It's almost 6 years since my cancer diagnosis and I was really fortunate with my surgery, chemo and the support I got. I watched your channel at that point anyway but there were 4 channels that I leaned on heavily during my treatment. I still remember sitting in the hospital watching your Godzilla videos. While I won't claim that your channel saved my life or anything, it did make those tougher days easier to deal with. Thank you so much for that. I hope you and everyone else has a great Christmas.

Definitely a FUN entry to the stand-alone Milllenium-era G-Flicks. Megaguirus wasn't the most inspired villain monster, but a nice throwback to Godzilla battling Kumonga or those giant mantis-creatures. "Not only do the CGI trains run on time," "The quickest way to a woman's heart is with a bullet." Happy 70th, Godzilla!

I love how this dude can pump out a godzilla video, with Toho's notorious copyright. While anime abridged channels pop out one or two a year, and then need to wait upwards of 3 weeks to get them out of copyright jail
The plot is silly and the humans are meh, but this one is a guilty pleasure for the monster action. Megaguirus is one of my favorite kaiju, if only they had waited until their CGI was better and they could have made her use her super-speed abilities more liberally and with better effect. She's really good in the Pipeworks game, fast and strong and able to steal an enemy's health, weapon energy, and even their breath/beam weapon like a monster Mega Man. And I really like the music for the final battle. Speaking of the Gryphon, if you haven't already you need to check out the fan-made video of the Gryphon fighting Godzilla Junior and Legendary Godzilla, it's awesome.
I think this is one of the more underrated godzilla films. It’s the last godzilla film that felt and was genuinely original with it’s concepts and Megaguirus is a rad monster. I don’t agree with the cgi criticism, as I think it looks fine given the time, CGI in films and shows like this were never that high compared to what the rest of the world could do. Compared to the stiff animatronics in godzilla vs mothra, the megaguirus puppet and fight is way less stiff looking by comparison. Also Like the Ultraman Jet comment on the griffon, cause this whole movie honestly looks aesthetically like an ultraman show from that period.
I have a soft spot for Godzilla '98 for one reason only: I lived in Manhattan at the time & had no idea they were filming it. I was walking on a deserted rainy sidestreet near Grand Central Station , where the huge cornice of a building was sitting in the middle of a trafficless street. I looked up and the real cornice was fully intact on its building.
“Sir, Godzilla’s attacking Osaka! Should we call in the Air Force? The heavy artillery?” “Nah, just send in a dozen guys with bazookas. I’m sure that’ll work.” *Awkward silence* “But sir, we used far greater weapons than that in 1954, and they didn’t do anything.” “Well then, I don’t suppose there’s any point in using them again, is there?” “Sir, your logic is impeccable. I’ll give the order.”

I have a film request Blades (1989) It's a Jaws parody where instead of a small island town getting terrorized by a giant shark during the build up to the 4th of July celebration, it's a country club being terrorized by a possessed lawnmower during the build up to a big tournament. It's got everything you could want from a Jaws parody/ripoff, goofy characters, lots of gore, a BANGER soundtrack, bad acting that sometimes turns into good acting, characters filling in for Brody, Hooper, and Quint, it's played completely straight, and best of all, it's a Troma Entertainment film...kinda Troma only distributed Blades, so it doesn't have much of what makes a Troma film a Troma film, but it's still a fun watch, highly recommend you watch it and cover it on the channel.
The one exception in the Millennium Series is *"Godzilla x Mothra x* *MechaGodzilla: TOKYO S.O.S."* (2003) which is a direct sequel to *"Godzilla x* *MechaGodzilla"* aka *"Godzilla Against* *MechaGodzilla"* (2002). It even has connections to two other kaiju films: the original *"MOTHRA"* (1961) with Hiroshi Koizumi reprising his role as Professor Shinichi Chujo, and *"Gezora • Ganimes • Kamoebas:* *Decisive Battle! Giant Monsters of* *the South Seas!"* aka *"Space Amoeba"* (1970) with the dead body of Kamoeba (which had to replace Anguirus to avoid fan outrage) that washed up on a beach.
For me, Godzilla vs. Megaguirus is a bit in the middle for me. I like the alt-history stuff with Osaka becoming the capital (the Diet Building being the same frame the Osaka Castle was a nice touch), the gun that shoots black holes gives me Half Life vibes, and Megaguires's origins were pretty interesting. Overall, I'd rank this movie at a good 6/10. Not bad, but it wouldn't be the first thing I recommend to newcomers. That honor belongs to the next installment in the Millennium Series!

I've always enjoyed this Godzilla movie when it came to the "Millennium Era" of Godzilla movies. The part when Godzilla leaps into the air and piles onto Megaguirus is definitely a "Standout Moment" from the franchise. Megaguirus's reaction alone is enough to make that scene pure gold.
My favourite part is when Godzilla's fighting Megaguirus at the end and he quick draws his back spinal fin like a samurai cutting the monster's arm in half.

Weirdly, the black hole gun attack is essentially like the Pressure Cannon from Guyver which fires balls made of black holes.
