This is actually my first legacy figure and you guys can say whatever but you people are not going to stop me from saying that this is probably the best start for the Legacy line.
What we say is pretty simple. It is a good/okay figure. But a really bad representation of Prime/Animated Bulkhead. He just looks like a pre-tool of whatever is up next. And that is a shame since Chefatron actually shows you really really good Bulkhead figures that he owns! And knowing his record he only keeps what he really likes, so him still having those figures should tell you a lot about those 2 older figures. They are really good. This does not compare to that.
@@dgray3771 good point bro, although, i might correct you on my use of the older bulkhead figures... i actually repurchased them just for this review... i had sold them off together with the other figures in the line as sets so it would be easier to sell... i needed funds back then (and to this day actually LOL) but i do regret parting with them years ago since they really are terrific figures...
I got this guy on a whim because he looked cooler in person than in pictures and I love it. Yeah, he's not a good replacement for Prime Bulkhead, but he is just so much fun as a figure!
Ive been consider pretool options and like you said the inferno moldmates came to mind but I just don't see them opting for that since we just got that. I could see it converted to animated wreckgar. Since just redo the tarp shell into a dump truck back and head swap... It'd "work".
It's not intended to replace the Prime Bulkhead. It's meant to fit in with WFC/Legacy. You also don't need to remove the tarp/shield at all. So effectively no partsforming.
I honestly hope not. This is not the way for Prime figures. They should have Prime esthetics. Not G1 style. And they should give us UT figures. It's time those fans get some love. Even though I'm not interested in either line. But it is their time now.
I love this figure in my opinion, I was always a fan of bulkhead and just prime in general and when I got arcee I was deeply disappointed, so I was skeptical about this figure, but I got it for 30 at target what was nice, my only disappointment with this figure though is the lack of waist rotation.
Actually, I love this figure in this entire wave! Very GIJoe truck indeed, and love it! Comes with lots of accessories for a Transformer figures. I give it 9.8 out of 10.
That Toy Guy made an amazing point on these figures Generations used to be new takes (sometimes leaning towards movie style) on classic characters so this is pretty much a return to form Classics Mirage wasn’t what you remembered was it? No, it was a new take on him these figures may not be what you remembered but they might not have exactly intended for it to be Yes it’s these characters but it’s a brand new take Bulkhead especially is a brand new take Skyquake is probably going to be the same way. The only problem was when these first got leaked people were like (oMg nEW PRiMe fIgURes bASed oN orIgiNAL deSiGNs AHHH) when in reality we got more stylized versions people got to hyped and bombed these figures when they didn’t need to be when I put my legacy Arcee in a wheelie stance I see the character it doesn’t matter to me these are characters I love and their back and the fact hasbro cared and that we have animated down the line too is just awesome I’m excited for Skyquake I’m excited for Armada Megs and I’m thrilled for tarn I don’t care if their G1ified as long as I can see and feel these characters I’m more than happy
i have no problem with "re-imagining" transformers... look, i was pretty excited with the movie optimus prime despite being a huge deviation from the G1 material, so i'm all good with that... my concern is that for a "re-imagining" to work, it should be done well, and should look better than the original version...
Don't get why the problem with the partsforming, the G1 Optimus toy partsformed the hands. Like the toy, but gonna pass, can't wait to see the Beast Wars Inferno and Dragon Megatron, might get the stunnticons, never had a combiner before.
Parts forming is not a problem if it is a necessity or part of a character's look. Let's say Inferno or Ironhide having a drillhand. Something like that. It becomes an issue when the character doesn't need it. Or actually, Bulkhead never had parts forming, to begin with. Same with shellforming. We all accept Scourge and sweeps to have shellforming since that is his MO. He always was a giant flat space sub/shoe. So we always accept it. But with the WFC Arcee, we hate it because it is just lazy and we know it can be worked around since T30 Arcee looks Arcee and has a lot less shell.
@@dgray3771 But in this toy the 'partsforming' isn't bad, the shield is well integrated in robot and alt mode, hell partsforming doesn't make a bad toy, the weaponizers were great same with SS Sentinel. Shellforming is more of a problem due to bad concept design imposible to implement in real life because physichs or budget.
@@krtos7514 Parts forming often is a cheap way out to give you a slab or a stick to attach to the alt mode. Which is unnecessary. In this case they could have easily given a full transformation and add an additional accessoire. But to cut costs they did this. Also G1 Parts forming was a initial toy design. And modern plastics didn't exist that could handle stress as well. If you ever owned a G1 Prime. I got 2, you'll notice the plastic is hard as a rock. Same for most toys back then. It's a different composition. Either way Hastak started to develop other techniques to make full body transformation possible. And attach the accessoires hidden or on 5mil ports. Making Parts forming a non essential part of toys.
well, after years of toy engineering advancements... you would think they would have evolved from parts forming parts... same bro, it's the best time to be a Transformers fan and collector!
Esta figura de bulkhead parece que hizo ejercicio por eso se ve cuadrado pero se ve bien tenia mis dudas de esta figura pero se ve bien buena comparacion con las otras figura de bulkhead de las series de prime y animated
I don't know if it's my copy but I hate how the chest connects to the waist. The part than connects to the transparent bit on the chest comes undone easily and stress marks are already showing.
i totally get everyone’s dislike about this figure. i honestly think we won’t get a replacement for the prime figures for a while. back then the designers put more love into the toys and had a larger budget. i personally love the legacy line so far. even though a lot of it is redecos and retools i just love all of them. it’s a chance for me to get characters i could only dream of for retail(albeit insanely inflated) price. the only figure i’ve been disappointed by so far is skids. i just find him lacking. arcee too but i stuck a sniper in her hands and i honestly think it works really well.
