That's the thing. I get Sheldon, he doesn't mean to act that way towards his friends. He doesn't mean to be a jerk. It's okay to call him out sometimes but to play tricks on him? That's just cruel. Since the beginning he saved Leonard's life(the staircase implementation) and many other times we can see he truly loves his friends. Why do people need to say it 10,000 times that "I love you" when Leonard was about to get the surgery Sheldon was so worried if something might happen to him, he went the hospital to see him when he came to know, he helped penny and even though his relationship with Howard was rocky he said that Howard will make a great dad to comfort him. He has low EQ but that is not his fault. As he said to amy "I didn't mean to" (when she said you broke their heart) honestly I would love to have a friend like Sheldon and there are a few people who hate him without even realizing he's trying to be the best friend and husband he can be, if he's quirky and has some issues that doesn't mean tricks can be played on him, he even noticed Leonard rolling his eyes at him and was hurt that his best friend aka Leonard is leaving his world. I am aware of his faults but the way he connects to his friends and does his best to help them out just makes me happy. If people could just understand someone like Sheldon. He's so loyal and he's one of the reason for Leonard and Penny being together for a long time otherwise they would have broken up for good. He let Raj work for him when his visa expired and he made Bernadette forget that she's going to be a mom and said he's there for her when she needs to step out of her responsibilities. He also was upset when Leonard didn't tell him that he had returned even though Sheldon missed him so much. There are so many more instances but it's going to be very long. My baby, I love Shelly💕
@@axley444great points, it also shows how much they love Shelton to by putting up with him, even at the worst of times, the season finale was their breaking point when Sheldon was more worried about getting sick from Penny, instead of being happy they were going to have a baby. Im no PhD in psychology but this definitely goes back to his childhood, being so intelligent hurt him a lot too, everything was Shelton, no matter what, plus with his schooling he really never was around kids his own age, just all adults. And since he knew he was smart, everyone else knew too so Sheldon did take advantage of it, he even said "complain a lot to get your own way and always works for me" So in some ways his fault also, everyone told him he was special so there were different rules for him. Like I said his friends put up with him because they loved him and they knew his inner self, his loyalty , his kindness, but he deserved to be abandoned in the last episode, even Amy who defends him piled on him too. Sheldon's speech was wow. That's how you end a tv series

The problem is that we fantasize this kind of friendship but when a genuine caring , nice loving friend come in people's life they mistreat them take for granted , like I've been taken for granted many times and yes I had the qualities above mentioned , so please respect good people around they're hard to come by!
I think this might have rooted from sheldon's chracter of always thinking of concepts as black and white. Perhaps his rs with leonard and the others might have led him to create another contract called trust that didnt need words, just feelings
Leonard and Sheldon relationship was really the core of the show. As dysfunctional as their frienship was at times, Leonard sums it up best : He's a little broken and he needs me. I guess I need him too.

They aren't .. just ... friends .... They are brothers! Leonard is always there for Sheldon, he takes care of Sheldon and he is always there no matter how difficult Sheldon can be at times. On the other side, Sheldon always has Leonard's back, he can't really tell in words what Leonard means to him but he shows it in actions. He always longs for Leonard's affection and friendship, he is holding onto Leonard and if you pay attention to their friendship, you will see his fear for Leonard leaving him because Sheldon knows he is difficult at times and he knows Leonard is the only one that can actually accept him for the person he is, with his weird little habits and all.

I have to admit.Yesterday when I finished the series for 3rd time I cried so hard because one of my favorite series has come to an end.The first time I have watched TBBT was back in 2019 when the series ended.I didn"t even know the series existed until I saw an episode on TV.From that moment,I had a special place in my heart for the show.Sure,it may not be always funny or entertaining but it still has something that makes you love the show.
This has made me cry the fact there are people that struggle as much as Sheldon out there and they don't know what it's like to be normal but they have friends that love them this much.
