In this week's video, Kent State Media and Journalism Associate Professor Luke Armour gives examples of public relations at work in our world, from the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to Ohio's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you think you'd enjoy a college major that incorporates writing, strategic thinking and public speaking, consider checking out the Public Relations major at Kent State: www.kent.edu/mdj/public-relations.
CCI Explains is a series of instructional/how-to videos that will teach you how to tell stories, design and communicate in meaningful ways from the comfort of your home. The College of Communication and Information at Kent State is the only college in the nation that offers programs in the distinct, but interrelated fields of media, design, communication, technology and information.

Super grateful for this highly informative video! I'm a fresh grad and I just landed my first job as a PR Associate for one of the biggest PR and Communications agencies in my country. Thank you for this!

Came to study...picked a laugh at "changed alot" with the hand gesture. Yes sir...I got it.😂😂😂😂
Great video!
Dear Sir, Thank you, it was easy and very helpful to understand.
Sir I am really greatful for this video but can be helping us write down the key points like the definitions,
I liked this video because of the violin in the background 😂
@Kent State University,
Fo those who see "communicating or relating to publics " is not the ultimate lurlose of PR but rather a way to achieve the ultimate purpose, what would you say the ultimate purpose of PR is?
If it is to educate, engage and inform the publics, than what would the ultimate purpose of educating, engaging and informing the puics be?
I used the ALS and Dove ones in my recent industry analysis report. Thank you
what is your opinion of Edward Bernays?
Om shanti k good day please find attached the following ad listing

So... Like marketing? 🤔
The industry widely defines marketing as anything that facilitates the exchange of money for goods and services. While PR can support that, these examples are about changing attitudes and possibly behaviors outside of that financial transaction.
When women wear slacks and sleeveless polo shorts they aren't pretty except the 2% you were referring to. It is amazing what a beauty makeover will do to how women feel about themselves but you don't need expensive marketing research to tell you that. The rest of the video is the nuts and bolts of PR. You still need those people who can see what most of us can't see, but say that it was obvious when you point it out to them (people never change in that respect).
