    43:00 I wish someone should have asked Murthy a question on Siddhartha Hegde of Cafe Coffee Day fame and his plight, who succumbed under tax regime raid and other financial pressure. That is the situation facing by our entrepreneur class.

    When I was in Infosys (good 13 years) it was famous that Mr. Murthy paid his personal phone bills(some ₹300 per month ) & I use to think why bother… the share holders of the company will be more than happy to approve of that small money and that his time is more valuable than him having to account for this… BUT it was clear this is about setting the right example … we all made personal call from company phones(that was before the mobile phones existed ) and paid our phone bills (deducted from salary at the end of the month…it could be as small as ₹36)

    Meticulous speech on various aspects of leadership and entrepreneurship. He added and echoing the recent management statements where it’s has been emphasised on appropriate evaluation on market sizing, detailing of risk registration and action plans, leader led by examples, innovation needed at every level, talent retention, competency requirements etc. I am slightly not agreeing to his views on empathetic leadership where he mentioned only transparency and accountability are key features of it, however in my view empathy is part of motivation, taking team in to mission and vision of the company, helping and supporting team in difficult situations..
    Overall he represented the mix of Charismatic and situational leadership .

    If I ever get chance to work under Mr. Narayan Murthy, it will be a culmination of a engagement and work satisfaction. Almost 20 years back in an interview he briefly elaborated the role of leader, he said "Bring more intelligent people than leader and manage them". His words and actions make the Infosys a world class company in his life time. Just 35 years. This is really a miracle.

    11:30 Only an entrepreneur can see through that old man's plight, what Murthy was describing. Normally that does not happen..!! I work in IT industry and attitude of the manager is don't question us and don't question what we do. Once so happened in my career, in one organisation I was working they stacked 80% of hardware resources for one single vendor and 20% from others. I asked the manager why are we stacking 80% Hardware from one vendor...? I was just curious wanting to know what was the reason behind it. Not that I was question the manager's integrity. But the manager took offence and was let go a few months later from the organization. Morale of the story I have survived and working today but that organization did not survive... they were folded even before pandemic hit.

    25 thousand rupees salary to fresh engineer in Bangalore. What is Narayan Murthys opinion about it ? Reality is none of the top college engineers call Infosys for their campus interviews and attrition rate is more than 30 % even with ridiculous notice period of 3 months. People join infosys with the hope of getting H1B visa and then quit within a month after landing in USA. They join end clients as full time employees removing middleman Infosys who eat almost 70 % commission dollars in between.

  • @anilprasanna
    @anilprasanna Год назад

    Indians have always worked hard but can you reduce your commission in between ?? Clients pay a lot of dollars for our work. But you eat everything in between and give us peanuts.
