Jesua Christ bro stop repeating the same things over and over, just tell us the top 10 orcs with a brief of their lore.. 💀
I literally fell asleep listening to him go over the entire hobbit trilogy to explain 1 orc lmao
Exactly
It's surely just AI
Guess I'll be the
"Jesus Christ is lord and savior. Confess with thy mouth that he is God (or son of God), and was perfect. And ye shall be saved" guy today.
That is all.
Wtf?
Jackson's portrayal of Azog is how General Grievous should've been written for Star Wars.
I know a lot of fans dislike the use of CGI to make Orcs in The Hobbit films, but Azog looks by far the best Orc character design-wise and the amount of expression he has on his face makes him stand out more compared to others, i think that doing prosthetic work on the actor's face wouldn't have given the same effect. Azog's CG work coupled with Smeagol's CG work is really impressive in these films, for all the excessive use of CGI, they did very well when working on these characters.
The hobbit and the new series lack the magic of LOTR because of the overuse of CGI
lol none of the orcs from the hobbit can even compare to those from the original lotr, azog is very simplistic and boring in design in my opinion.
I completely disagree. What made orcs so terrifying is that they LOOK humanish but lacked any emotion or empathy for anyone or anything let alone a person so the fact that the orcs in the hobbit were emotive and expressive is the thing that ruins it completely for me.
That and the fact Bolg literally just had random parts of metal IN his body on his chest and ribs as opposed to just wearing a breastplate made him look ridiculous, like he was some weird Orc robot hybrid made to look super edgy and generic with a bad ass scar and a blind eye plus cool sharp things sticking out of him like a 14 year old kid designed it lol
@@JD-hh2qb agreed. I know its fantasy, but the OG Trilogy felt more grounded, and the Hobbit felt very whimsical and cartoonist. Both great trilogies, but the original feels better to me.
That's right I love the cgi
My favorite ork was the guy who said meat is back on the menu Boys minutes later get killed and get meat on the menu himself 😂
Now that was funny
All we’ve had to eat for 3 stinking days is this MAGGOTY Bread 😂😂😂

Azog the defiler is probably my favorite orc villain.
He’s got such a good design, and the actor I forgot his name but he played Crixus in Spartacus, he’s just got this physical presence, the dude is huge, and that paired with the bald, pale, scarred look they gave Azog just makes him such an intimidating presence in every scene
@@AverageAwesomeDude indeed
Anyone forgot Ugulak?
@@theonering2966 u talking about that Npc sam killed
No not an NPC, an orc from the Silmarillion that was basically a mortal balrog
Lawrence Makoare as Lurtz is probably one of my favorites. In the film The Deadlands I can see a lot of the same expressions he brought into Lurtz. Wonderful actor.
agree with this. lurtz was the one whom make me want to rewatch the battle and put respect upon the villain. what a cool creature!
Sarumans fighting Ukruk-Hai were almost respectable in a way. They were committed and fierce and even they hated Orcs almost as much as they hated Men. When Aragorn speaks to one of them in Helms Deep they are actually almost nice to him and want to speak with him. "If you want to speak with us then come down! Bring out your king or we will come in and get him!"
JUSTICE FOR JERRY!
i cant understand the setnace you mean uruk hai hated orcs and when did the thing with aragorn speaking happened
@@mystery2213the books…
ahaha "almost nice", that's a pretty damn twisted take of the actual book.
They were clearly taunting him to come down out of cover and get slaughtered.
lurtz for me is the OG.
honourable mention to:
sharku, old leader of a warg rider tribe who delighted in leading raids to kill unarmed villagers, women and children through cutting them down or letting the giant dogs eat any survivors alive.
lugdush and mauhur, both lieutenants of ugluk who looked at other orcs as inferior, no problem fighting or killing them, and had enough intelligence to distinguish food from hobbits, unlike the orcs from mordor, and they boasted incredible stamina and discipline in their mission, making for a pack of very intimidating, driven, bloodlusting warriors with purpose that would strike down anything in their way.
vrasku, leader of a raiding party sent out to sew chaos in the mark, burning farms and villages alongside wild men.. he led the company which ambushed and killed an entire group of scouting rohirrim led by prince theodred, who died from his injuries. vrasku was killed in the battle, but he took a prince with him.
Galadriel is strongest orc
What about shagrat?
@@FRAKKKA I guess you are right, seeing through her fog of wall.. Galadriel, a male orc wizard in elf queen disguise (husband was a gay, so he never knew), having the strongest will ever...

@@raf7305 he didn't really do much, other than run away from sam with the mithril, fight with gorbag, and that's it. no infamy, cruelty or notable kills so i excluded him for that.
eg.i could've added guritz because he was a general, showed glee when launching rocks and severed heads into gondor and was determined to keep fighting even after the rohirrim routed them in the field.
@@tomcross3000 Whilst Vrasku did kill Theodred, he shot him with a crossbow at the first battle of the fords of Isen, and was slain in the second battle by Erkenbrand
Azog was probably the most handsome orc in history, that guy was pretty handsome compared to the other orcs , terrifying but still
Wtf
Yeah he’s the most normal looking of the orcs I would say, like bolg has a metal skull plate thing and lurtz is just terrifying. one thing that’s interesting that I think most people over look is how azog (and maybe bolg I’m not sure) has different teeth than other orcs. His are much more human, almost looking like a chimps teeth. Plus, he can shut his mouth which almost distinguishes him from the other orcs who have their teeth on display most of the time. He definitely is the least disfigured of the orcs, which is honestly a pretty cool design choice for the chief of orcs
white is handsome
@@squirrelsyrup1921the hell is that supposed to mean
Orcs are my favorite fantasy species. The orcs of middle earth are among my favorites. Their sadism and the way they waged war on those around them with their war beasts and war machines is one of their most definitive traits that draw me to them.
They were restless beasts vicious and showed no fear in the face of death even being shot with arrows they still kept coming like the orc in the two towers
@@Kas58223 dude that guy had balls of mithril
WarCraft orcs are better
not so one-dimensional
@@hater2764 No, Warcraft orcs are just typical barbarians, nothing special, they are almost same like humans. Lotr orcs are diffrent from any other race
Orcs of middle-Earth are the only orcs. Orcs are not folklore or mythological beings. Tolkien created the race entirely by himself in the early 20th Century. Other IPs who use that word have just stolen his literary creation.
The dude that played lurtz also played gothmog and the witch king.
My dream role
he also played azog

Manu Bennett...?? That's almost absolutely certainly a Maori name - At least 'Manu' certainly is.

Orcs rank:
Snaga orcs
The half orcs were not above almost any of those
I'm not a big LOTR fan (Lore wise) but I feel like Azog being referred to as a Goblin is meant as an insult, and not a literal Goblin. I imagine being a powerful Uruk, the mere thought of being referred to as a Goblin, let alone actually having someone do it, would piss me off lol
In the lore, goblins and orcs are essentially the same thing
I dont think he was an uruk but maybe im mistaken. He was a gundabad orc, The Uruk Hai were created by Saruman to combat saurons orcs after his desire for the ring becomes too much for him to further conceal. Thats why there were orcs with white hands, because they were sent from orthanc by saruman.
Lurtz was a beast of an orc he showed no fear when Aragorn stabbed him with his sword he kept moving forward as if to say that the best you got
lurtz was just a movie character, although i liked him the best aswell
Lurtz was a uruk-hai
@@hater2764 Uh, uruk-hai literally means "orc folk" in the black speech language lol. Also, think about it, uruk is pronounce ooruk which is basically "orc" with a long soft O sound.

Lurtz is the goat. Stood toe to toe with Aragorn arguable the best swordsmen in middle earth.
2nd best, Elrond holds the title of best
Hardly. He surprised Aragorn with his blitz attack and skill but he was very quickly killed once Aragorn realized he wasn't just another Orc scrub. Still a badass. Probably would have been a serious problem for anyone but Aragorn. But like look how long it took Legolas and Tyriel to kill Bolg. Or how long it took Thorin to Kill Azog. Lurtz went out like a joke in comparison. I do think he probably would have shit on Boramir though. Even without the arrows.
@@gsgcmc Elrond was never mentioned to be a good swordfighter in the books! Glorfindel was a Noldor 1 of the high elfs who stalemated a Balrog in the first age which would probably make him the strongest warrior of the third age!

Azog in Petr's Jackson trilogy is a great example of good change in very known and respected fantasy work. I'm not saying that something was wrong with original Tolkien's version but this change was really well suited for this history and Azog became one of the best "bad guys" in fantasy movies (just my opinion).
Lol! Azog was terrible and totally unnecessary.
You're kidding right?
Agreed, he's arguably the most intimidating orc on screen, and not just because he lasted longer than most orcs we've seen.
"The Dwarves build a shield wall..."
*Literally the Elves building a shield wall*
Haha I was wondering how you got 40 minutes out of this video but it made sense after Azog
bro why was he repeating the exact same things after he told us how Azog died😂😂😂 he literally repeated it completely 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"Orcs have no major weaknesses-"
The level 10 Terror Tracker captain with "Mortally Flammable": 🤐
That's always been a problem for me with these movies, how powerful these creatures are is never consistent throughout the movie. In one scene you'll have thousands of them losing vs 10 good guys but then, in the next scene, you'll see one orc show competence in an isolated fight with a good guy, e.g., fight with Arogorn after Boromir is killed.
Kinda like there are diferences in skill from orc to orc, kinda like real soldiers
That's always been the funniest thing to me. There could be 10,000 orcs vs 5 "heros" and the heros would still win.
all men sweat while fighting orcs in general but never legolas
I think Gorbag was far more dangerous and deadly than a Grishnak was.
And since Lurtz is also in the list, who was purely a film invention, it wouldn't matter if Gorbag was one too (which I unfortunately don't know).
So he definitely should have belonged here.
I think Bolg would've been a deadlift champ if there was such a competition in Middle Earth.
He go jim
Boooooooollllllggggggggg
absolutely, and azog might have been decent at bench press.
@@tomharrington7985 if he didn't have a piece of wood instead of a hand.
personally, i think the corrupted elf route for the orks origins makes the most sense. they have features, like the pointed ears that make the corrupted man option seem a little dumb, and i guess i just don't find the rocks and mud option to be all that interesting.
Azog has his points. Props to an awesome fighter fearless and strong and quite a brilliant tactician.
True
Lurtz was absolutely terrifying and besutifully created.
I can totally see Crixus in all of Azog's movements.
Shieeee... now that you mention it...
I thought thorin killed azog
@@its.at_al
Eventually, he did
I'm not sure I'd depict Bolg as 'dressed' in armor and bones. It looks more like sheets of metal and axe-heads were embedded in his flesh to form a kind of armor.
Yeah it's more like body piercing haha!
He kind of looks like Dhukk the pierced in Raid
that uruk hai aragon killed in the first movie has got to be my fav by far. homie was a fkin beast
Azgog was a true fighter. Too bad he probably died before Bilbo’s quest for the Lonely Mountain.
He was coward, he escaped from dwarf child (Dain had only 20 years then)
The Orc named Boldog was the most powerful of all the Orcs. Boldog is a Maiar with level equal to Sauron. He is created by Meikor (Morgoth).
If he was a Maiar he was created by Illuvatar and then corrupted by Melkor! 😉
@@gunnil.6075 just like how Orcs were created as Elves by Eru, only to be twisted into mockeries of elves by Melkor

Rings of Power is not "Of Lord Of The Rings/Tolkien Universe". The writers have even said so. Anything like an ork in that series should not be on this list.
Dude it is 100% lord of the rings universe are you dumb?
They never said it wasn't. Considering they are using same designs and Weta workshop the movies and ROP are linked.
WRONG! YOU don't want it to be part "Of Lord of the Rings/Tolkien Universe" but it is whether you like it or not. No one working on it has said anything close to that. The Show is backed by the Tolkien Estate for camping out loud lmao. Oh and it's spelled *Orc not Ork. If you're going to act like you know what you're talking about, at least make it seem compelling.
I’m truth, outside of criticism about movie CGI or movie vs book lore. Azog was the man.
Bolg is criminally overlooked. He was a better fighter than his father all day
Azog was a badass. Tactical genius and fighting prowess to spare... homie was a dogg.
Halbrand is sauron. There's no doubt. It's been plainly spelled out the whole series so far. Although, each and every chatachter in RoP are equally devious, deceitful and evil so it may aswell be anyone at this point. Can't wait till it's canned and people stop putting it in with any other Tolkien adaptation. It isn't Tolkien inspired other than names.
I didn't even watch the video when I saw he was using ROP footage. People talking in thd comments about Adar like he was actually the first elf turned...ridiculous
It was obvious from the start. Hell, many people figured Halbrand was Sauron just from the trailers, and yet somehow the showrunners thought they were actually being subtle.
If Saruman would have equipped his Uruk Hai with kite shields instead of shields with fang blades on them, he and Sauron may have won the war lol.
Tbf they were designed like that so they could drive them into the ground to create a shield wall for their crossbow men
Found the Shad cultist
If elves and Dwarves from all thier kingdoms wasnt lazy they would have destroy Evill forces easly hah
Love all the small shadow of war clips
"Almost no major weakness"
Can't go out in sunlight......
They can, they just don't like it. Hence why Rings of Power making them actually harmed by sunlight, is so damn stupid. And then on top of that, these orc who now burn in the sun like vampires, have their slaves dig a trench that they cover with a roof of cloth instead of just digging an underground tunnel, and then they have their slaves dig during the day...
Azog to rule them all. fight me!
Laughs in Uruk-hai
Azog was crying when lost his arm and died when Thorin stab him in the chest. Lurtz surived this and was still ready to fight, this Uruk hai would easly destroy Azog
Am I the only one who thought goblins, orcs, and Uruk-hai were all different? I mean technically the Uruk-hai were created by Saruman as larger orcs but I always thought goblins were the smallest and essentially stupid where as orcs were medium sized and slightly more intelligent. But in the actual hobbit book goblins and orcs are the same.
Of all the orcs, Azog got the most beautiful eyes. xD
Fun fact: Azok had a loincloth made of Dwarf faces, but they removed it in the series as it was too scary/gross to look at.
The Defiler acts like a Southsider, tuff with all his hommies, and not so tuff alone.
Orcs have the same weakness that Trolls have. It's called...... Legolas.
For sure 😅
the Rings of Power part could have been removed, as the show is crap, though
When I first saw the movie, I though Lurtz was Isildur corrupted found at the bottom of an ancient river by Saruman
Just subscribed to you channel keep up the great work and content
Seen the rings of power in this category and that’s my cue to exit and laugh :)
Funniest thing is that LOTR orcs, despite having severe limitations of soul's corruption curse, inability to walk under the sun, shorter life span and etc. , were way more advanced than their adversaries in practically every single way. Dark lord's forces were literally employing renaissance tactics such as "pike and shoot" , they understood concepts of "tericio" , "rodeleros" and even "doppelsoldner", unlike bright forces, with their old simple tactics like "charge forward with everything". Same goes for equipment. While overwhelming numbers of humans, elfs and dwarves had just simple chainmail or some late 13th century style armor at very best (with couple of exceptions), most orcs were wearing 16-17th century style plate armor and on top of that, were armed with proper polearms (halberds, bardiches, partisans, spears and etc.) and powerful crossbows. Even their cleavers had pointy spike on the back part of the blade that makes it a chopper with armor penetration capability of pickaxe. Yeah, orc stuff looks crude, but their designs are practical, smart and what's even more important is that those "ahead of the time" things are wide spread in Dark Lord's army. Their logistics was perfect, their siege engineering was insane, their means of psychological warfare were brutally effective, their spies and infiltrators were everywhere, they literally were using skype in times of pigeon mail and had military program to create a breed of super soldier orcs. Result is... well, Dark Lord pulls out a superior army, both in numbers, training and tech.
Don't forget that relatively small orc army literally destroyed powerful white city and it's defenders, killed Rohan's army and it's King. Yes, they lost lots of orcs as well during this siege, but even after loosing so many soldiers, Mordor still had ~10 such armies ready, while bright side was literally scraping the bottom of the barrel and sending ALL they had to win this battle.
Azog so powerful but can’t beat a man half his size in hand to hand combat?
LOTR is still.my greatest and favourite film of all time. The hobbit was also great I loved it. Watched it so many times
There's the LOTR series... and the Hobbit series.. and the cartoons. There is nothing else.
Viggo actually went Sammy Sosa on that knife Lurtz threw at him. It was fully sharpened and functional and he deflected like a boss.
Great Video!
For me ,the top1 is Azog ,i have no doubt on him ,he is the most powerfull leader ,you saw how he control and led an massive legions of 30.000 orcs , bettween 55 and 60 orgres , btw 50 and 69 war trolls , 3 were-wroms and 100 Gudabad wargs ( some with riders ) , he deserve to be in top 1 💪👑
And goblin mercs
Even though the Hobbit movies are truly awful and Azog didn't appear in that actual story, they did manage to make him look really really great and I loved that the Orcs only spoke with the Black Speech.
Love it, you used a bot voice and even called it "Terry" with a thumbnail of a human face.
LOL
Lurtz is basically the giga Chad amongst the Uruk Hai and Orks.
While Azog wailed when being maimed, Lurtz was unimpressed and was ready to beat our favorite King to death with his remaining arm.
Rings of power made me die inside. It's horrible i just wish they would stop bringing old story's back if there just going to kill them slowly over however many seasons they want people to suffer two episodes and i was sick same thing happened to wheel of time So sad. Game of thrones messed up too. I don't even want to start on star wars or what they did to dr jones poor indie...
fun fact that people seem to not know! the new star wars movies, rings of power, and game of thrones was written By George martin. And if you dont know him well once he asked what aragorn did afterwards at the end of lotr and if aragorn did a systemic racial genocide on orcs and also said he wished tolkein said how aragorn did taxes. also if you look at the characters he writes they extremally similar and not in a good way
I love the vid you do bro, keep it up 👍
Azog was so badass
The most overpowered orc is "the stich " I killed it already ten times ,and he still comes back and haunt me ,in my adventure in shadow of war......
Man, I LOVE that game!
I remember finding an awesome orc that I used as my bodyguard. Over time I kept levelling and skilling the dude up until he was a total beast. He literally had ZERO weakness while also dealing massive damage, being immune to fire fire and poision while dealing absolutely insane fire damage.
And then he betrayed me. I was determined to get him back as my bodyguard. But dude just kept killing me and when I did defeat him, I couldn't overpower his mind. Eventually he went crazy and became the main orc in the area. I only defeated him by lowering difficulty from Grave Walker to Normal.
Sounds like a game I should play!
I h8te when Hollywood changes books for movies.

You cannot say in good faith that Rings of Power is good in any way. It's cgi is horrible, it's storytelling is horrible, and it butchers almost every aspect of the books. Just do yourself a favor and never speak about Lord of the Rings ever again, if you think it's "good". Ciao.

This is silly. Any true middle earth fan knows that the most powerful orcs are orc archers. They are responsible for the deaths of several of the most powerful heroes of middle earth.
As a guy who played shadow of war, I can attest to this
Halbrand being the witch king is way off...Angmar is north of the Shire....more likely he is the oathbreaker king under the mountain....locale is closer to where Halbrand would take the refugees after Amon Amarth erupts...

A bit of advice for future LOTR content. Do NOT include any lore or characters from rings of power. It's not canon. As a matter of fact, it's garbage. Good video, otherwise.
He says gandalf flees well before Sauron can capture him ?? Then shows Gandalf captured ?!?!? And he did get captured by Sauron
I’m curious who the other orc along side Azog in the thumbnail is
The terms "orc" and "goblin" are used interchangeably by Tolkien as originally he only used old English mythology as inspiration (such as the Dwarf names and the term Goblin), but later changed his mind and used "orc" which is the same mythological creature but with the Norman name, perhaps a little insult towards the Norman conquest which Tolkien described as the worst thing to happen in English history.
the urakai was a genitic mutattion created by mixing an orc and a goblin , with a biracial child, the genietic strienths and deficiencies was doubled, or tripled.
Am I the ony one who's noticed that Azog is wearing Snow Elf armour??
Nope, I had similar thought. Beside Azog did look like a Falmer with Snow Elf eyes. I think the designer was a Skyrim player.
Which lord of the rings should i watch first? and How should they be watched in order????
It seems like I'm the only one here whose favourite in this list is Adar.
