Can you tape rope and then cut when using hot knife method?
You probably can but the tape won’t melt as nicely as the rope does. My favorite is the tape-cut-melt method. Happy climbing!
Should I take the tape ever?
No, just leave the tape on. If it starts coming off, put on a few extra layers. Be sure not to overdo it though, so the rope won’t get caught when pulling it down from the anchor or such.
