What news sources do you suggest? I get most of my information from Arab news because it is not biased and they don’t censor anything and from TikTok because it’s coming from real life people who are on the ground in these situations.
What makes you think Arab news sources are unbiased? Everyone has an agenda, including Arab journalists. I recommend opening yourself up to multiple sources. By allowing yourself to only get information from one source, there is no way to get the full story in any situation.

@BakeMyDayMimo I'm very late to the party, but in general, what these people mean by "no one is unbiased" is that the act of perseption always comes with preconception without exception. The world is an optical illusion and some of us are looking at rabbits, some are looking at ducks, and some see a flying saucer. BUT by examining multiple sources on issues you care about, you can combine those biases into a more full picture of how different sides feel and what evidence they've produced and create a more clear picture of probable truth from there. Historians do the same thing, examining many first, second, and third person sources and attempting to accurately decipher what happened from there. Of course, this can't be done for every single issue in the world. So, for a lot of issues, what people will do is visit like two opposing news sources, one they trust and one they aren't fond of but that others trust, and just take what each says with a grain of salt. Unfortunately, there's no way to know for sure what's really happening anywhere at any time unless you are currently there and actively involved. We're simply not equipped to handle knowledge of all world news at all times. There's no such thing as a good source to recommend. Just do your best and that's good enough.
@@KatiePunk As an historian (in formation still 😅) I can second that. I'd also suggest to try and mix "elite's" sources and "people's" sources. Also try multiplying countries of origin and languages for your sources. Each country, culture and language bring forth a different reading of situation you may or may not agree on, but that can be some crucial insight to get the "closest to reality" narrative. And never forget : biases are normal and truth is rarely ever reacheable in a human context for we filter everything through our senses, that doesnt mean the person unknowingly transmitting you the tilted or wrong info means you harm, and that does not mean you'll never get to the truth (or as close as humanly possible). 10,000+ k!lled, More than 7,100,000 million people displaced. Sudan has the highest number of internally displaced people in the WORLD. 40/59 hospitals have been bombed. The airport has been burned down, 10,400 schools shut down. 19,000,000 children are out of school. 17,400,000 people lack access to clean water. Cars are getting stolen, houses are getting looted, and so much more is happening to our families. Imagine all of this started during ramadan this april its so upsetting. Thank you for speaking about this
I’m from Sudan, me and my family moved to the USA in early 2000. I was lucky enough to have a few trips back to see family and the country. Now most of my family has moved elsewhere, we have almost no one left in the capital Khartoum. The country really is beautiful but is being destroyed by the war. Thank you for the representation. ❤🇸🇩

Im from sudan and im so stressed for my grandma and my family that they are going to be harmed, they cant come back because the airport is absolutely destroyed. Thank you for raising awareness
Thank you for always making it about the people caught in the crossfire. News outlets always focus on the people causing harm not those being affected by it. I will always support you and your kind and honest view of the world ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for shedding light on the situation that’s happening in my country. My heart breaks every time I ask my family about the situation. I often rewatch videos I took when I was in Sudan and it just shatters me. May Allah bring justice to all the countries that are facing injustices. الحمدالله علي كل حال
As an Egyptian English teacher, me and my colleagues noticed the increase in the number of Sudanese students in our classes. A lot of them migrated to Egypt. It's really sad seeing the amount of people who have been displaced. I had a student who was absent from my class and when I asked her friends about it they told me that they couldn't contact her brother and he went missing. Alhamdulilah she came back next lesson and she told me her brother was OK. But it was a wake up call to the continuous fear that they go through on a daily basis. Seeing all this happen around us, really makes you feel grateful for your good fortune in life but at the same time you can't help but feel guilty about the misfortune of others. But we need to keep reminding ourselves. It's all in God's plan.
I studied in Sudan and it absolutely breaks my heart that a lot of my friends are either homeless, refugees or have lost a loved one. It’s so difficult to see every memory shattered 🥹

Thank you so so much, Mimo. My sister literally ran to me yelling, "Mimo made a cake about the war", and I didn't believe her but now I'm watching this video and trying hard not to cry. We fled our home a few days after the war started on April 15th, and we survived, though we had to leave our lives behind. I've been trying my best to spread awareness, but the world has no idea about the suffering in our home country, and it hurts my heart. Seeing an influencer like you spreading awareness makes me have a little bit more faith in this world. Thank you so much for this, Mimo

Iam from Sudan I lost many family members in this war. What you say is correct it is exactly like what is happening in Gaza, thousands are dead and millions are misplaced.by now we don’t even care about an outside intervention because all of them will just come and get what they want from our country resources. All of the schools in the capital are shut and most of the hospitals too. I only pray to Allah to save my country from its own evil people
I love the cake and prayers go to all people suffering/ dealing with the war. I have friends in the Middle East who keep me updated on everything by them.
After you said the first sentences, I immediately thought ,,this is just like the roman civilian wars that are described in my latin book“. I think its really sad how the humanity has learned so much the past 2000 years and some people still do the things they do, as if they wouldn’t know what happens to the ,,normal“ people in their countrys. Hopfully these wars all end soon and maybe the people there also get a ,,golden time of Peace“ afterwards, who knows?
Hi mimo, that may be true, but everyone has an agenda, and an individual posting a tik tok has no accountability towards anyone or anything, other than to further their agenda. How do you know the person posting the TikTok is being truthful?
@@eliesonnenblick1358 Understandable point, and I would say we need to be careful about all news/media we consume. I'm not really educated on this topic, so I won't speak on the facts. But, I do think I have pretty good media literacy and I am knowledgeable about biases when it comes to news outlets and individuals. *Everyone technically has their own agenda they're trying to push when talking about anything like this, including news outlets.* But, on top of having their own personal agenda, which everyone has, *news outlets are beholden to corporations, oligarchs (the wealthy elite), or whoever owns them.* So, on TikTok, of course you can post misinformation for your own agenda and for attention - *but* news media has *both* of those incentives, *and* they also have to take into account whoever owns their news outlet, or else their story/article won't be released or they might be fired.
So sad. I was working in my dad's shop when southern Sudanese men came in to purchase supplies for a parade to celebrate their independence from northern sudan ( They were so happy and had survived so much. It's so sad that they're going through that again.
I'm not sure if this goes beyond what your intentions are for this series but after highlighting current wars/conflicts you could do previous ones as well. Only reason I learned about some previous wars/conflicts was doing research on current ones. For me it's put into perspective that these events aren't new and countries/governments I may think of as "good" have done some awful stuff in the past. I love this series and think it's a great way to spread awareness.
Mimo I can't thank you enough for using you platform to spread awareness like that, I'm sudanese and I had to flee my country with only a bag of essentials and I still have family members in harm's way. It breaks my heart nobody ever talks about, or even knows about what happens there and all the issues caused by war. What sucks is that when we flee people use our situation against us and cut us a bad deal either in renting or salary because they damn well know we have no other options.
My pregnant great grandma fled to Sudan when she left her husband with her 2 children. Only to have to flee again because soldiers ransacked the place she was renting from a poor family. She escaped with her life and children but all her possessions were left behind. She gave birth to my grandma on a train going through Rhodesia and landed up in South Africa. We were very fortunate to grow up here. It could have been way worse
This is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing information about ALL the issues going on in the world! I didn't know so much of this was happening, thank you for bringing everything to light and informing people who aren't seeing the news!
Thank you so much for doing this series and for talking about all these issues. I hope you're doing okay and finding time for yourself too. Remember that it's not up to you to hold up all the world's injustice on your shoulders. I really respect how you're doing this despite maybe losing followers and getting hate comments. I believe it's a great jihad you're doing and if even one person gains awareness because of your videos, you're DOING SOMETHING for the world. In fact, you've brought awareness to me about Sudan! Thank you Mimo, much love ❤❤❤
Please do Somalia. Somalia is struggling terribly with unsafety, corruption, poverty, diseases, lack of clean water, previous civil war effects and recently a mall set on fire. All your doll cakes so far are good ❤

You should read a long walk to water. It comes from two prospectives. One from when the war just started, and one from a more modern day picture. It's an easy read.
Recommendation; read some articles and watch videos and write things you find important from each source, then you can see what is the most consistent details and when there's an outlier you want to include you say 'according to [source], [something something].' You're so brave for speaking so openly about everything happening! Stay safe and keep fighting for the innocent. -Kals
when i was in 8th grade, our teachers made us read a book called “a long walk to water” (or something like that😭) about two different people who are facing the backlash of the war. one is a fictional character named nina (i think correct me if i’m wrong), who goes to get water for her family, which is a long way away. the other is a boy (don’t remember the name) who was a real person trying to go to a refugee camp and all the struggles that he faced before being able to not only go to america, but also reunite with his father, who he thought died (prob not a good summary but this was all back in 2021)
I came across your page recently and have been watching all your videos. I admire that you use your platform to bring awareness. So many people are afraid to speak about these genocides going on in the world. I am not typically someone who watches cake videos but I love yours and am a new subscriber!
Thanks for trying to bring attention to injustices around the world. We tend to be so isolated from our brothers and sisters, that how would we know unless someone brings these issues to our attention. There's not much I can do as a student, but I hope a view here, a couple dollars there, will help boost the algorithm for you. ❤️ Also, I would love if you did a Part II for all of these cakes, where one discusses an issue in that country while the other discusses the cultural significance of the outfit. 😍 I wonder if you could do a male doll with traditional clothes somewhere, too? 🤔
Thank you so much love, I’m so sorry I didn’t see this until now. I really appreciate it. Also, thank you so much for the suggestion. What I’ve been doing is taking apart the cake and probably discussing what’s going on in that region if there is something going on.
Thanks!

I'm a westerner and most of my sources are in French *and* western centric, so I don't rly have any good recommendations of the top of my head, but check with non-lucrative associations like médecins sans frontière (idk if its known outside of canada, but they aim to provide humanitary help in the world and their campains have allowed me to keep up with way more than I would have otherwise) or unicef or red cross or red crescent (? I think that's the english name for the muslim equivalent???) Which are especially more active in the middle east
You are truly doing the Lord's work. So many people are suffering and you are using the tools God gave you to spread awareness and humanity. You are a blessing, don't ever believe anything different.

Thanks Mimo❤❤❤
Im from Sudan ans I really really appreciate this
Please keep Sudan in your prayers
Things keep getting worse الحمد لله على كل حال🙏🙏🙏
I’m so glad you talked about this because recently we also learned this in school which was really sad and devastating. It’s still a serious topic and it should be discussed so thanks Mimo for putting attention to this.
Thank you for speaking about this
Girl...your right as a Sudanese person who saw all of that conflict you explained it right in the way that made me cry❤
If been following the issues around the world for awhile now but it’s hard to find coverage on it other than social media. My heart is with you Sudan!
thank you for continuing to spread awareness of these things. makes me proud to be following you ❤
Alhamdullah , finally some one speaks about our suffering for almost 8 months now, thank you, may Allah bless you 🤍🤍🇸🇩
As an adult doll collector, I'm loving this combo of activism posts, dolls and cake art❤
This is truly Gods work you're doing.
As a sudani i find it so nice when people talk about it or support it because know even knows whats happening there
I just found this World Doll Cake series!! Beautiful artistry!! Boost for the algorithm💛💛💛
Can you also do about Yemen there is also war there love you thx for raising awareness for other countries
I'm sure she will ❤
I’m from Sudan, me and my family moved to the USA in early 2000. I was lucky enough to have a few trips back to see family and the country. Now most of my family has moved elsewhere, we have almost no one left in the capital Khartoum. The country really is beautiful but is being destroyed by the war.
Thank you for the representation.

Oh, Mimo. 💗
You are so deeply, beautifully, profoundly good.
Thank you for your good work.
I'm amazed by you.
God Bless the Innocents of Sudan & Palestine. 💗
God Bless you, Mimo, & your good family & beloveds, & your good work.💗
I'm so proud of you!!!
Thank you for raising awareness!! Justice for Sudan!!
Thank you so much literally no one cares about Sudan anymore except it’s own Sudanese survivors my uncle has a shop there and I used to love it until it got destroyed 😢❤
This is a great series! I feel positively enriched by both the sight of your beautiful cakes and these bits of information on the countries. It’s so well done 🙏
Loving this New World Dress Doll Cake Series by you! You are absolutely right about what is happening in Sudan now, It’s very wrong and shameful, Your Cake is gorgeous and looks super delicious as always, Thank you so much for supporting Sudan and Palestine, Free Palestine Mimo. 🇵🇸
❤️❤️
@@BakeMyDayMimo Thank you so much Mimo. ❤️
@@hana67432 can I ask you a small question
So do you support the Palestine’s or the innocent people on both sides since babies little kids on both sides are innocent in all this anyways good day bye.
So many horrible things are happening in the world and we're not even aware because of how social media is managed.. Thank you for spreading awareness.
INSHALLAH, Allah will grant Palestine with the greatest success in History!! 🇵🇸❤💖 and will help Sudan!
I lovvee your videos ... and how you donate the funds towards the suffering nations... JazakAllah ❤
whenever I write or comment about Palestine or anything happening in GAZA... SOME IGNORANT people just come up on me telling me about "HISTORY" .. but we all know that *"IT'S NOT THE EYES THAT ARE BLIND,IT'S THE HEARTS"* .... May Allah (swt) guide us all to the truth ..AMEEN!
As a Sudanese It feels so good seeing this because we feel so overlooked during this whole war so thank u mimo❤❤❤
Amazing work bringing all these issues to light Mimo ❤️ could you make a cake bringing awareness to what’s happening in the DRC next? 🇨🇩🩵🤍
Love what you do to bring awareness to issues, and the beautiful cakes you make. Keep it up! ❤❤ you have a soothing voice and I love listening to you
Keep it up mimo! I’m sorry I can’t donate a lot but your courage to continue to post about the issues going on! Your courage and bravery are truly inspiring! Even if people leave because they have certain views I’ll stick by you!!
Thank you so much love, I’m so sorry I didn’t see this until now. I really appreciate it.
This is beautiful! I love that you're addressing these issues in the world, someone NEEDS too talk about them
I learned about this for history last year.
I really want to donate but i have no money or bank acoount 😢
Inshallah by the time i do have the ability to donate in my own, the conflicts are over.
Thank you for mentioning this Mimo, we love you!
History repeatedly repeats itself 😭😭
I'm honestly just curious, how is tiktok more reliable than the rest of the Internet? It's all pretty unreliable
You get real footage from people on the ground instead of news articles from journalist who might be working for western media.
*Everyone technically has their own agenda they're trying to push when talking about anything like this, including news outlets.*
But, on top of having their own personal agenda, which everyone has, *news outlets are beholden to corporations, oligarchs (the wealthy elite), or whoever owns them.*
So, on TikTok, of course you can post misinformation for your own agenda and for attention - *but* news media has *both* of those incentives, *and* they also have to take into account whoever owns their news outlet, or else their story/article won't be released or they might be fired.
So sad. I was working in my dad's shop when southern Sudanese men came in to purchase supplies for a parade to celebrate their independence from northern sudan ( They were so happy and had survived so much. It's so sad that they're going through that again.
That's gorgeous! I see why this would be worn for special occasions: the red and gold together is stunning!
If I have time. ❤
Okay but I still can’t believe that TIKTOK is a reliable news outlet-
Last year I read a book called long walk to water based in southern Sudan and some of the topics we’re truly tear jerking
I love the pattern on the bottom! So pretty! Thanks for educating me as well!
This cake is so beautiful!
So glad to see you speak out on issues like these.
Mashallah it’s beautiful
May Allah guide you straight to Jannah because of all of these good deeds Mimo…
Ameen ♥️♥️
My pregnant great grandma fled to Sudan when she left her husband with her 2 children. Only to have to flee again because soldiers ransacked the place she was renting from a poor family. She escaped with her life and children but all her possessions were left behind. She gave birth to my grandma on a train going through Rhodesia and landed up in South Africa. We were very fortunate to grow up here. It could have been way worse
Thank you so much for creating cakes while raising awareness of genocide. 🧿🧿
This is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing information about ALL the issues going on in the world! I didn't know so much of this was happening, thank you for bringing everything to light and informing people who aren't seeing the news!
This has been going on for so long I’m glad people are becoming more aware of the state the worlds in
Thank you so much for doing this series and for talking about all these issues.
All your doll cakes so far are good ❤
Hey there is a book called “when stars are scattered” it’s a true story about Sudan war survivors it was so sad but I loved it you should read it!
Hey everyone, watch these videos that Mimo makes as many times as you can to help it go viral!!

It's interesting how the same is happening in Ethiopia but no one's speaking about
Hope Sudan becomes peaceful again! ❤️❤️❤️
Sudan war started 7 months ago but everyone was quiet until now people are slowly starting to raise awareness
Thank you for bringing awareness to what’s going on in our world. I don’t have a huge platform but I can understand how hard it must be with so many ignorant trolls. Anyways thank you again mimo and I hope you have a lovely weekend x
Ma'am.. you are an ANGEL, OK? YOU JUST ARE, THANK YOU
Yes! Ty for sharing the real news people need to hear, love from an Armenian who understands what Sudan as well as Palestine is going thru, It’s is very sad for what is happening and very heartbreaking as well :( Lots of love to both of these areas 🇸🇩 ❤🇵🇸 stay strong 🥹🫶
You should read a long walk to water. It comes from two prospectives. One from when the war just started, and one from a more modern day picture. It's an easy read.
Thank you so so much for using ur platform correctly and educating us!!
Its so important that youre speaking about this on your platform, i honestly had no idea x
Thx alot as a Sudanese i really appreciate this
Thank you for talking about this, I hadn't heard about it anywhere else.
Your freehand painting is gorgeous.
She is so beautiful!
Recommendation; read some articles and watch videos and write things you find important from each source, then you can see what is the most consistent details and when there's an outlier you want to include you say 'according to [source], [something something].'
You're so brave for speaking so openly about everything happening! Stay safe and keep fighting for the innocent.
-Kals
There is a really great book called long walk to water that tells a story of one of the kids that went through the war. I recommend
You're very talented. Thanks for standing up for those who don't have a voice, Mimo.
Absolutely beautiful 😍😢
when i was in 8th grade, our teachers made us read a book called “a long walk to water” (or something like that😭) about two different people who are facing the backlash of the war. one is a fictional character named nina (i think correct me if i’m wrong), who goes to get water for her family, which is a long way away. the other is a boy (don’t remember the name) who was a real person trying to go to a refugee camp and all the struggles that he faced before being able to not only go to america, but also reunite with his father, who he thought died (prob not a good summary but this was all back in 2021)
Why do we have wars? Can we stop hurting people over our own greediness and thirst for power?!
Beautiful cake and such devastating news about another country, it is tragic how much conflict is around the world.
I came across your page recently and have been watching all your videos. I admire that you use your platform to bring awareness. So many people are afraid to speak about these genocides going on in the world.
I am not typically someone who watches cake videos but I love yours and am a new subscriber!
So beautiful. Thank you for using your platform for good, as always.
Your hands do magic absolutely beautiful and so creative ❤👍💯
Thanks for trying to bring attention to injustices around the world. We tend to be so isolated from our brothers and sisters, that how would we know unless someone brings these issues to our attention. There's not much I can do as a student, but I hope a view here, a couple dollars there, will help boost the algorithm for you. ❤️
Also, I would love if you did a Part II for all of these cakes, where one discusses an issue in that country while the other discusses the cultural significance of the outfit.
