What if the A legendary was originally a Zygarde from an alternate dimension, possibly one of the other UB's?
A Zygarde that grew hungry for more power and eventually learned to absorb beings other than Zygarde cells, absorbing everything within that dimension including that dimension's Solgaleo/Lunala, making it capable of opening Ultra Wormholes.

I think the Ultra Recon Squad calling this hypothetical “A” ultra beast “The Anomaly” would be really fitting because my thought being it didn’t only just randomly show up in Lumiouse but also in Ultra Megalopolis and the Ultra Recon Squad failed to defend their world against it and that caused it to fight with Necrozma which made Necrozma steal all the light of that world to basically regain all the energy it lost while battling the “A” Ultra Beast.

Also a fun idea for the “professor” character in this game would be someone who witnessed or is a descendant of those ancient alolan tribe people (I can’t remember how long ago that was on the pokemon timeline) who witnessed the battle between the ultra beasts,the island guardians,lunala,solgaleo and necrozma.This would give the professor character more depth and could also help the URS give you infomation.
The Anomaly Pokemon (Ultra Beast) to come into conflict with the Order Pokemon.

A Water/Dragon Type UB Chaos Pokémon that goes exactly against Zygarde, who is a Defender of the planet.
Its purpose is to Attack everything.

Crackpot idea: what if the threat is some sort of infection. An infection that corrupts Pokemon, causing them to run wild and turn against people. What if the villain during the first part of the game is Zygarde? The Kalos war led to the creation of a weapon powerful enough to both create mega stones and split a timeline. You think Zygarde wouldn't have noticed? You think Zygarde would just ignore such a powerful weapon being made, and let the species that created such an abomination go free? No, Zygarde may try to elimate humanity in an attempt to protect the planet. And it does this by using it's cell to control Pokemon to then use against humans. This could also fit in well with the theme of trying to bring people and Pokemon closer together. What if by the climax at the game, Zygarde stops treating humanity as a threat, and as just another species it has to protect. Which leads to the MC and Zygarde teaming up in order to defeat the A legendary
Tbh it's a good way to replicate the noble Pokémon battle system since Giratina was the one who frenzied them in Legends Arceus
Whether GameFreak will actually do it is the issue. Special Pokémon like Ultra Beasts and Paradox always make the story more interesting
I love the UBs! I hope they actually come back. Zygarde is one of the few legendaries who actually have a (kinda) connection with them. So this would be perfect! Not to mention that "Mega Evolution", which we use as "the good guys" is a perfect counter for the strong UBs. This would be a fine way of adding new Megas and UBs at once 👍
Yeah and with the ultra beasts tons of other ultra space native Pokémon (I hope that there are hundreds of them) invade lumiose and the people and Pokémon (hopefully there are hundreds of brand new Pokémon native to kalos in lumiose) are all trying to survive the invasion and attacks

The plazas could either represent those 5 Zygarde cores or 5 Tapus.
An additional point to the ultra beasts invading Lumiose would be the fact that the Ultra beasts aren't in scarlet and violet....just like XYZ trio. Food for thought
For the "Ultra Beast King", it could be related to the Sun and Moon series. In the final episode of the Sun and Moon series(SM146), Ash, Pikachu, Rotom Dex & Solgaleo(Nebby) discovered an Unknown Ultra Beast. Maybe that Unknown Ultra Beast will appear in Pokémon Legends Z-A.

@@zorubark In Thank You Alola, The Journey Continues(SM146), Ash, Pikachu, Rotom Dex & Solgaleo discovered an Unknown Ultra Beast they have never seen before. However, the unknown Ultra Beast was never shown onscreen.
With this idea it would be cool if the A legend “absorbed” one of the legendaries in the first battle when fighting it. You beat it with the counterpart legendary and then it “absorbs” your counterpart legend in a last ditch effort. After that here comes Zygarde 100% to finish the battle. I thought scarlet and violet did a good job with the one ending fight and how you had to use only your box legendary so I think Pokémon could do this but it’s all in speculation of course.

Let us email him about this. I highly doubt he checks any social media nowadays, including his own comment section. I think he only checks his email for fan theories at this point, and RUclips for posting videos and his own comment.
I feel it's important to realize that Legends Arceus really copies the story of Diamon and Pearl, there are a lot of parallels when you compare them. Rescuing the lake trio/visiting their cave. the red chain breaking, and a lot more. So to understand what would happen in Legends ZA, we have to understand what happened in XY and how it happened. Even though Game Freak can spin the narrative in any which way they want, so it is just unexpected really...

Interesting theory. It is said that team skull was formed around a different kahuna that was defeated. What if that group had an island Deity that was defeated by tapu koko and that diety was darkrai. If you look at tapu koko without the shell, it looks A LOT like darkrai. I feel like the old kahunas fought and this is where koko when it uses its z move it turns into this big kahuna like character. What if darkrai has a form like this? Also makes sense for the sun and moon symbolism with darkrai being one half of the lunar duo. What if it too had a shell and was the head of the other skull kahuna. It does have that red thing around its neck that looks like a lower jaw. Maybe koko broke the rest of it off after dethroning darkrai as a kahuna.
Now that you mention it, Lumiose city looks like crop circles!
Love the idea of Zygarde coming into conflict with Ultra Beasts. I mean, Ultra Beasts are pretty much an invasive species, which would obviously cause them to come into conflict with Zygarde due to him being the defender of the natural order of nature.
Having UBs in the past could have another problem of calming them or restraining them because Aether has not made Beast Balls yet. So it could realistically not be made into a side plot. They are alien invaders who even if defeated, cannot be contained for long.
I like the idea, but I wonder if the Noble Pokemon will be Megas instead. Now, they could do both: give mega evolutions to Ultra Beasts.

I could definitely see Pokémon going along with the idea of an A Ultra Beast King. The name could be something along the lines of UBK-Assimilate where it has an ability that allows it to fully “Assimilate” Xerneas and Yveltal into itself in order to achieve a form similar to mega evolution.

Ok this is never going to happen but imagine if the game takes place not only in lumiose city but also in ultra megalopolis. I think ultra megalopolis kinda looks like lumiose city in a parallel universe: it’s a big circular city with an iconic tower in the middle. It would also be awesome to explore more of ultra megalopolis and it’s lore and would make the map twice as big because current one seems very small.
WOW! I didn't think of it before but most ultra beasts are based on invasive absorption things. Bamboo, mosquitos, guzlord eating everything, parasites, power absorption, and clowns suck the fun out of things XD.
this seems more fit for necrozma, it gathers light energy when it senses the UB-king awakening, the absorption ability- loses HP every turn like leech seed & it can also fuse with Pokémon & UB. the only way you can defeat it is with necrozma or Pokémon with similar stats in your team.

I can imagine this UB king being Poison/water sense it’s about absorption and destruction. Plus it would give Zygardes ground/dragon type more use sense it has a rye weakness to Xerneus and Yeveltal.
Okay, but just a theory… so in the Blueberry Academy DLC, they introduced the mechanic of the Pokémon link thing. What if that was just a test for PL Z-A. You have to use the mechanic of linking with and controlling your Pokémon to explore Lumiose, it could have a deeper connection to Mega and actually having to build the bond with your Pokémon and then maybe using that connection for more like Ash-Greninja evolutions. This would be beyond, but what if you have to build a bond with Zygarde to fight the big bad? Starting off at the 10% forme and working up
What if in the non-mega timeline its because an ultra wormhole appeared over the ultimate weapon shot and sent it to ultra space into guzzlords dimension. It turned the zygardes into guzzlord and destroyed that reality. For the people that dont kniw, james turner or whoever designed perfect zygarde and guzzlors did it together and they are kind of meant to be parallels to each other or a distorted version
If ultra beast are included i could see a good story being built around a new ultra beast that could mega evolve
What if they called it something like the aligned one cuz though absorbing things it almost seems to align it's self with those things

Continuing from my last comment the shot of lumoise from above reminds of me of crop circles, crop circles have been associated with aliens in all types of media like in movies and shows most of the time showing up when Aliens land on earth I think what I’m getting at is that Lumoise in a way could be a giant Alien hub, I don’t think that they necessarily would be invading Lumoise, I think that the ultra beast already live there.

I’ve heard it said that Eternatus could very likely be an Ultra Beast. The way it threatens to destroy Galar upon its revival, it wouldn’t surprise me if perhaps it was the strongest Ultra Beast and Lumiose is invaded by its command. It could also end up being a Giratina and Arceus situation, where Eternatus fills the role of Giratina to Necrozma’s Arceus.
I can’t wait until we get more concrete info about this game.

Man, the more you talk about these Ultra Beasts potential, the more hyped I get (and worried how disappointed I’ll be if it doesn’t happen 😅)
Instead of absorption, UB Assimilation- It would keep the same meaning but with a word with a much more sinister connotation.... not gonna lie this idea is sounding more and more feasible
I really like the idea of bringing ultra beasts into the picture. At the very least, they are related to different timelines/time travel. I just always thought the ultimate weapon looked suspiciously like Celestella. I can't wait for another trailer or sneak peek they bring.
If they do include Ultra Beasts in the story of this, it would be so perfect to add Ultra Necrozma as the secret postgame final boss like the Volo/Giratina fight. The Ultra Necrozma battle was so epic with the cutscenes and the music its just begging to pop up again like Galacta Knight in the Kirby games.
You know what, this theory actually makes sense the A being a ultra beast, I say this because the shot of Lumoise from above reminds me of when in the country side there’s a sighting of aliens and in a big field it has odd patterns and shapes I don’t have an exact example but it’s used a lot in alien movies with weird patterns in the middle of a random country side.
What i find interesting is that, if you think about it. Ultra Necrozma as a lot of things in common with Arceus, color schem, being arguably the god of their respective dimensions and a lot of other things. Now, we all know the arch nemesis of Arceus is Giratina (even if Giratina wants to protect the universe After the volo arc) they are still their respective nemesis. Now taking in perspective all the common things that Arceus as in common with U Necrozma. We could sée this hypothetic UB as not only the most destructive of them all but also, the arch nemesis of necrozma. A Pokemon that, like Giratina spread antimatter over matter, would spread his Darkness over necrozma's light. Now, i know this dosen't have a link to zygarde yet, but it could be the origin of this UB. Fleeing from the Ultra dimension because of necrozma and coming conquering another universe.

I like to think that someone at Pokemon/Creatures is watching TTAR’s videos sweating, trying to come up with ideas he doesn’t say so they have a surprise twist in the game

Ultra Necrozma is literally the UB king, and you snubbed him.
Then you took the theme of Necrozma and Kyurem absorbing the box legends.
So you could have literally had Necrozma vs Zygarde and Ultra Necrozma vs complete Zygarde.
I did have a similar idea for an Ultra Beast King. I got inspiration from Marvel's Symbiote King, Knull. A being that did not want to exist, it just wanted Nothing to Be. Since it was a bug in the universe not wanting to be, the first form was Dark/Bug. Known as Lepidark, it was a giant larva with spider-like legs/Elder God Azathoth/meteor hybrid with space dust(Nebulas0 all over it. It found the creator god pokemon(different one in my story than Arceus) and then fell into a Black Hole, where it entered Ultra Space and gestated for eons and unwitting created the Ultra Beasts and Eternatus. Those elements are in its next form, Ultra Beat King: Lepidark Null (Unleashed form) were it is a cross between the invasive Gypsy Moth/More spider legs with Eternatus Hands at the end of those/Battra, opposite of Kaiju Mothra. The final form is called UBK: Lepidark Null (Monarch Form) where it is all that but the wings are closed and cover it like they do for Valantino from Hazbin Hotel and has a Black Hole crown on it head. The final forms are Dark/Poison. I just could not connect it to the "A" concept.
As an added note, pokemon like the Inkay line are its spies and have a final form that mimic its boss but i based that on the Elder God: The King in Yellow.

Technically it would both Solgaleo and Lunala. Necrozma just feeds on light which they happen to be. Not sure if it has any connection to UBs at all. Which saying this now, I guess it does get the same ultra boost to its stats.. idk

Ultra Beast and Paradox Pokemons for me is still the coolest idea pokemon introduced.
zygarde is supposed to have cells all over the world watching everything but you as the hero stop the evil team & prevent the disasters from happening so it was never forced to step in but was on standby like when it was in alola.

I dunno, I never thought of the ultra beasts as being in any way unified--like they're all from completely separate dimensions right? Still a cool concept, though. I like the idea of Zygarde fighting an invasive threat like Eternatus or UB-A

To me, the Master of all Ultra Beasts would be codenamed: UB-White. Why ? Because, unlike Necrozma, it takes on immense power from all things living and non-living across the time-space continuum. Its actual name could be Archaster or Imperastar and it could be the first ever Legendary Fairy/Ground or Dragon/Fairy superboss.
In my perspective, Astranax [or Archaster] was the "nuclear bomb" that AZ had used to wipe out all traces of life 3,000 years ago. It seems to me that the person who's hunting AZ is actually the main villain and is seeking to establish dominance with an army of Ultra Beasts. Thus, the plan is to conquer Lumiose City first and then attack the entire Pokemon nation before we stop them for good.
Ultra Beasts are invasive species and Necrozma isn't that far different from them.
That best lines up with the observation that France [the country Kalos region is modeled from] is the main operator of the European Space Agency.

Have you noticed how many ultra beasts oppose Zygards theme of nature? I mean like xurkitree, celesteela, and the paper-thing represent: Electricity, Steel, and Paper so mybe their King is the manisfestation of technological progress, at the cost of nature? It should be sth. Like a mad electric/ steel type or a poison/ steel type or to be symbolic a dark/ dragon to represent humanities hybris.
Forgive me for saying this but what makes you think Pokémon Z-A is not taking place less then 50 or even thirty years ago, or even if it's just Lumiose City we'd just be exploring, One Prism Tower is there in the blueprints, and Clemont the Gym leader of Lumiose city built and designed Prism Tower, around the time Ash Katchem lived, two looking at the blueprints, there's not a lot of area to explore as the individual buildings are visible and streets as well, and on the note of this is a Legends game, it could be different from Legends Arceus in that this is a Legend Born in the modern times, something that will be talked about for years and centuries in the future, again on the topic of we're just exploring Lumiose city, even if it is the map with borders in the city, bare minimum they would probably do something like Legends Arceus and Jubilife Village and the different Areas to explore, the trailer said that we'd be exploring Lumiose city and I don't think Lumiose city goes back 100 years as a city, in Legends arceus Jubilife City was Jubilife Village, and probably much smaller in scale than the modern city.
