- The adventures in Hungary continue and this time we're exploring the city of Gyor before visiting Pannonhalma. Both can be done as a day trip from Budapest and we had a fun time despite the rain. The streets of Gyor are so cute and colourful and the archabbey in Pannonhalma has the most impressive library we have ever seen!

At least one traveller decided to journey Hungary, and not only decide that Hungary is only Budapest and done. Nice job with the videos.
Thanks! :)
Yeppp. This my hometown. :) Győr is amazing city in Hungary. Thank you this trip video :)
Was bored - looked at google maps - found Lviv, (huge old town for some reason) - searched for it on youtube - found you - no longer bored - subscribed. In other words: thanks for making these videos! Keep it up! :)
Hahah..love that you found us and thank you! It's great to have you on board ;)
What do you mean by for some reason?
Usually I'm not really into traveling channels, because usually they only visit the most famous city in a country, but seeing your trip across Hungary, enjoying your trip made me subscribe to your channel. Nice videos, very great job :)
PS.: If you ever come back to Hungary ( I hope you will) I would advise visiting: Szentendre, Pécs or Eger, depending on which part of the country you are visiting. Keep up the good work and thank you for not only visiting Budapest.
Thanks so much for the comment! We'll definitely be back to Hungary soon and looking forward to exploring more of the country :))
Cuteness overload!!! I feel kind the same about creating something. Congratulations you already created my favorite YT channel, and you should be proud cause your passion is already making impact on this world.
THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH
WES!!! AHHH!!!! I LOVE your talk on why you make travel videos!
I feel the SAME way about it!
We love to explore and share that experience with everyone we can!
Keep making awesome, you guys!!! :D
Thanks Anton!! Great minds think alike ;)
I can't help but marvel at your resilience and positivity. Had I been in your shoes that day, I would've ended up cursing at the weather with the worst grudge, seeing but grey dirt where you saw the flowers. Yet maybe that's what the power of wandering with the loved ones is. Props from Cracow.
Well.. there might have been a bit of cursing outside the video ;) But all we can do is try to make the best of things!
"Every day may not be good but there is something good in every day"
Üdvözlet a Győrieknek!!!!!👋👋👋
Guys you are awesome! Best travelling series about Hungary. Next time you should visit Nyíregyháza and the eastern part of Hungary. Best regards : Zoli
Thank you Zoli!! We plan to see some of the east so we'll try and visit Nyíregyháza too :)
i like this place , and agree on the restaurant :-)
Hey lads. I love your videos, big fan of yours. If u r in Hungary next time please come to Kecskemèt. It's a very nice old town with beautiful buildings and some cool museums. I'll show you around.
Take care
I grow up in Pannonhalma!
Sport bar is actually the second most awesomest candy bar in Hungary right after Túró Rudi :)
Also funfact time ;) The founding letter of the Pannonhalma Abbey contains one of the very first latin-scripted hungarian writing(we had a runic script before), that is even tho in a broken kinda out-of-place old-hungarian, but still understandable today after 1000 years(try reading sg in english from the viking age). It goes like "Feheruvaru rea meneh hodu utu rea"/ On the way of the Fehérvár-bound military passage.
You are so funny, guys! I am glad you found your passion! I know what you mean! I got mine as well!
Happy to hear :)))
you should go to Sopron too.
So much to see, so little time! But Sopron looks beautiful
Wow , that library it is amazing, congratulations and good luck both of you 👍
Hi, there!
Gyor seems to be lovely. Toruń is almost two times bigger than that Hungerian city. You should visit Jelenia Góra in Lower Silesia, Poland. You would be delighted.
By the way, Toruń was very crowded yesterday.
Actually the size of Győr is 174,62 squarekilometres, and the size of Torun is 115,75 squarekilometres. So yeah...
Guys your are so good and REAL! Kisses from Greece 😊 tomorrow we fly to Budapest for a dour day visit! Great videos! Thank u
Thank you Cristina! We hope you're enjoying your trip so far :)
You should go to Pécs. It is one of the most beatuful and interesting places in Hungary. 😉
Thank you for the recommendation :) We'll try to see Pécs before we leave!
this city looks really nice.
Iv been at the parlamint
stumbled upon your channel guys. (Esztergom my hometown) So good to see all the places you visit in Hungary. Makes me homesick here in London. keep the videos comming! thumbs up!
Thank you so much :) We really enjoy sharing our adventures in Hungary and hopefully we'll even make it to London one day!
guys if you travel to hungary visit to Pécs and Nyíregyháza. Both cities are very beautiful . sorry for my english, i'm not very good in this language.
let's go explore Gyor :)
Let's go! :)
thank's to You guy's I can finally see how it is there in this countries in a relaxed way :)
Your videos are cool, keep rolling :) the key of life is to find a passion for anything. I'm still searching, but you gave me hope :) ♡ you guys, mua
Thank you! One day you'll find it ♡♡
Felicia sounds a TON like Kirsten Schaal! It was irking me for so long, but i couldn't quite place it till now!
Pannonhalma Archabbey! That place is real cool. It's a tremendously exclusive school, too. going for over 1000 years now.
Another cool fact, is that King Stephen's letter of decree is in that library. Written in 1001!
Also, at the basilica, the heart of Otto von Habsburg, the last Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary is located.
My grandparents dissided to Melbourne in the 1956 revolution, and i';ve been going to Hungary regularly. Helps that i speak the language semi-fluently though. So yeah, kinda in the same shoes as Wes.
Cool!!
Beautiful town, but this weather are not. Maybe in summer it will be better place for holiday.
It's certainly something. Your creations are great, I love them!! btw ask your dad how to pronounce Győr! :-)
How long are you going to stay in northern Europe? it's going to get very cold soon. It snowed in Krakow today.
Snow already? It's definitely colder now but I think next month we'll start to head south..
Hey Wes, marry Felicia!!! Be The Man.
Haha! Okay I will! :)
Okay so I live here in Győr and you were at my favourite restaurant :D next time I should show you around cause you havent seen much of the best things here :P
We would love that! Missed a lot this time around because of the season but I'm sure we'll be back in Hungary soon enough :)
Hi Dorka!! My sister got acccepted to do her PHD at Széchenyi István University Győr, but she's kinda scared to go there alone. She has a lot of question about how life is going to be in Gyor. Can you maybe help us by answering our question through email? We are a bit worried. Thank you....Sorry if my english is bad.
Edit: there's not a lot of information in google
Hungarian pronunciation lesson: The name of this town is pronounced 'dyuhr'---in Hungarian 'gy' sounds like 'dy' in English and the ő sound is made by pursing the lips and saying 'eh'. So 'Magyar' (meaning 'Hungarian', noun and adjective) is pronounced 'Maw-dyawr'. And remember to roll those r's.
You are writing-transcripting hungarian like a welsh. :) And you are not far from the truth in history... but that is another story.
What exactly are you talking about? I didn't say a word about history.
Hey guys, I don't know how much time will spend in Hungary but I recommend to try some ruin pubs in Budapest and visit the Memento Park because these are absoltely unique experiences in Europe! I also saw that you visited many cities but you haven't been to Szentendre, Pécs, Sopron and Kőszeg, I think these are the charmiest little towns in Hungary so make a try! ;)
Thank you for the tips!! We'll definitely check out the ruin pubs and hope to see Pécs before we leave :)
👍👍👍
Love your videos from Hungary! Gyor seems to be a very nice place to visit :)
What are your plans for December? Are you going to visit some European Christmas markets or do you prefer warmer places in Southern Europe? :)
For Christmas Markets I recommend the Alsace region in France (near to the German border). I lived there for couple of months and since then I can enjoy Christmas like a child again, I just loved Alsace.
Check out these places: Strasbourg, Colmar, Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr and Kaysersberg. Just google each name + add "Marchés de Noël" (French for Christmas markets) and see the pictures. "Colmar Marchés de Noël" etc. etc.
I just googled some of the markets and the photos look amazing! So many beautiful lights and decorations. We will definitely be in Europe next month and are excited to check out some Christmas markets. The one in Budapest just started this weekend actually. Not sure if we'll make it as far west as France on this trip but will definitely keep your recommendations in mind :D Alsace looks like a place we would definitely love by the looks of it!
Wow are you just in my hometown ? Unfortunatelly the weather is like crap currently and completely unsuitable for walking around outdoors. Go to the bath (which is really good in Győr) and hop in the thermal water that's the only good thing to do in these cold days.
BTW its not Ghee-or. You gotta learn how to pronounce the letter 'gy'. It's like prronouncing 'd'+'y' at the same time. Plus the letter 'ö'. That's much easier, because you have that sound in English too, it's like the middle of the words 'her' or "first". IDK if you know forvo, if not then check it out:
forvo.com/word/gy%C5%91r/
And yeah you gotta stay alert at the cashier everywhere in this country, because you might be ripped off especially if they see that you are a foreigner, but they aslo do it with the locals if they let them do it. There are just a lotta lotta douchebags here who don't give a damn about law, man, God, whatever but only the chi-ching
SPORT XL :D
Haha :D
You guys are goofy in a very lovable way. Thanks for taking me back to my old country. You gotta work on your Magyar pronunciation.
you are very cute two of you really, I use to see your video clips here ,but I must say that his time i disappointed because I wanted to explor Gyor with you, the city I was born, but most of the time I saw your closed up faces only, never mind maybe on your next trip
:)
:) Thank you for the recommendation!
