam o shanter ( I hope that’s right) last year on his Sheep Game channel. It’s definitely worth a look with all the expression of this rendition. It also has subtitles!
Hi Robbie! Thanks for this wonderful video. I especially liked the farmer reciting Burns since I was a farmer. Cancel him? What a ridiculous notion! Blessings!
I once attended a Burns Night dinner, hosted in America by an Eastern Orthodox priest -- a 5th generation Californian -- one of whose guests was his bishop, and we ate a haggis prepared by his Greek wife. All of us were in Highland costume, yet I think I was the only one there with significant Scottish Highlands ancestry. (I recited his, "To a Mouse".) If that's not a sign of Robert Burns' influence on the world stage, I don't know what is.
My heart's in the Highlands my heart is not here, My heart's in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer; Chasing the wild-deer, and following the roe, My heart's in the Highlands, wherev'r I go. Happy Burns Day!
Your videos are always interesting. I am not Scots, so when I tried to read his poetry I was never as good at it as Cammy. (What did you bribe him with?) I understand not being thrilled having to read something in school. I still hate some of the books we had to read in high school.
I am so happy watching your video on Robbie Burns! Been missing your show. We in the US need something to take our minds off the terrible felon in our White House. Thanks for the great channel!!
@@scotlandunpluggedOMG I understood the entire thing with out difficulty. Must be my Scot bloodline coming through🤣😂. Plus I also adore Cammy! Great video Robert! You always give us your best. ❤❤
It's good the family moved out of that cottage when he was still a little boy because I'm sure all the cars on the road would have been dangerous when he was out playing.
Hurt my arm this mornin and had to go to hospital for an x-ray, as I was sitting waiting to be seen, the lad next to me says," Fair fae yer honest sonsieface! Great chieftain o' the puddin race!!" I was like, eh?!?!., I turned my head round to the the lady sat on my other side, she said, " ! Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie, O, what a panic's in thy breastie!" , As I grabbed the next doc walking past I said, "here mate is this the psychiatric ward?" He says," no this is the burns unit!
My English teacher used to make us read Burns out loud for her own amusement. A bunch of Texas teenagers trying to stumble their way through To A Mouse was probably hilarious, but very traumatic to my memory.
We need more farmers reciting poems, if all are as brilliant as this one! Another great, very educating and also entertaining episode

Fed by Farmers is his podcast channel. His farming vlog channel is The Sheep Game. Both are well worth checking out!
I think Cammy’s a one- off. Maybe an idea for a channel though. 🤔

Cammy’s recitals are becoming legendary. You can see more on The Sheep Game. 🙂
Cami, that was wonderful, and I did not understand any of it but the was your facial expression mad a great one
Yeah, I maybe got like 60-80% of it… but that was quite hilarious really! 🤭😆
It had death, it had some religion... IT HAD CAMMY!!!
Great video Bob!!
😂
When I saw the title of this episode I thought Cammy would love this... and then there he appeared! Brilliant.
Brilliant! 😂
Liked your farmer friend and great tour. New Years Eve always requires singing Auld Lang Syne. Thanks 👍😊
Absolutely - although I’m usually half asleep when the bells go 😂

A very enjoyable and informative video. Cheers.
"To a Louse" so well recited! Thank you both.

Another fantastic video, Robert. Many thanks for sharing.

Great video Robbie and all about the bard very good of you to get Cammy from the sheep game to say a poem of the bard’s.
Thanks Cameron

Really interesting story and video. I understood about three words of the poem! lol 😂

There’s the Balmoral Pyramid - Prince Albert’s Cairn.
