John Oates - Maneater

John explained that though the term "maneater" described a passing love interest, in the song the real maneater is New York City. It was the early 80's in a place that can chew you up. From John Oates's 2022 tour with Guthrie Trapp, filmed at the Colonial Theater, PA. The venue is 15 miles from where Oates attended high school, the audience was filled with his family and old time friends. I was sitting next to someone who graduated with him! John and Guthrie were practice partners at John's house, the idea came up of performing but maintaining the comfortable the living room setting.
