    crossfitsouthbend.as.me/inbod...
    In this video we explain the basics of what an Inbody scan tells you and how to interpret your own report.
    Unlike a traditional scale an Inbody scan can tell you.
    -Your ideal weight relative to your height and weight
    -The total amount of muscle in your body
    -The total amount of fat in your body
    -Your Body Mass Index
    -Your percent body fat (this is the most important part of the test)
    -How much muscle you need to gain for ideal body composition
    -How much fat you need to lose for ideal body composition
    -Your lean body mass which is a decent proxy number for the grams of protein you should be consuming per day
    -The total amount of calories you burn per day
    So, it's a pretty comprehensive and informative test. To sign up for your first scan - contact us with the link below!

    I was shocked to find out that my BMR is much lower than other previously available BMR tests on the market indicated I needed to survive. I was eating on the assumption that I need 2,200 calories a day, when in fact I only need 1570 calories a day. It explains why I couldn't lose weight. Now I have adjusted my daily caloric intake to 10 percent below the 1570 calories and started a cardio program again and now I am losing weight steadily. Ugh! We Americans need to eat WAY less than the food industry shoves down our faces.

    • @nomasodio
      @nomasodio 2 года назад

      @@DistantColorado It doesn't sound like you are trying to lose weight. The InBody Pro takes your age, gender, and height into account to determine your BMR. With that knowledge, I am undereating and burning fat for fuel. If you have a healthy percentage of body fat, you need to eat enough to fuel your workouts.

    I just got mine done at my local gym near my job in Rialto, CA, and I’m pretty fat, lol. I gotta start somewhere and have been slowly losing weight. The guy told me to come back next week and he’ll rescan me on the house since he said my numbers might be a little off since I was drinking water and lifting weights beforehand. No one told me I wasn’t suppose to eat, drink, or exercise before doing the InBody analysis.

    in the first area discussed "Muscle-Fat Analysis" the video says "%" when explaining the gray area, for example Weight or SSM, it is pounds not % note that the area is measuring pounds. finally says it correctly for Body fat mass

    • @Crossfitsouthbend08
      @Crossfitsouthbend08  4 года назад +1

      Hi Jo-Ann, in addition to the lbs for weight and muscle mass which are listed as the big numbers 174lbs and 56.7lbs respectively there are also percentages listed for these areas that are represented by the smaller numbers listed above the lines. So, for example, while this person's smm is 56.7lbs it represents roughly 130% of the muscle she needs based on height, age, sex, etc. Hope that helps.

    I took the InBody test when I joined my new gym and was totally surprised. The at home scales always read me as 23-25% which fit my self-image, but the InBody gave me very positive results with 20% body fat that went down to 18% since I started working out 6 months ago. I basically have perfect results and I makes me wonder if the results are real or not... sounds too good to be true.

    Good explanation. Question: Is the segmental lean analysis based solely on scale weight? TY. And, BMR includes digestion? I was thinking only physiological needs not including food thermic effect.

    • @Crossfitsouthbend08
      @Crossfitsouthbend08  4 года назад +1

      Segmental lean analysis is based on muscle mass. If you're asking does the BMR calories they list include the general amount calories required to digest food the answer is I believe so, but I'm not 100% sure. As you pointed out if someone consumes a higher protein diet that will generally affect the calories involved in digestion through the thermic effect of food. It might be worth asking InBody HQ for the exact details on that.

    What is What is the difference between “SMM” and “Segmental lean distribution” on INBody smart scale? Last month my “SMM” was 31.1 kg but now it is 30.5. However, on “Segmental lean distribution” all parts except legs increased - 0.9 kg increase on upper body and 0.4 decrease on legs. So there is more increase than decrease, then why SMM has decreased?
    I would apprecite a lot if you answered, im VERY confused

    • @Crossfitsouthbend08
      @Crossfitsouthbend08  4 года назад +2

      I'm going to preface this by saying that I'm not entirely sure, and I'm not an official representative for Inbody so it might be worth contacting them. That being said here's my sense of what's going on. SMM=is the sum of all the skeletal muscle in your body, Segmental Lean Distribution=is the amount of muscle specifically in your arms, torso, and legs. The various SLDs do not perfectly add up to the total SMM because there is other skeletal muscle in your head and neck that is not accounted for in the SLDs, which only covers things from the neck down. Again, that's my guess, and I'm not 100% sure.

      Hey there, It's hard to tell without seeing the full inbody however per the inbody site - "Because muscle is made up of mostly protein and DLM by definition excludes body water, if you see your client’s DLM increase, then generally this is seen as a sign they have gained muscle."

    • @Crossfitsouthbend08
      @Crossfitsouthbend08  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey there!
      -could cause dehydration, the inbody works on bioelectrical impedance which is affected by hydration levels, so this can skew the BF %
      -caffeine can also mess with electrolytes which are key conductors in the bodies bioelectrical system
      -caffeine stimulates the nervous system, increases heart rate and blood flow - this might slightly alter electrical conductivity in the body
