- Beautiful Elizabeth Montgomery on her third day playing "Password" with funny man Jim Backus which originally aired on Wednesday, December 14, 1966 on CBS.
Liz is best known as Samantha from "Bewitched". Jim is best known as Mr. Howell from "Gilligan's Island" and the voice of Mr. Magoo. The two appeared together in the feature film "Johnny Cool" where Liz met her third husband William Asher, who was the main director and co-producer of "Bewitched".
Many of the outfits Liz wore on "Password" she also wore on "Bewitched."
shows had so much class back then....thanks for posting this
Elizabeth Montgomery was a STUNNING BEAUTY! A real head turner!
What a beautiful hairstyle Liz had back then. Blow dried with a modest flip. A classic.
Honestly Elizabeth was probably one of the best password players alongside Betty White. She was also such a sweet woman. You can tell she pretty much played herself on bewitched rather than Samantha.
David Ciullo I totally agree! Elisabeth was one of the kindest people I've ever seen! As I've written about before on so many of these videos is that I just adore her! She is part of my life and our collective consciousness. I grew like so many people with Bewitched and from that time she captured my heart. She is soooo missed!!! Thank God for videos such as these and DVDS. So future.generations. will know what a contribution she's made and how incredibly awesome she was/is!!! Rest in Peace Elizabeth. I love and miss you sooooo much! P S. I also have the entire series of Bewitched on DVD!! It's awesome and worth every penny I paid for it!
Elizabeth Montgomery, is without a doubt, the most beautiful woman, and person, to come out of Hollywood.
Thank God these tapes weren't erased or used over like the first decade of the Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson. So many priceless moments lost.
Liz was not only the most beautiful woman in Hollywood but she was a very kind person!
Askar Kul : GOOD. SO. BEAUTIFUL.
This was impressive!!!!
Ms. Montgomery was so beautiful! 🌟
RIP Elizabeth Victoria Montgomery. God Bless.
Finding the password... I'd be near speechless if i was sat next to Elizabeth Montgomery😊
Trudy is easy on the eyes, too. :-)
Is it me or actress of the 60's and 70's looks more elegant than those current stars of 2000ish. There's something classy about the way they talk and behave themselves back then... Watching now reruns of Bewitched and seeing her in this makes me imagine what was it like to meet her in person. She seems geniunely warm and friendly..... Ooooh time machine!!! heheh
Redbougainvilia No it isn't you. I sooooo wanted to meet Liz Montgomery growing up! When she passed away in 1995 with colon cancer I was completely heartbroken and devastated! I remember thinking to myself, "Oh my god Samantha died! She was/is such a big part of my childhood and life today! I so wanted her as my mom growing up! All these later I still do! No comes close to her in grace, charm and beauty! And NO ONE EVER WILL! She was/is an absolute treasure and gift you us all! May her sweet soul rest in peace. I adore her!
that is nice to know. i grew up watching the re runs of bewitched and yup i agree with you her charm and grace even on interviews.... i just wish there's a lot of those bewitched days interviews available online...
Redbougainvilia There are a lot of documentaries on Utube! Its a treasure trove! I recommend Bewitched: Behind The Magic! Its a really in depth look at the show. Also there are many interviews with the cast as well as Elizabeth children and family. You will enjoy it! God Bless!💖💖💖💖💖
Alan Ludden was smooth 👊🏼👊🏼
i love that whispering..."the password is adrift" WHO SAID THAT!?!?!?
I love her.
The good old days....people were classy, funny, and dressed up!
Liz was gorgeous and I can't believe all the stupid people on here making comments that have NOTHING to do with this clip.
l remember this, l was 9yrs old, it was nice to see her doing something else than Bewitched, she did die to young, but a great unicef , spokesperson , and doing things for aids, one of the first to do so, he star on the walk of fame was after she died, that was sad to see, she was a bigger actress than hollywood new, she deserved more, way more, my fav.
gotta love that Mr. Magoo moment at 4:47
TE AMO ELIZABETH MONTGOMERYY Y LOVEE
The same heart necklace she often wore in Bewitched.
Danger O'reilly Her husband at that time (William Asher) gave it to her
She was hella cute
Eliabeth died too young!!
@AminaBellini Yes she was. She is terribly missed.
Notice how Alan immediately picked up on the improper tense when the contestant answered "crawls".
English...
Damn, shit has changed.
@mojoidol They aired on the Game Show Network several years ago. I wish they would air them again.
i am a 50 year old hispanic born in the usa and elizabeth was my 1st crush as a kid because i was not a bigot when i was 6 years old.
@AminaBellini Oh sweetheart Elizabeth passed away May 18th 1995 of colin cancer.
A week before my Dad. 😥
@1sttony7 You said: count on me, It meant that's a good thing to know!
Eu amava vê ela, é uma lástima saber que ela já está morta. me sinto muito triste.
What'd I'd like to know is if anyone of these contestents (or surviving family members)
log on and see these old clips! There were no VCRS then, so they must've thought they'd never see themselves again after nearly 50 years! Would be interesting if they commented!
It's a shame they have to do original game shows that don't hold up as well as the great classics.
@1sttony7
You know I realized it just as I was posting it, thanks for the heads up!
@1sttony7
Will do, any time man! It's always good to have some one to assist you when your having a brain fart, lol!
Não tem tradução 😔....Brasil.
It's Samantha vs Mr. Howell. I hope Samantha doesn't use her witchcraft on this show.
Her father was a superb actor, John Montgomery!
Mark Conti I'm sorry to correct you six years later but it was Robert montgomery😂
Her father was George Montgomery...
I got it wrong too...George was Dinah Shore's husband...
Dripple? Is that a kosher clue for "drip"?
@1sttony7
That's whats up!
Jim Backus was born on this date in 1913. {Feb. 25th}
Sadly, Mr. Backus passed away on July 3rd, 1989... May he R.I.P.
@1sttony7
