Oh nice video! Love Cortale and people who help us! I mean, people from red cross of Italy organized for us children to be in families all over CZ and other cities! I come from Croatia and there was war! I think i was been in Cortale in year 1994 and 1995! I love to be in Cortale with one nice family! They helps me a lot! Lived in their house in Christmas and summer! Cortale is so nice place with amazing people! Cortale will stay in my heart forever and people who help me and other children! Hope to visit Cortale someday!

Can't thank you enough for this video. I showed my 92 year old father and he loved watching it. His father was born in Cortale...and many of my ancestors were born and raised there. My father was never able to get there, but thanks to you, he has now gotten to "see" it. ❤

That home with the number 1 on it at 32:50 was my grandmother's home. I only ever visited her once in 1980. My mother, Caterina Foderaro (maiden name) emigrated to Australia in 1968. Thank you so much for this video. You have brought back childhood memories for me.

My great grandmother was Isabella Foderaro (maiden name) from Cortale. She was born around 1862.

Thank you for this video! It has brought back childhood memories. My mother was from Cortale and she took us there a few times as children. She emigrated to Ontario in the Niagara area in the late 1950s. Family name Davide. I actually think I caught a glimpse of the house that she still owned in your video. Sadly my mom passed away during Covid . My siblings and I have been looking into how to go about claiming the property she owned there and left to us. It was interesting to hear that the government will aid people in restoring old properties. I would love to find some information about that!

I love this video, makes me remember my days in different small towns in italy, empty roads like a paradise. Lot of churches in a same town, and Lilly, could you show us the bells ringing at different times in every single town. The bells sounds in the different churches, different melodies which is amazing. Even when we see those houses looking old and ruined outside, the inside are great, because people do have nice things inside, and lot of stone made stuff there.
Could you show the stone building sector? it s amazing how they extract the stone to build lot of things and it s not expensive...
I would love to take a passegiata there...

The state of Rhode Island (USA) has a very large Italian population. They came from all over Southern Italy, especially Cosenza. The town of Westerly, in Southern Rhode Island has a very large Calabrese population, 1st-4th generations. We came from Acri (Serricella), Cosenza, most of our village moved to Westerly. You may want to go and visit Acri, the home of Santo Angelo. I was born in Calabria, raised in Westerly, RI and now live in San Diego, CA. You're absolutely correct, Southern Italy has very clean air, good spring water fountains, good weather especially near the sea, and very good fertile soil. Ciao!
