  • Hear from Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides after their loss in Minneapolis.
Clark scored 23 points in Minnesota, but the Indiana Fever suffered their first loss since the Olympic break, 90-80, to the Lynx. It was a big night in Minnesota, both because Clark was facing the team she grew up rooting for and they were honoring legend Maya Moore but retiring her jersey. Clark idolized Moore as she grew up in Des Moines.
It was a sellout (19,023) at the Target Center.
The Fever were within one point at halftime, then turned it over six times in the third quarter. They were outscored by nine points in the second half and Napheesa Collier was terrific, finishing with a game-high 31 points. With the win, the Lynx (22-8) have already clinched a playoff spot.
For the Fever, it marked the return of Temi Fagbenle off the bench. The forward had been out since July 2nd after suffering a thumb injury and needing a cast. She had only played in 11 games this season.
Kelsey Mitchell scored 21 points, but they got 12 points combined from their front court of Katie Lou Samuelson (0), NaLyssa Smith (2) and Aliyah Boston (10).
