@@JoshuaJClarkeKelsall “One must have a heart of stone to read the death of little Nell without laughing.” (Oscar Wilde) ha! Little Nell is from the OLD CURIOSITY SHOP right, not DORRIT ?
I've read it several times and I don't get it! The story seems under developed... like I could give you a summery of the plot and there would be little more to the book than that- and it doesn't feel like that much of a plot, unlike say A Good Man is Hard to Find. Could you help me here? Tell me what I'm missing?
For me it is more of a character study. The plot isn't as important as the characters being affected by the actions of the other characters. Specifically Miss Havisham, Estella and Pip's relationship to each. I just find it really fascinating.
It was my fist Dickens, we read it in school and watched the black and white film (I think from the 30s/40s maybe). I enjoyed it at the time but I remember little now. Looking forward to getting there eventually.
I am reading Oliver Twist for a classic book club meeting, Your analysis is very helpful .
Didn’t care for the book , I liked Great expectations
Interesting analysis . Great presentation. Little Dorrit and David Copperfield are my favourites. Thank you !
Thanks very much, I'm glad you liked them. I love David Copperfield. Not read Little Dorrit but I am looking forward to it :)

Great review
Great Expectations is my favorite Charles Dickens novels.

(BTW, my user name is misleading! I don't do as much reading of things as I should!)
