I always knew that Toyota has been in the top 10 most valuable car brands in the world for years. But the fact that Toyota is in second place, ahead of Volkswagen and other German brands, shows how good Toyota really is.
A well deserved 2nd place and in general I found it interesting how valuable some brands are, I thought some really weren't that valuable.
I think Tesla is over hyped it shouldn’t be more than Toyota because Toyota produces both fuel and electric cars and it’s sold all over the world but Tesla is sold mostly in America and Europe and they produce just electric cars

Toyota definetly creates more value worldwide than Tesla but the relatively rich, mostly Western investors/gamblers throw alot of their money at Tesla, not because it has more fundamental value than Toyota, but because they believe in Tesla revolutionizing the car industry further. Thus Tesla's value is largely based on belief and hype caused by unrealistic promises.

I'm from Mexico and here we don't know the Indian or Chinese cars, most of the vehicles that are sold are from US, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Spain, France, Italy or Great Britain.

The stock valuation is based on both real physical assets and strength of stock values.
Some companies have good reputation which is also fuelling its stock value but it is vulnerable.
Tesla is the best example. It will take only days if not hours for its value to go down if something negetive happens.
The valuation is only based on stock value. Real assets have nothing to do with this list.

Companies like tesla have very less percentage based on assets like giga factory, offices etc. The rest are all hype causing over inflated stock value.

When I was younger I always drove GM. For the past 20 yrs I have driven Toyota or Honda. GM would not exist without government support.

@Suresh Yadav Toyota overall is more reliable. Honda has reliable cars but on avg Toyota is far more reliable. Example look at the Ridgeline vs tacoma. Also Toyota is the smartest new vehicle to buy brand new out of any vehicle on the market especially the trucks. They just never lose value. Look at msrp of a Ridgeline and a 5 yr old Ridgeline. Now look at msrp of a tacoma and then look at the price of a 5 yr old tacoma. And compare the depreciation. I'm no Japanese car dude but you're wrong. And if you wanna talk about their most reliable cars corolla has almost always and way more consistently been more reliable than the civic. And same goes with the camry vs accord. When it comes to reliability Toyota is #1 and Honda is #2

Well, that was surprising. I expected a lot of Chinese companies I never heard of, but I would thought several of the well-known brands, like Mazda, would be way higher.

Not really. If you look at how many companies are in Tesla. Tesla's a robotics company, a car company, a car supplier company (No other automaker makes so much of their stuff in house), a software company, a insurance company, renewable energy and storage company, a... must I go on? The problem with looking at amount of cars sold is that isn't the only way to value a company. You have to value its tech and how that will help that company in the future as that impacts how much that tech should be worth.
Volvo car is separated from Volvo but sharing the same Volvo logo and now owned by China's Geely in 2010 not Sweden. Geely is headquartered in Hangzhou and the founder is Li Soufu and listed in HKSE but registered in China. Therefore it should be China not Hong Kong.

All of these automotive products from various countries have quality, especially Japan, South Korea, USA, Germain, and Italy, but specifically from China, maybe I don't understand the quality, maybe I lose in the quality sector and only win in the quantity and price sector.

South Korean cars are terrible quality. They have terrible oil consumption issues and are plagued with many other common problems. American cars have tons of reliability issues due to quality control and GM uses the worst quality plastic in their interior than any other vehicle I've been in. Including their newer vehicles. Italy has quality interiors but terrible reliability due to terrible quality. And Chinese has many quality issues with many of their vehicles as well. Germans mercedes is pretty good quality volkswagen has terrible quality seals and gaskets. If a volkswagen product ain't leaking after 30k you may want to check your fluids. And bmw have bad quality turbo seals
Have you ever own a Chinese car? I owned two GMs, a Toyota and a Geely, the GMs had a lot of issues on many parts like thermal and electric parts. And they are assembled roughly noise comes out after 2 to 3 years. As for my Geely, 10 years passed, as reliable as Toyota Levin. So, stop your bias on things you don't know.
@@leroyliu3862 I've worked on some Volvo's and they aren't the best quality dude they got their issues. There's a lot of cheap plastics under the hood on both their cars and semi's. Many of them have transmission problems their interiors are nice. But 10 yrs is nothing on a modern car even most gm made cars make it over 10 yrs and over 200k miles. Hell even their shitty ass ecotechs make it 150k-180k miles consistently. Every one has down falls somewhere there is no perfect car. And gm come standard with noise. Everything rattles when brand new.
