how lovely, and now for a wonderful summer with family.
Thank you, hopefully the weather stays as beautiful as it is now ☀️
Naw Chantz. Thats so nice that your parents made the trip to Auckland.
Hopefully the weather is not too bad in NZ, while they're there.
Look at those beautiful modern airports in South Africa, and then you get to Auckland airport and it's back to 1966.
Yeah, it’s awesome 😅 their first week wasn’t great weather, but it’s ok, they were recovering from jet lag. It’s been so nice the last week ☀️
Luckily Auckland Airport is undergoing lots of upgrades 🤗
So wholesome! I love how they show their travel 🤗 Must be so exciting to show them your new home ❤
We are beyond excited to show them our new home and surroundings 🤗 and they’re absolutely mind blown with this beautiful country 😅
@@BeingBedingfield I am not surprised at all, I told you right from the very start it is such a different and safe country. Returning to New Zealand is an absolute dream come true. The thought of it already makes me emotional.
@@thamarvandeelen6261can’t wait to meet up with you guys once again 🤗
I'm so happy for you, a year feels so long
Thanks so much 😊
Awesome!! 😊
😊
Nice guys - enjoy your time together
Thanks 😊
I knew it! I had an inkling that your home language is Afrikaans!! Ja, ek is ook half boer, so daarsy. :) Yeah, this is the same flights that my in-laws took when they visited NZ in April this year, much better for them indeed. And well done for coaching your folks on taking video, and I'm sure you gave them strict instructions NOT to film in portrait mode. hahahaha.
Ag, but it is going to be awesome having the parentals around for 3 or so months. Looking forward to the adventures showing them around.
Haha, yeah, home language is Afrikaans 😅
Hope your in laws had a great time in NZ?
Lol, I kept sending them messages as they connected to wifi in the airports to remind them to take video 😂
@@BeingBedingfield ahh they were real superstars :)

@@BeingBedingfield I know… it happened so quickly. But you’ll have a place to stay when you visit.
What an awesome blessing to have your parent's come and visit you both here in our country 🌼🌷⚘️.
I hope they enjoy their time here ❤
Thanks, it’s amazing having them here. They’re loving NZ so far 😊
As an Aussie I was working on a project and living in Merensee when the Covid 19 hit RSA. I had to get a South African mate drive me down to Durban because Richards Bay airport had been closed down. It was really eerie when I got to King Shaka such a huge new terminal building with only one check in counter operating it was like being in a ghost town. The only flight to Joburg I could get on was with the budget carrier Mango when I finally got to Joburg it was the complete opposite of Shaka absolute bedlam with everyone trying to get out of South Africa and to make it worse all of the airline lounges were closed. We were on the last Qantas flight from Joburg to Sydney before Australia shut down all international flights into the country. Great to see things are back to normal and that your parents were able to get safely to NZ. I know how they must have felt flying to Sydney in economy especially being their first long haul flight at least I got to fly in buisness class and I a got pretty used to doing long haul flights - I flew that Joburg/Syd leg at least 12 times over a 20 year period. I,m retired now and we prefer to spend our time travelling Australia with our caravan rather than flying around the world. Enjoy your time together in NZ....
For a lot of New Zealanders Sydney to Auckland is a treated as a domestic flight.
Can’t wait till we also see it that way! Unfortunately we have to get visas to go to Australia 😢
I absolutely loved the parents vlog ❤❤can we please have a parents takeover video😊❤
😂😂what a great idea!
You guys are so lucky they came to visit! My in laws came last year December after 3 years in NZ and my parents probably only in 2025, saving is key!
Some questions for you/them:
1. How was the Qantas 12 hour flight? Did they manage alright?
2. Getting into Sydney and then to their next boarding gate, was that ok? How long was their layover? I did that Qantas flight in 2016 when I first visited NZ and thought it was manageable but going through the security in Sydney was a bit stressful :P The staff on Qantas are amazing though.
3. Have they found NZ cold so far from the 30s in SA?
4. How are they doing with the jet lag? Melatonin tablets has been my trick for long haul to SA and back, we went to see family in March. Cheaper going back :P
4. Tips for other parents coming to visit their kids in NZ?
Hi Carmen, thanks for all those questions, we’re hoping to do a Q&A video soon 😊 we really hope you get to see you parents soon as well 💛
Enjoy yr time with yr parents. You’ve got lotsa catching up & I trust they bought u & Craig some South African goodies. My grand nieces partner is Sth African. Live in Brissy & named their 2nd dtr Knysna. Enjoy, I’d better get back to work. Cheers
Thanks so much for watching! Aww, Knysna…that’s a great name!
When we go back to the UK its off one 12 hr flight straight onto another for 12hrs!
So hectic 😮
Congrats to the Boks, so sad for us kiwis to get sooo close :-). You need to get to the South Island!
Thanks 😊 we really felt for all the AB supporters around us 😢 but the team did so well with just 14 players 💪
We can’t wait to get to the South Island 🤗

Ek kry eintlik 'n traan vir daai ontmoeting met jul ouers...met dien verstande dat ons(my vrou en ek) hoop om aanstaande jaar ons seun te besoek wat ook in Auckland is.
Ek gaan nog 'n paar vrae vra later?
Julle is welkom om ons ‘n paar vrae te vra 👍😊
Check INZ rules iro talking about visas etc.
It says that you can talk about any rules/share info that are available to the public on their website. So that is the only information that we can talk about. We don’t give immigration advice, simply pointing and referring to the INZ website.
In September my journey to Port Elizabeth took me 40 hours to get there. Miami to London. London to Johannesburg. Johannesburg to PE. Then back to Miami in October 30 hours to get back.
What a journey 😮
