I just git one of these.... Before I send it, getting M2C front upper Hinge pins and M2C tower, the way the TLR pins float, it takes away a contact point for the bulkhead.
Have done two front bulkheads on the TLR, both times due to the tower being pushed backwards, once was just a little f=li on the ground, snapped the top ears right off. They are great cars though
@@HardcoreRC you need the upgrade I mentioned, the Hinge pin does not connect to the tower therfore the ONLY way the tower is attached to the bulkhead is those two screws, get a proper m2x front upper Hinge pin and it takes shock from the tower into the Hinge pins and away from those ears you mentioned. I know all about an durability test with the Typhon 6s. Had it about 2 feet from the curb one night after work in the parking lot as it usually empty. One lady and her daughter had gotten my attention and asking about them. When we were done a lady in a Cadillac driving by store fronts to get 2 stores down from mine. I saw her and tried to get closer to the curb at the stores and gave it throttle and as it was a little damp and put the Hoons on, it did a 360° and I left it alone for her to go around. She SPED UP running it over from rear to front with both passenger tires. Didn't stop, went and parked and I yelled out, there's $500 down the drain, as she replies "I didn't see it" then ma'am how do you know what I'm talking about? She did not stop to see what she ran over or even check her car after parking. Big Guy upstairs looked out for me as I use my RCs as a tool for PTSD not toys. Cringed while going to look at it as I had just put 2 brand new batteries on first charge in. First thing I checked. 🤣 Thanks to plethora of extra screws an extra front diff case, not one dime was spent to repair it, and now faster than ever running on each time I go out. Replaced broken or bent screws, bent back the fr shock tower and lower hinge pin and just time taking it all apart to make sure nothing unseen was messed up. Not even the wing or wing mount broke, body no cracks, even the wheels where still straight. The towers being higher than the electronics save them, had it been any other Arrma 6s it would have crushed it. But the towers raised her tires over everything else. Had she hit it sideways, it would have demolished it. Now is straight street speed runs and drag races with friends. Right now has the infraction 46 tooth spur and 25 tooth pinion, about to drop in the 38 tooth spool and the same 25 pinion. Baby steps. Arrma tuff baby.🤙👍💯🔥

Yes i believe Ben does ship to the USA, unfortunately he doesn't have a web site, jut the Facebook Page and Instagram, i can vouch for him though as he is very well known in the RC community in the UK and makes great products.
To be honest this really only needs to be run on 4s, Max8 with 2200kv is more than enough, especially as the Typhon is limited to the 6s packs it can take

Next time you can just flip that front plate over instead of drilling it out. It has a hole that is the right size on the other side for that purpose..
I know but i hate undoing those steering post screws - Arrma normally fill them with threadlock and i cant be bothered with the hassle, so easier to just drill it out 😂
If you're going to bash the Typhon , then you have to put on the parts that will take the launching you're doing with the race car. It's a racer not a basher. So if you want to bash it, you have to make it fair and add this part. ARA320500. It weak without the brace. Try again with it. You will be surprised.
It most defiantly is not a race buggy, two simple reason why its not: 1) You cant tune the shocks at all, cant set the rebound or even change the to emuslion. 2) Why would Horizon release a Race Buggy that is half the price of the real TLR race buggy ? the TLR Typhon is pure marketing ploy by Horizon, now i will say its better than a RTR Typhon, but a race buggy it is not. Even with all the bashing we have done with it the chassis is still straight so don't see the point of adding centre brace mounts

If that was installed it would be a different result. What do you mean there are no adjustments. There is more than anyone could imagine. So many . We are still talking about the TLR.??
@@readeracingRC Yes i did look up the part - its Arrma V4 Center Brace Mounts that the tower to tower brace attaches to, would have made zero difference. Did you read what i said ? i said there is no way to tune the shocks, onm a real race buggy you can chose to go bladder or emulsion and you have a bleed valve so you can set the rebound, this just has there bog standard Arrma shock cases and caps, all they did was change the piston, you can not tune them so the car bounces all over the place. As i said its not a race buggy

I would also put a nut on that long screw that you put on the chassis braces so that it doesn't come loose. Great torture test! Upside down down landings have done it lots of damage to my rigs 😅🤣

Get the flips out of my 6s typhon with them katar tires on it tbf ,I'd truggyfi it but then it's like every other basher so iv kept it fairly stock to keep its nimble 🤔
Hey brotha. I value your opinion so I figure I would ask you. What is the best esc and motor set up for the outcast exb 6s? Most backflippy, torqqy for bashing?
For the Outcast EXB i would say the Max6 with 1650kv motor and stick a 19 tooth pinion on, will be plenty of power and not to much weight, the Max8 and 2200 is just abit under powered in my opinion.

Hi. I have noticed that when this buggy lands )I’ve watched many people drive them) that the rear bounces off the ground a lot. Wondering what it could be.
Yes the rear does bound around a hell of a lot, I'm currently trying out different weight oil etc but nothing seems to be fixing it, think it really comes down to the shows and not really being able to tune them, just another reason i say this is a basher and not a racer
I'd argue that the Typhon is much tougher than the Outcast or the Kraton series after watching those jumps. The Outcast's shock shafts would have bent, and the Kraton's bulkheads would have exploded. Great video! Tip from my hobby shop: Arrma arms can be brittle because when they put the screws into the arms, they're using locktite. If you use locktite with plastic, it can snap pretty bad. Dunno if there's a fix, but thought I'd just mention it.
Typhon is know to be tougher except for the exposed shock towers, we have sent the Outcast off this jump many times and not bent the shock as of yet, our Kraton EXB has jumped the highest off this ramp to 59ft high, bulk heads have only ever gone if it landed on the pavement 😂😂 Not sure what your hobby shop is on about as have never found any threadlock on the plastic arms, Arrma do love to use threadlock on metal to metal but never seen it used on plastic. And yes, the Kraton loves exploding on pavement. And bending. Kevin and Claire's videos have convinced me that the Kraton just looks cool, but costs a fortune to actually enjoy. SMH
@@exp2tr10t my kraton has been a blast to run. We beat the snot out of it and jump the thing for hours straight with no real breakages. It was also a great platform for my 7 yo son to learn on. Now he is bashing a outcast 8s and xmaxx. Don’t care what anyone says about the kraton but it’s a beast. One of the best out there.
@@chris81983 And no, I don't hate other brands. I've got Team Associated (TR8), Losi (Mini-T), and Traxxas (Slash series) in my R/C box in my apartment. And I do plan on adding an Arrma to the mix once I DO have the cash and find the truck I like best. Most likely a Typhon (after this video) or an Infraction police interceptor build. Especially now that the infraction has a smaller version! Here's to good times in the future! BTW, what do you run besides the Kraton?
@@exp2tr10t That's ok, don't be sorry, information shared is good 👍. Ah yes the Outcast 8s stock bends shock shafts, the 6s ones are ok. The Kraton EXB is actually our fav car for sending stupid high, although it does need a few upgrades, i would only recommend the M2C chassis, M2C rear Hinge Pin set up, Scorched RC Front Hinge pin holder with M2C hinge pins, M2C Rear Tower brace, think that is about it. Put to many upgrades on and the weight then starts effecting other parts and it becomes vicious circle
4:24 Aluminium Upgrades Rule No.1 - When Aluminium Parts are used, expect other parts of the car to get broken in your next accident. Chose which part to break by upgrading the other with aluminium... So ideally is that you use either all aluminium or all-plastic. Mixing them is not great in case of an impact...
There was nothing upgraded where it broke, that was all stock, exposed shock tower being landed on made the two bulkhead ears snap off, was just a bad landing that did the damage. I do agree that you have to chose the right areas to upgrade though, never understand why people thing ali A Arms are a good idea for example 😂

Looks to me like the shock tower took the brunt of the landing. That would be catastrophic if it landed like that on concrete.

Hey, I do that exact mod where you drill a bigger hole between the front brace and the top plate to insert a bolt. It really makes it stronger. 👍
yep, although the new top plates come with the bigger hole, just means flipping it over, for me far quicker just to drill the hole :)

as long as you get the ones for the Typhon then yes, front is the same as the Kraton, its the rear that you need the one for the Typhon

used to do that but found it hits the center diff outdrive, bit of thread lock and doesn't come undone, have sheared a few though 😂😂

Hey brotha. I value your opinion so I figure I would ask you. What is the best esc and motor set up for the outcast exb 6s? Most backflippy, torqqy for bashing?
I'm putting the max 6 combo 1650 kv hobby wing with a 18/50 gearing thats what I'm going to try
For the Outcast EXB i would say the Max6 with 1650kv motor and stick a 19 tooth pinion on, will be plenty of power and not to much weight, the Max8 and 2200 is just abit under powered in my opinion.
Best combo to get, and gearing should be good, i would say 19 tooth, but 18 would be ok as well

I’m thinking of buying the TLR for an all round rc really. Any specific recommendations for the electronics ? Motor, esc etc ?
As an all round RC just go with the Mx8 2200kv Combo, thats what we have in ours and its a great set up

Just bought a Typhon v5 myself, was torn between it and TLR, I still am unsure if I made right call
Its a tough one, i cant comment sadly as dont have a RTR, we are liking the TLR though

Hi. I have noticed that when this buggy lands )I’ve watched many people drive them) that the rear bounces off the ground a lot. Wondering what it could be.
Yes the rear does bound around a hell of a lot, I'm currently trying out different weight oil etc but nothing seems to be fixing it, think it really comes down to the shows and not really being able to tune them, just another reason i say this is a basher and not a racer

I'd argue that the Typhon is much tougher than the Outcast or the Kraton series after watching those jumps. The Outcast's shock shafts would have bent, and the Kraton's bulkheads would have exploded. Great video!
Tip from my hobby shop: Arrma arms can be brittle because when they put the screws into the arms, they're using locktite. If you use locktite with plastic, it can snap pretty bad. Dunno if there's a fix, but thought I'd just mention it.
Typhon is know to be tougher except for the exposed shock towers, we have sent the Outcast off this jump many times and not bent the shock as of yet, our Kraton EXB has jumped the highest off this ramp to 59ft high, bulk heads have only ever gone if it landed on the pavement 😂😂
Not sure what your hobby shop is on about as have never found any threadlock on the plastic arms, Arrma do love to use threadlock on metal to metal but never seen it used on plastic.

I thought I'd seen a video you put up of the 8S Outcast bending its shock shafts when tested against the X-Maxx? Or am I seeing things? Not critical, just curious.
And yes, the Kraton loves exploding on pavement. And bending. Kevin and Claire's videos have convinced me that the Kraton just looks cool, but costs a fortune to actually enjoy. SMH
@@exp2tr10t my kraton has been a blast to run. We beat the snot out of it and jump the thing for hours straight with no real breakages. It was also a great platform for my 7 yo son to learn on. Now he is bashing a outcast 8s and xmaxx. Don’t care what anyone says about the kraton but it’s a beast. One of the best out there.
@@chris81983 And no, I don't hate other brands. I've got Team Associated (TR8), Losi (Mini-T), and Traxxas (Slash series) in my R/C box in my apartment. And I do plan on adding an Arrma to the mix once I DO have the cash and find the truck I like best. Most likely a Typhon (after this video) or an Infraction police interceptor build. Especially now that the infraction has a smaller version! Here's to good times in the future!

Ah yes the Outcast 8s stock bends shock shafts, the 6s ones are ok.
The Kraton EXB is actually our fav car for sending stupid high, although it does need a few upgrades, i would only recommend the M2C chassis, M2C rear Hinge Pin set up, Scorched RC Front Hinge pin holder with M2C hinge pins, M2C Rear Tower brace, think that is about it. Put to many upgrades on and the weight then starts effecting other parts and it becomes vicious circle
4:24 Aluminium Upgrades Rule No.1 - When Aluminium Parts are used, expect other parts of the car to get broken in your next accident. Chose which part to break by upgrading the other with aluminium...
So ideally is that you use either all aluminium or all-plastic. Mixing them is not great in case of an impact...
There was nothing upgraded where it broke, that was all stock, exposed shock tower being landed on made the two bulkhead ears snap off, was just a bad landing that did the damage. I do agree that you have to chose the right areas to upgrade though, never understand why people thing ali A Arms are a good idea for example 😂
