    Győr, the general location was inhabited at least since the iron age. There was the main town later city with high and thick stone walls, fortified abbey, chloister, tunnels and catacombs streching far and wide. And there were the surrounding villages, farmers fishermen, craftsmen, etc. now all assimilated into Gyor, preserving the old village names as "district" names. I was born and raised in Gyor, in Revfalu district. It merged into Gyor in 1905. This city is full of history and deep-running culture. If you can, please spend a whole week discovering this wonderful city. Your head's gonna get dizzy from all the sights and nice things the city can offer

    Győr is sometimes called the "City of Rivers" because the Rába, the Rábca and the Mosoni Duna all flow into eachother in Győr. And the Danube doesn't flow in Győr. It is the Mosoni Duna (Mosonian Danube). It is a divergence of the Danube that starts near Bratislava (Pozsony) and flows back into the Danube just northeast of Győr. And this makes an island in the Danube which is called Szigetköz. There is a pretty nice village east of Győr. I think it's called Bábolna. There is a nice palace thingy there.

    Yes, Győr is the most developed city in Hungary (there are smaller not real cities around Budapest, like Budaörs, Budakeszi, which statistically richer, but Győr is a real city). Yeah, Győr's architecture austrian baroque because the city was inhabited mainly by austrians in the 18th century when the baroque part was built (it's german name Raab). These germans - after one generation - turn to became Hungarians, but their names and cultures still visible in the heritage. More west to Győr, more closer to Vienna, there is an another jewelry box town directly on the austrian border, Sopron. I recomend you to visit there also, as well as to Kőszeg (nearby Sopron)...

      That is true for almost all train stations in bigger Hungarian cities, unfortunately.
      But it is so much work, it is crazy work to redevelop all of them.
      We have to rebuild so many things, it takes time and loooooooooot of money.

      YT's automatic translator can't deal with agglutinating languages at all.
      But, you should see the automatically generated English subtitles to an English film where someone speaks with a Scottish accent 😁, now that's funny.

    • @hundvd_7
      @hundvd_7 2 дня назад

      @@accaeffe8032 But this _isn't_ youtube's automatic translation. It isn't even bad at all, actually. Way better than this fucking mess.
      Turn on captions and see for yourself. English, then Auto-Translate to Hungarian.
      It is still way better than the hardcoded ones, though it does falter at places like 2:20.
      _Or_ you can just completely ignore the subs that he added manually in the captions, and choose the auto-generated option. It has better timing, better grammar, and because of the latter, it can be translated _perfectly_ to Hungarian.
      But even then you will still see the ugly hardcoded ones under the correct ones, so the only real solution is to just _not_ do that for the next video.

    Dude. These subtitles might be the worst I have ever seen in my entire life. Just take a look at 2:22 and tell me you think that is in any way acceptable.
    If you don't know Hungarian, and can't make someone else do the translation for you, then _please_ just leave it to youtube.
    Remove the two different, hardcoded subs. Then upload them to youtube in the form of an srt or something. _In English._
    Then, just leave the machine translation to RUclips. It will automatically do a better job, I promise.
    And instead of the effort of hardcoding both versions manually (which is very time consuming with 2 languages), put some effort into fixing the punctuation and spelling, so that machine translation will have an easier job.
    And this would also solve a whole host of other issues with hardcoded subs:
    - I want to be able to turn it off
    - I want to read only one language at a time
    - I want to auto-translate it to other languages, too
    - I want to be able to control the size so it isn't too distracting on desktop, but legible on mobile
    - I do not want cream-colored serif fonts
    - I will be able to choose a font (the default) that has no issues with Hungarian-specific letters like ő

    • @thisisFrederikCornelius
      @thisisFrederikCornelius  День назад

      Sorry, our problem is that a lot of people don't know how to turn on subtitles through RUclips. And we have experienced that not so many people understand English. But thanks for the critique. We will work on it. Hope you have a great day :)

    • @hundvd_7
      @hundvd_7 День назад

      @@thisisFrederikCornelius I completely disagree with the fact that people can't use subs. Both my parents (in their 60s) know how to use it perfectly well, for example.
      But if you _must_ create your own subs, then at least please get the punctuation right. You are getting _embarrassed_ by the auto subtitles.
      My mom, who doesn't speak English, would *not* be able to understand half of what you're saying because the meaning is lost.
      This is because your English version is already broken, and that gets multiplied in the Hungarian one.
      Also make sure you pick a font that actually supports the language you're writing in.
