I feel like Instagram has enhanced the comic community. I've bought comics there plenty. Even had someone find a book for me in their town when my shop was out. I love the content that you guys do about the #igcomicfamily
I barely decided to sell my comic collection and vintage toys online, I took you're advice and posted my collection on Facebook pages. They were blown away first by how I acquired my collection, I was given comics by the boxes in mint condition from all eras (bronze, silver etc etc)by my cities first serial killer who just had a episode done on him on a Netflix show that put him back on my cities front page last month. His art is incredible, growing up he friended my father and during his incarceration he made me my Halloween costumes, posters, pillow cases, bedsheets, and what I still hold near and dear to my heart my own personal comic book of my favorite heros and villians going at it. I even had his art tattooed on me. I'm finally ready to sell my collection but don't know how, I was bombarded with comic book collectors, some who own comic shops so my dilemma is how do get rid of them, by bulk, individually, the worth of some is insane, thank you ComicTom I'm new to this if you could steer me in a direction that be so dope, I sent you a picture of a Spanish Captain America by Marvel I got in Mexico in the late 80s or early 90s Idk if you saw it. Thank you for you're videos they've enlightened me on things I never knew, I have an illness their is no cure for this is the only reason I'm parting ways with them. Thank you again, great channel.
I’ve been buying comics for years on ig and being apart of the family has been awesome. I tried to do a few live sales with not a lot of success. I have books posted as well but not many bits.
Thanks a lot for the tips guys! Up here in Canada near Toronto! I’m only a couple years into collecting and I find IG great for consuming comic content and finding new avenues of interest under that “comic umbrella”! It’s awesome for purchasing so far. Haven’t sold anything but have been interested in learning the ropes. Thanks again!
I have been purchasing comics on Instagram from my comic store lately through Instagram. They would have a live video and people will DM their claim to the book in question. They can also send you the invoice through PayPal or you can take care of the transaction curbside.
I think 1 major tip that was not talked about, is learn about SHIPPING. I've only been selling on IG for a week and forgot to add the shipping cost on the first item that I sold. I already accepted the guys money so I didn't want to go back and be like "hey forgot to mention you have to pay shipping". I just ate the shipping this one time and it ended up being vastly more expensive than the item itself. Very embarrassing, but I just took it as a lesson.
Hello hope all is well. I have a question for the IG comic fam. I have 2 IG accounts. On one of them I’m selling comics the other is more of a pop culture community. My question is would it better to keep a comic selling IG and community IG separate or should these both be combined? What do you think would work better for sales and over all awesomeness? Thank you!
Really enjoyed this podcast. Would love to hear/see more like it. I (like Cloontrooper) have been thinking about selling on Instagram but am unsure how to do so. I.e. do they have a way to take bids on comics?
Awesome video. I’ve been really curious about buying books on Instagram, but am ignorant of the process. Always seeing auctions and books for sale at very reasonable prices. Would like to know how that all works. Thanks!
Hi Tom, I don’t fully understand what you guys mean when you refer to “pressing” a book...if you have the time can you please help explain? I’m a 3 decade long time comic fan but I’ve never pressed anything or even tried. Thanks for you time
it is a special process to make a comic flat and press out non colour breaking spine ticks from a book. Some people do it with a heat press see Economics in Comics for that. If you ship them to grading companies they normally have a process to have them pressed if you ask. I think it involves humidity as well at the grading companies but I am no expert.
BRY from bryscomics gives way better information on this subject. I know this is kind of an old video, but halfway through you guys are coming off a bit snobbish. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate your videos and all the information you have to give, but being snobbish in any circle is never good for the fam in it’s entirety
Brenton shanks I was kind of nervous on my first purchase. It seemed sketchy and like everything bad could happen. But I’ve never had a bad experience buying on IG.
Is anyone here in UK selling comics on Instagram? Or know of anyone who is? I'd love to be a part of that community. I'm building up a collection as we speak, and would really like to trade/buy off people too!
i am new to the thought of selling on instagram and i really need some help. i have a great collection and i want to sell because i dont have the space for them anymore.i have about 3000 comics and about 80% are key dates, intros,origins,issue1&2. my problem is i dont know where to start.please help or point me in the right direction thankyou
Ryan Sargeant lol same I never got into it and am not familiar with the hashtag stuff yet I just use Instagram and Facebook to share my shitty art lol.
Doyal Winston spend some time in the explore page commenting and hitting Like on different things...fine-tune the algorithms to work for your advantage!
Check with your local government Before running a raffle. If it is for profit then it is defined as gambling in most states for which you need a gaming license if it is allowed at all.
I buy quite often of IG and a piece of advice I’d give out to buyers would be don’t “claim” books and not follow up on closing out/ paying the seller, no one likes a slacker 👁 keep kicking ass guys! - @Stonecutters.comics on IG
I’ve been selling on IG for a little over 1 year. My page is Incredible Haul Comics. It’s been a blast. What’s worked for me most is the amount of time invested and always keeping my prices at a fair price. When pricing I always consider that the buyer is spending shipping, so you figure a $1 book now became a $4 book if shipping was $3. Would you pay $4 for the $1 book if you found it in the wild? Consider your shipping cost when posting, helping out other collectors. My main advice is if you are selling, sell as if you were buying. Remain true to why you fell in love with comics in the first place. Sell with a hobbyist mentality, not a scalper 🤪 make friends, communicate, and always..always...package your books correctly. And as always “Stay INCREDIBLE!”
Thanks so much for the 3 tips!! Great advice and I’ll implement them all . You’re RUclips content is fantastic
The comic book family on Instagram is amazing. Just finished an amazing trade. I’ve seen people do DM sales as well.

Storfolios are great even when visiting the shop on NCBD. Keeps the books safe, easy to carry and doesn't look weird.

IG buying/selling scares me. What if you pay and they dont send? Ulsure they get banned but you just lost $1,000
Use PayPal they have a report system and would help you get money back

Great info.
Literally just downloaded Instagram after watching some of your videos. How do I go about finding people to buy from?

Whats a good place to find comic book runs that started 2 or 3 years ago? new to collecting.

TURN UP YOUR VOLUME PLEASE! Think about your hard of hearing fans. Try to be as load as the commercials, and ad speech to text captions.
Have you guys tried selling apps like letgo or facebook?
I sell on eBay and Mercari and Mercari has been awesome! The fees are really low and there’s a lot of inter action . Facebook groups are great as well
One thing I have always wondered is what tools you guys use to find out the print count on a comic book?
I have 10k in inventory of incredible issues in a year on eBay only sold 150 issues only made a few grand how to best sell to clients
How do you find these groups? I have no idea where to look or start.

It seems Insta is much more social than I realised, I haven't utilised it that much until now...
I've never pulled the trigger on IG.
Brenton shanks I was kind of nervous on my first purchase. It seemed sketchy and like everything bad could happen. But I’ve never had a bad experience buying on IG.
I am planning on selling comics on insta. But I only have 114 followers at the moment.

How do I find people who are interested in buying comics on Instagram?
you use hashtags like #comicsforsale and follow other selling accounts so you can possibly be popped up as a recommendation for a follow
Hashtags hashtags hashtags...I was shocked to learn they actually served a purpose beyond just triggering my unbridled rage
Ryan Sargeant thanks man that was really helpful u might have just helped me find a way to make some extra cash.
I am fairly new to the IG game. How do I connect from IG to a selling platform like Paypal?
Check with your local government Before running a raffle. If it is for profit then it is defined as gambling in most states for which you need a gaming license if it is allowed at all.
BUB'S COMICS good call on that - I’m not a tax advisor so always look into your state rules and regs when selling on the internet ✊
That’s why raffle money is sent via friends and family 😉
NLC_Productions that only settles taxes. If gambling is illegal in your state, so are raffles.
It’s only illegal if you’re caught 😉
NLC_Productions 🤣🤣🤣👍
Started Instagram account because of this podcast. Now I gotta actually use it @comicbooksnthings
Can you post the best #'s to use on IG.
Do you have another video giving tips for selling comics on craigslist?
Johnny Future not yet 🤙 good idea
👍🏼👀👍🏼
