Don’t make the mistake of underestimating trump’s insanity. Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Romney, anybody that voted for impeachment should be given blanket pardons.
Why shouldn’t Trump use his new found power to destroy his political opponents? Clearly the last four years Democrats used their power in an attempt to destroy Trump…..but failed. Trump will make someone the example.
@@KarenMiele That's certainly the default perception. The answer is no. A pardon is an admission of guilt to a crime. Criticizing a political figure is legally protected free speech. If Trump goes after his critics then he will be the one breaking the law.
If a pardon meant that I didn’t have to go into debt defending myself in court due to a dubious charge? Didn’t Trump use the irs to go after comey? He is a dictator in the making. Norms don’t apply. ‘
I agree! Accepting a pardon means acknowledging guilt. All of us need to hold the line together and resist Trump’s unjust, lawless agendas. Courage will set us free!!!
I think that in shutting down this phenomenon, we the people need to push the federal legislators to hold an impeachment hearing under the the 14th Amendment that bars an Insurrectionist from ever holding office again. The Congress needs to represent the people and impeach Trump once he is sworn in on January 20th
That was truly the most ignorant statement ever posted. Republicans controlled the House of Representatives, Senate and the White House. Are you a foreigner?
Nixon had not been charged with nor convicted of any crimes (other than being listed as an "unindicted co-conspirator") when Ford pardoned him in 1974. Nixon accepted the pardon.
Pardons can be announced before any investigations or charges have taken place. They also don't need to be made public. I think Biden should pardon everyone Trump might go after out of revenge. The pardon doesn't have to be made public unless it is needed.
@@ThePonderinglife Thanks for the answer. Can you point us at the U S. code that lays this out? I'd always assumed a pardon could only be granted post-conviction. TIA.
Claiming that Democratic "self-restraint" is the culprit here is beyond hilarious. Even if you ignore all the blatantly partisan and probably illegal measures taken on the liberal side, the trick would have been to simply ignore the "phenomenon" of MAGA and stop giving credit where incompetence obviously rules. Report the facts, not the figurehead.

And more. Government workers merit a one-time million dollar severance benefit and pardons as well.
They wouldn’t need a pardon if they haven’t done anything wrong. So you’re saying that they have done something illegal.😮

Democrats need to be clear-eyed about their opponents, and start using power when and where they have it.
Where do Democrats have power?
🤣 this is just liberal coping after hyperventilating before the election

Its so frustrating this man was even able to run again. Shame America

The Trump party, instantiated in 2016 with R realignment, will not be holding any ethical stance.
How does he pardon someone when they haven’t been brought before a justice system yet?
The idea of a preemptive pardon may sound odd but it’s been done before
I had that question too. Good to know there is a preemptive option.

What if he orders a state AG or prosecutor to go after them? What about IRS audits?
Then we will find out if Trump’s political enemies are without sin?
