Kim Chang-Wan Band's New Album [Pink Excavator]
Having formed the group Sanulim in the 1970s opening up a new horizon in Korean music with treasured albums, Kim Chang-Wan formed the Kim Chang-Wan Band in 2008 in order to reproduce the musical senses of Sanulim and to continue on its tradition.
The Kim Chang-Wan Band produces original sounds of rock music, while also including a rich musical spectrum including psychedelic and funk element, performing to the Sanulim generation as well as those who did not know the band, by performing in live concerts and taking part in rock festivals.
The recording for the album "Pink Excavator" took place in a one-take format in a special place -- the performance hall -- which is something they have done since their debut. Moreover, they set up a record by managing to record all 12 songs in 12 hours in one single day.
This was possible due to as the teamwork and communication between the band members with experienced performance skills and their harmonious blend with the engineer, who skillfully recorded the sounds of the band just as they are. The engineer Hwang Byung-Joon is the first Korean to have received the Grammy Awards at the 54th Grammy Awards this February, receiving the best technical award in the classic area.

1970年代サンウリムを結成し韓国音楽の新しい地平を開いて珠玉のような名盤を出したキム・チャンワンは、サンウリムの音楽的感覚を再現し正統性を継承するため、2008年キム・チャンワンバンドを結成した。
キム・チャンワンバンドはロック・ミュージックの源泉的なサウンドを具現して、その中でサイケデリックやファンクなど豊富な音楽を見せてきた。持続的なライブ公演やロック・フェスティバルの参加で、サンウリム世代はもちろんサンウリムを知らない世代にも人気を得ている。
［ピンクの掘削機］の録音は、公演会場という特別な空間で、デビューの時からやってきたワンテイク方式で行われた。さらに臨場感を生かすために演奏はもちろんのこと、ボーカルも12時間で全12曲を録音するなど史上初の記録を残した。
円熟した演奏力を持つキム・チャンワンバンドのメンバー間のコミュニケーション、チームワーク、そしてあるがままのサウンドを録音してそれを再現する卓越した才能のエンジニアの調和のとれた組み合わせがこれを可能にした。今回の作業に参加したファン・ビョンジュン エンジニアは、今年2月第54回グラミー賞授賞式で、クラシック部門最高技術賞を受賞、韓国人として初めてグラミー賞を受賞した人だ。

1970년대 산울림을 결성해 한국 음악의 새로운 지평을 열며 주옥 같은 명반을 쏟아낸 김창완은 산울림의 음악적 감각을 재현하고 정통성을 계승하기 위해 2008년 김창완밴드를 결성했다.
김창완밴드는 록 음악의 원천적 사운드를 구현하고 그 안에 사이키델릭, 펑크 등 풍부한 음악적 스펙트럼을 펼쳐 보이며 꾸준한 라이브 공연과 록 페스티벌 참여로 산울림 세대와 산울림을 모르는 세대까지를 아우르고 있다.
'분홍 굴착기' 음반 녹음은 공연장이라는 특별한 공간에서 데뷔 때부터 줄곧 고수해오고 있는 원테이크 방식으로 이루어졌다. 더욱이 현장감을 살리기 위해 연주는 물론이고 보컬까지도 하루 12시간 만에 12곡 전곡을 녹음하는 기염을 토하며 사상 초유의 기록을 남기게 되었다.
원숙한 연주력이 뒷받침 된 김창완밴드 멤버간의 소통과 팀웍 그리고 있는 그대로의 사운드를 녹음하고 그것을 재현하는데 탁월한 재능을 발휘한 엔지니어와의 조화로운 결합이 이를 가능케 한 것이다. 이번 작업에 참여한 황병준 엔지니어는 올해 2월 제 54회 그래미상 시상식에서 클래식 부문 최고 기술상을 받으며 한국인으로서 첫 그래미상을 수상하였다.

ok they're one of Korea's most beloved rock bands. Kim Chang Wan's old bands name is Sanulrim(1977-2008)and they broke up after his brothers death. Kim Chang Wan has been actively performing as a musician, actor, writer and broadcast celebrity. he had roles in White Tower and in The First Shop of Coffee Prince as his role as Mr.Hong. so they are legends of rock. please thumbs up so people can see it
