Time n again good work bro. Sn this video on yr comments in response to my question in yr Dharmashala uploads. Planning to visit Dharmashala area for 3 nights and 3.5 days. Right now thinking to stay at Dharmashala looking to expected low tempr in Mid January amd I believe Mcleodganj and Palampur will be more chilled area relatively Bro, pl advise ,can I stay at Dharmashala and visit full day trip to Palampur ( day 2) ? McLeodganj ( day 3) ? Do you suggest paragliding at Dharmashala? You hv dn it at Bir .
Thank you for your kind words! Staying in Dharamshala will definitely give you more accommodation options compared to McLeodganj and Palampur, plus you’ll have access to a wide variety of food choices. I recently started using Airbnb, and there are some great properties available in Dharamshala as well. McLeodganj is cooler than both Dharamshala and Palampur, where the temperatures are usually quite similar. A trip of 3 to 3.5 days is perfect for exploring all three places, as they’re relatively close to each other. Mid-January is an excellent time to enjoy snow and cold weather in this part of Himachal. I visited these places from November 28 to December 6 last year, so while my videos capture that period, you can expect even colder conditions now-perfect if you love the cold! As for paragliding, I’ve only tried it in Bir-Billing, but the reviews for Dharamshala paragliding experiences are great (mostly rated 4.5 stars on Google). If the weather is clear, it’s definitely worth a try!
Tysm dear for sparing time and prompt replies. Dalhousie is more green than Dharmashala?? Can we cover Dharmashala Palampur Dalhouise in 3 nt 4 days ?? 2 nt stay at Dharmashala and 3rd at Dalhouise ??
The pleasure is all mine! If you’re visiting with family, exploring places of interest will naturally take more time. However, if you’re traveling solo, you can move faster and cover more in less time. If you plan to cover Dharamshala, McLeodganj, and Palampur in 2 days, it’ll be hectic but doable. Hiring a taxi is a convenient option-they typically cover around 10 attractions and charge approximately ₹2500-₹3000 per day. However, visiting Palampur may incur additional charges. If you opt for a rental bike or car, it gives you more flexibility but can also be more time-consuming and hectic, especially if you’re trying to make the most of your holiday. For the 3rd and 4th day, there are direct morning buses from Dharamshala to Dalhousie. You’ll reach Dalhousie by around 1:45 PM, allowing you to explore a few attractions that afternoon. The next day, you can visit Khajjiar and other spots in Dalhousie before heading back to Delhi or Pathankot. So what you are planning is doable.
Ji. Aap ko door se Dhauladhar Ranges ke snow capped peaks jaroor dikh jayenge abhi aur aane wale kuch mahino me bhi. Par Palampur aur Dharamshala ya McLeodganj jaise jagahon pe barf dekhne ke liye sabse sahi waqt hai Christmas ke baad. Aur poore ke poore January me.
God forbid, even if you don’t find snow in McLeodganj or Dharamshala, the Dhauladhar Ranges will certainly be snow-covered. These peaks are covered in snow for most months of the year regardless of the season.
Is palampur a good place to settle here with family in terms of only required amenities, electricity and water good facilities and low risk of landslides
If you're coming from the plains or a crowded city, Palampur will feel like heaven with its tranquility and laid-back lifestyle. As a traveller, I loved it. The lush greenery, the snow-capped peaks, the serene rivers, and the tea gardens, it had everything I love. While I enjoyed my visit very much, only a local can truly answer what it's like to settle down in Palampur. My suggestion? Visit this place quite some times to explore and understand the place better before making any decision...

Yes. Bir (locally pronounced as beed) is called the Paragliding capital which is 30 km away from Palampur which is a must visit place and I've made a separate episode on it which you'll love.
Sorry for the late response. I haven't included travel expenses to Palampur, so you can calculate that based on your location. Once you're in Palampur, budget accommodations like homestays are available for as low as ₹800 per night for two people, meaning you'll need two rooms. Decent hotels start at ₹1500 per night. For local sightseeing, you can rent a taxi for ₹2000 per day, or, for a more fun option, rent two scooters for around ₹2000 per day, including fuel. Food costs will range from ₹1000 to ₹1500 per person for two days. Overall, per-person expenses should come to about ₹3000-3500 (excluding travel to Palampur), while staying in comfortable accommodations and enjoying local transport. If you opt for hostel stays, you can reduce costs even further.
I'm sorry, Paritosh Ji kuch galat kaha toh. Please correct kar dijiye taaki viewers ko sahi information mil sake aur mujhe bhi. [As far as I know, Neugal is a river and Neugal Khad is a picnic point.]
Auto rickshaws are readily available near the bus stand, making it a convenient starting point for local travel. They can also take you to Wah Tea Estate for an additional fare and are generally much cheaper than taxis. For reaching Baijnath, frequent buses depart regularly from the bus stand and are a more economical choice compared to taking an auto rickshaw, which would be significantly more costly for that distance.

Do you book a cab for sightseeing? Whats the price ? If possible pls provide number
I booked an autorickshaw for Rs. 800, while taxis for sightseeing, including stops like Wah Tea Estate, would cost around Rs. 2000 to 3000 per day.
@mr.freebird auto available from market? Does auto goes to wah or baijnath ?
Auto rickshaws are readily available near the bus stand, making it a convenient starting point for local travel. They can also take you to Wah Tea Estate for an additional fare and are generally much cheaper than taxis. For reaching Baijnath, frequent buses depart regularly from the bus stand and are a more economical choice compared to taking an auto rickshaw, which would be significantly more costly for that distance.
