I always wanted to, Im an adult XD if that helps and it takes abit of work/hours/time and patience to learn speed runnign if it wasnt this. so im here XD and i have the game sititng onthe floor
@@timothyli-dark_smilez6410 the only times I’ve attempted speedruns is on Resident Evil 2 to unlock special weapons. I like watching other people do them, far less stressful
@@Ssjangel3 Can you point me to this? I've only played through the Adventure of Link challenges so far and its last challenge is one of the places. It's not the full game or anywhere close to it. Edit, same for Mario Lost Levels - the last challenge is just 8-2 rather then the full game.
These games are incredibly small in size and it would have been quite easy to have on here in addition to the challenges. But unfortunately, Nintendo wants to make sure you're buying your Switch Subscription or whatever it is.
I got the game for my brother's birthday and he's loving it. He's an 80s guy that grew up with the NES and subsequent consoles so this is perfect for him, especially as a lover of Mario and Zelda.
Thanks for the very detailed review, I was wondering how this game would work, it has been explained very well 😊 I really like the idea that you don’t necessarily need other players online for the challenges, looks very fun!
I grabbed the physical set. My kid is already displaying all the stuff in his room. We played it all weekend and I totally agree with your review. Some more variety in the kind of challenges would’ve been great. Some of those Legendary challenges are brutal.
I have only tried the speed run mode so far, I live streamed it terribly , shirtless in fact …it was a hot day 😅 still gutted the replica cart isn’t a working cart in the special edition pack though ☹️ great review Glen 🙃
I am not a speedrunner person but this game actually made me addicted. I need that S rank. I love playing against other people. This is completely unexpected, I was expecting to try it out a bit, being bored with it and stopped, but it’s actually really fun.
Agreed with your balance comments. As someone who built personal speed run challenges in SMB3, the lack of longer and more complex challenges is a huge disappointment. I wont pick it up because I'll get bored of the 5-10 second challenges long before I unlock the more fun full level or full world challenges. Also, while I haven't played it, I don't see any truly clever challenges like beat a level with no powerups, or don't stop running, or don't collect a single coin. Challenges like these always brought new life to an old game.
I am not a speed runner but I still love every review! You guys always highlight games not necessarily on my radar which is helping me branch out. Thank you… see yaaaaaaa!
Such a missed opportunity, not putting the Switch NES controller in the collectors edition... I just saw an unboxing of the Japanese version and it comes with TWO! But still... I want it... like the sucker I am (!)
Thanks for the review-I don’t have the online account for Nintendo nor gave plans to get it because I don’t play too many games nowadays. Thus, I would like to get this but feel the game is really limited if there isn’t online options. - 😢
I impulse ordered the physical edition when it was announced (which is extremely rare for me to even buy physical period, yet alone a deluxe edition) and I am a bigger fan of the physical extras than the game itself. So much so that I'm thinking of putting the game up on eBay.
My verdict is that Nintendo business model is just so bizarre. I mean they sell the same games (with a new coat of paint) over, and over, and over again, and you know what's even more strange? We keep buying them!
@@therealjaystone2344 The complete games maybe? Do you think it would have been hard for them to include them? Its a quick cash grab and I am surprised how easily people open up their wallet for things like this. We deserve much more from Nintendo, especially considering the prices they are asking for.
I grabbed the physical because I can't resist a cool collector's edition. I'm just not sure it was worth the asking price when I only look at the game itself. I'm sure I'll fire it up weekly to try my hand at the competitions and maybe try the party mode with friends, but it's not gonna be a permanent fixture in my Switch's game card slot. Probably would have been better as a digital purchase with a decent discount.
Startropics 1 & 2 could have had some great challenges. As I understand it the game doesn't have online leaderboards. Basic stuff like that missing and not having more of even their own games make it it hard pass for me.

It's out already. It runs surprisingly well, though of course there are graphical downgrades compared to the other platforms. The new expedition has started, too.
I would say this is probably Nintendo's laziest game like this. A series of extremely short speedruns, most of which are basically explanations of an instruction manual, is extremely disappointing. They didn't do anything with this game. NES remix actually featured challenges and made the game very interesting. The actual Nintendo World championships NES cartridge, actually made a lot of sense, because you had to compete against other people to get high scores across three games. I would personally give this game a 3 out of 10. By the way, you didn't mention that the title screen is basically the only screen that is in the entire game.
It's... interesting? Seems incredibly niche, and with main features locked behind online access (if I understand correctly), $30 seems relatively steep. I mean... I just picked up Persona 5 Royal on sale, physical and new, for $25. What... a... game so far. I realize that's an older title, but we all have backlogs. NWC is competing with that. I'm not sure I'd even download NWC for free, seeing as time with games is finite.
emm they have already that, nintendo switch online have a lot of nes snes gba gbc n64 games, even without the expansion pack its still very nice, Tho I only have the suscription for the cloud saves hahaha
Want to know why games have gone down hill? Because everyone wants dlc or updates instead of a finished game packed with content at launch. Do wish for dlc or updates. Demand a sequel that's better!
Oh yeah, some first party titles I would’ve liked included are sports titles like Baseball, Golf, Tennis, Ice Hockey, etc. I’m sure they could’ve thought up some challenges for those. Would it have been a stretch to include light gun games like Duck Hunt, Freedom Force and Gumshoe? Where’s Punchout and Dr Mario?

Patience for speed runs seems like an oxymoron

Given the size of the games could they not have included the full games as well and in physical form as well.
Doesn't it have the full games, the final challenge for each game is to speedrun the whole game I heard, so technically they are
