      You could definitely say the Nissan using his blinker would have meant Karan delayed his lane change. But ultimately Karan should be using his mirrors and watching the lane he's changing into to see that the Nissan is already there before/during his lane change. Whether the Nissan used their blinker originally when getting into that lane is kind of irrelevant at the point where the Nissan is already fully established in that lane.

    #1 @ Jalon: Yellow light means to stop if you have time (you certainly did) and unless it is not safe to do so (e.g. slippery roads, someone tailgating). A yellow light doesn't mean to continue on because you think that "you'll make it". That was the root cause of this accident. Jalon sees a yellow light, could easily stop. Nope, let's floor it. He was in the middle of the intersection when the light turned red. Maybe the US is different, but in Europe, a yellow/orange means stop unless you're unable to, not floor it.
    Tina thinks regen braking helped her slow down, pretty sure the brakes did that.
    Devon took the turn like he's driving a Semi, going into a tight road, but he's driving a small Tesla going into a road that would fit 4 lanes in Europe, and then says it's not his fault.
    Karan thinks that turning the blinker on means he's in the right... Yeah it was avoidable and the guy changed lanes faster and accelerated, but that's your problem not his.

The problem is all these toolbags that want 'smoke tunes'. How about tuning the truck to run clean, powerful and efficiently? Funny thing is I've heard of people who really know how to tune a diesel tuning their trucks with ZERO emissions equipment and running them through the 'sniffer', and their emissions deleted tuned trucks had cleaner exhaust gasses than similar factory tuned emissions intact trucks. But these morons that want 'smoke switches'... Give me a break. I'd much rather take that fuel that's being burned to 'roll coal', and with enough air, use it to make more clean power. In a diesel, smoke is really just wasted power. In this case, the Nissan was already in the passing lane, and the Tesla Driver made an unsafe lane change, forcing the Nissan off the road.

      In those cases, the insurance company might hold both party responsible doing a 50/50 split.
      Jalon entered the intersection while it was still yellow and turned red when he was midway through the intersection, so he would not have been cited for running a red.

    • @oscarholman

      @@xpeed718 I agree 50/50 split because the driver turning left should have waited until it was safe to turn. But the Jalen guy did not have the right of way. Right of way conveys "not at fault", and he was 50% responsible.

      @xpeed718 2 года назад

      @@oscarholman You should double check the DMV handbook where it states "When you turn left, give the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching that are close enough to be dangerous." Since the other car turned left while the light was still yellow, Jalon had the right-of-way as he approached the intersection. Which is why the other driver was found 100% at fault by the police and insurance. If Jalon drove through while the light was red, he would be 100% at fault for running the red.
      In a nutshell, drivers who make left turns usually gets most of the blame unless they can prove otherwise, such as dashcam footage.

    • @roadmonitoroz
      @roadmonitoroz 2 года назад

      Exactly. You want to know fast.. I lived near a muckdonalds once (biggest mistake ever) . People would rat run through the muckdonalds parking lot not realizing that there was a left turn just before the traffic light. There was a noise maker speed bump (metal) and cars would blow through there anywhere from 20 KPH (12 MPH) to 60 KPH (37 MPH) in the posted 5 (3.1 MPH) - 10 KPH (6.2 MPH) posted zone (can't remember if it was 5 or 10). Some would get airborne over the bump. This is in a shared pedestrian zone which certainly has quite a few pedestrians walking through it at all hours (can hear them talking loudly, yelling, cussing 24 hours a day). 4000 + vehicles / day = 8000+ loud bang noises / day and maybe 20% were actually going to muckdonalds. The speed bump noise could be heard four buildings away down the road and of course across the road as well. Apart from that walking along the footpath was risky as cars would come blowing out of the parking lot through the stop sign that had a high wall there blocking pedestrians / drivers view. As a pedestrian you had to make sure you stopped, poked your head past the wall to see if any speeding cars were coming before continuing your walk.
      The police say that the stop sign is not gazetted (i.e. Not an official government listed one) so they can't ticket for blowing through it. I guess this could apply for the speed limit as well as its a driveway / pedestrian area and not an official road.

      Most people completely ignore stop signs/lines in parking lots for that very reason, and get offended as fuck if you try to move from a stop while they're blowing through theirs.

I saw someone saying the other driver was at fault as they did not indicate. As at the time of the accident the other car in question was already in the other lane this would be a separate violation and as mentioned above, even if they did indicate the results would have been the same. Devin was 100% at fault! Look at the side of the road the car hit each other on! If that was a two lane road you should be looking at grass on the drivers side front tire

    The second submission with Jason: the gray Chevy is a Chrysler 300. Unfortunately GM isn’t associated with Chrysler. Not to be one of those people, but I felt like I should point that out. Please don’t hate me!

    My vote on the diesel smoke - looked like it was just spooling up to pass *this time*. Still not great.

      Yeah, looked like regular acceleration to pass, probably with some emissions deletes.

      Semed partly deliberate to me. There seems to be a lot of spite on the roads with that and the lane blocker as examples.

    Karan did indicate he was changing lanes so I do believe he isn’t at fault, plus the Nissan driver did pull onto the road recklessly. Hope you found this helpful!

    Deven was so OBVIOUSLY in the wrong it ridiculous. Jesus, did he really think he'd get people on his side? If he took that turn any wider, he'd have been hit that sign...

    The very first case - the light was red as the Tesla entered the intersection. You can see the traffic light very briefly before the collision with the oncoming car turning left. #2 - is a Chrysler, not a Chevy in the left lane.

    #4 Deven, it was a wide turn for sure. You can see there’s enough space on the right side of the road when he backs up the car after crashing in the Honda’s lane

    Jalon is not at fault because red means stop, green means go, and yellow you can stop but it's no5 necessary.

    Jalon isnt at fault, If you replay the clip he made it on the yellow light. The other car should have waited. I can tell that guy didnt "Think" He just wanted to go fast. There are alot of these people in california do this.

    Karan shouldn't be at fault since the other car hit and ran, the other driver should automatically be at fault for doing a hit and run.

    Sorry Karan, from the video it was obvious the other driver was in full occupancy of the #1 lane, and sadly in your blind spot which is why you didn't see him. The arbitrator was correct in his decision. Never assume that a car you've passed is still where it was.

    On micheals video, I own a 2003 cummins that rolls coal. However you can control the smoke. Now im not saying that was intentional by any means because even a simple tune on a diesel truck it will roll. Now from my experience it happens when you give it alot of throttle because all that smoke is just unburnt fuel shooting out so from my perspective of a diesel owner that happens to tuned trucks when passing a vehicle if you give it enough throttle
