Absolutely spectacular Henry and its long overdue since the last big shoot at kerry a number of years ago. Its this type of material from you that gets many people including myself off our backsides and to cast a few lures whenever possible. Keep up the great work and whenever you can please put more material up like this as there's not enough and I have to keep referring back to you gee and storm all those years back in wexford. Take care Henry 🙏👍🤝
@@henrygilbey302 Yesterday 16th Jan was the first frost we have had here in Mayo since last February (2020). I had to cut the grass this weekend which is unheard of... weather has been absurdly mild. I associate bass fishing up here with cold still nights (shallow atlantic storm beaches dont produce in daylight) and its been impossible to get out owing to the continuous rain. No hard cold weather...
What made you think otherwise. It's renowned for it's angling. The East Coast is pretty average and even sub-par in places, and yet the bass fishing has picked up there excellently over the years. The South and West Coasts are phenomenal, with some of the best bass angling to be had.
Brilliant video. I used to love catching \pollack off the piers and arms using white rag and prawns. Not caught one for 20 years now. Must come to Ireland and fish the county which shares my name!
@@kerryfoster1 do you mean specific locations or general areas? Please understand that I will never give our locations, it can't be done, but Google Earth and looking aroudn will reveal literally thousands of pollack type marks up and down the west coast of Ireland
Your coast, shoreline and conditions are so similar to ours here in Cornwall. Coming to Ireland this summer fishing . Have lots of family in wicklow wexford and Cork. Can't wait 😊
I'd love to try this rod for the flounder's with a savage gear seeker as a weight, obviously take the hook off and two snoods and lugworm on a clean beach and draw it in slowly...
A great video and some superb fish Henry. I must make one observation though, for the pollack and wrasse off the rocks a landing net would make things a lot safer, easier and negate the risks of breaking a rod trying to haul them out.
Point taken, but we will often lift or handline the fish out to keep away from the swell. Surprisingly heavy fish can be lifted on rods if it's done correctly
Great video Henry. Bassing around Dublin has picked up, but can't wait to do the proper stuff down Cork way. Oh BTW, ever since I customised detachable eel design heads for those Savage Gear gravity sticks, I've actually been catching more bass on them. A handy addition.
Making my way through all of your videos, and it's been really helpful, I'm very new to bass fishing with lures but loving the journey so far! Do you ever come down to Cornwall to bass fish, I hear I'm in a good part of the world for it.
Kerry is good but Clare is great... well done on the fishing. We're getting plenty of action North of the Shannon estuary from Carrigaholt right up to Fanore 👍
Brilliant action! We have some great fishing in West Cork aswell. Where about is this? Waterville/Derrynane Bay? Looks great. Be really interested in a guided day trip
Saludos
Just bought the sgs5 9-35g, planning on using it on seabass in Gibraltar, with soft plastics such as the black minnow n3. Shimano stradic c3000 a good reel for this rod?
I really like the 9'6'' 38g Infinity for surface lures, but for 35g surface lures? Not sure it's the rod I'd want for that so much...........20-30g very much so, but a lot of 35g lures? I'd prefer something a bit more powerful in the tip
Cool vid, but hmmmm less of the “game of thrones” constantly playing in the background ah ? Didn’t need it really, the fishing an scenery was enough 👍😎😍
You could always turn the sound down on your device..............please bear in mind that I wasn't recording any usable sound when I was filming, it was very much grab what you can sort of stuff, hence me removing the sound from the clips and adding music
Top notch 🎱🔝🎬in fairness, Is anyone going to have a stab 🧐🤔🤪, at a few of the Marks, I’ll throw my tuppence worth anyway, I think I see the tower on Bray Head Valentia, so they’re about 2k West of Portmagee, And possibly, out of the road to Hogs Head from Waterville, directly opposite Ballinskellig Beach, Waterville Beach by the Golf Club definitely 🎱☝️👍💪for the Bass at the End
Love to see you doing some programs like the good old days Henry.

I lived in Ireland. In Kerry. Fishing is fabulous
I never thought Ireland was such a great place for anglers….again another great video
When the bass fishing is on it's awesome, and when the bass fishing is tough it's still an awesome place!

This looks like an awesome trip, but I have to say. Henry the quality of the photography is outstanding 👍👍

Thats looks epic
It was!
That certainly gave the SGS5 rod, a good workout!
yep, it was good to see other anglers thrashing the rods

Kerry, SW Ireland

@@mickysly1 feedback is always welcome, thank you, but you need to know why the music is there from my point of view
It would be nice to see a landing net.
You don't need a landing net in the surf or shallow flat ground
As Michael says, not required for some spots, but I do carry one for some situations
Nice spot. Where is it?

Sorry Henry. ...awesome fishing, the music ruined it a bit.
If I had my way it would have a black metal soundtrack, but I can't afford to buy the tracks!
