maybe it was some Ark of the Covenant type or the untempered schism from Dr Who. they died from seeing it but because his mutant eye he was able to perceive it without dying and ascended out of his dimension. which is why hed blame the arson for the fire, not the arsonist(himself)

Can i just mention that another possibility is that the reason bill had a different perspective, is *because* his parents were the same colors of *3D glasses*, hence why his strange eye lead to him seeing beyond his flat world
The color codes and Bills ability to change Colors, makes me think that Bills species communicates similarly to cuttlefish- flicking different Colors for differnet sounds- yellow, red, and blue, being some of the default Colors they can be

Honestly, Bill was already an incredible villain without a tragic backstory, but the fact that they actually have him one, just makes him ten times more compelling

Bill is that type that denies everything and pretend to be happy in order to feel better. But the more he acts like he is fine in his insanity, the more he isnt. He cannot outrun the things he done and will feel forever guilt for all the lives he took away. Of an entire dimension, his dimension. His home. It does not matter how many people Bill set free, it will never feel the same. Our triangle will always leave with guilt and shame, In a Long-Lost-Wasted game.

In the End, Bill could only run away from his problems through insanity for so long… Eventually his sins caught up to him, and his death at the hands of the Pines family forced his long legacy of unhealthily coping by murdering, beguiling, and terrorizing other beings, to come to a violent end. Now, he has no choice but to come to terms with his choices and face the sin that set him down this mad-spree of Anarchy in the first place. The Crime of Destroying Euclydia… His Home. The Deaths of his parents and all of his people, will be the final hurdle Bill Cipher has to face, if he wants to pass the Axolotl’s Trial and be reincarnated. Unfortunately, for Bill… A Trillion years of unhealthy coping-mechanisms through stealing, killing, manipulating, and causing Anarchy is not something he can let go of easily it seems. Poor Cipher.

I was on the website and there was a third entry for "wellwellwellbeing" it's about bills phobias and one of them is 3D glasses it's most likely related to his parents like you and the video said the second is TV static I can see that to be realeated to his parents also
@MichaelTheMexicanAmerican 3D glasses work out of having 2 eyes as that gives us depth perception, Bill has just the one eye, but I think his mutation has somthing to do with his pupil, the 3D glasses I think are probably a reminder of what he wanted to do but couldn't, show his 2D world the 3rd dimension.
When they got to the part in the video about the possibility of Bill's family being royalty since Ecludid basically has the same name as the planet, I started thinking that the colors of his parents tied to that. Bill is yellow and his parents are assumed to be red and blue. Those 3 are taught as the primary colors, which could support Bill's family being the rulers of their dimension. They were the ruling family, the "primary" family
Also, in the book of bill, there's a largely censored passage from bill about him destroying his home world. Namely, he mentions he'll "Show them" which could either be an amount of hatred towards his universe or he meant to show them "up"
THe frightening part that breaches my list is that he's aware of the multiverse and supposedly can see all of it, but he never found one that had any of his parents? Doesn't that suggest his universe was either A. rare beyond belief or B. He destroyed his ENTIRE MULTIVERSE. That would mean Bill might have actually even had to kill OTHER BILLS. That'd expound the horror because it would mean what he did wasn't just a genocide, every little aspect of his reality is gone. All the way to the very CONCEPTS IN IT.

The thing about bills eye is that it’s in the middle of the shape. I would assume the eyes of the others were on their sides, so they could look around the second dimension, but bills eye would be facing up, so he could look up but would be basically blind in the 2nd dimension.
But that wouldnt make sense, Scalene and Euclid have the same placement and they didnt know about the third dimension, This proves this theory wrong purely because it would be bills family that lives too, they woukd believe in the third dimension. and that would lead to possibly stan mable and dipper killing one of them each. just another way the story could go following your theory.

When I was a kid watching this show and bill said he killed his whole dimension I wondered how he could live with that and still continue? Surely he would have some guilt? But now I know he does feel guilt and that’s pretty tragic
He passed it off as something that he was beneficial for them. Bill warped his own perception of the destruction of his home dimension by telling himself that they were better off this way than their previous way of living. If you look back to the final episode of Gravity Falls, Bill doesn’t use the word “destroy” when talking about the 2nd dimension, he in fact states that he quote on quote: “Liberated” them. So yeah, Bill is batsh*t crazy and is literally coping with the murder of his home dimension and all of his people and family by saying to himself that he helped them. Very sad, but also dreadful if you ask me. I can only imagine just how much more broken Bill’s mind is now that he’s barely keeping himself together in the Theraprism.

If Flatland novel still has any lore significance (the place of the same name from which Bill originated as stated in his Reddit QnA) then Euclydia was ruled by circles. Bill's eye was probably THE mutation that allowed him to see three-dimensional space
@@patax144 For context, in the Flatland book, the square writing his story/report of his world describes their eyes as being on the perimeter of their bodies at one of their points. It's a multipurpose organ, through which they also speak and eat (like Bill does with his eye). However, because of it's position and the nature of their world, everything around them is perceived as lines of varying color and length. They perceive depth by how clear or foggy parts of the lines they see are (so yes Blur) and it's considered polite to feel a corner or two of anyone you meet so that you know how many sides they have and therefore what your social standing with them is, which then guides the rest of the interaction. If Bill's mutation really was the PLACEMENT of his eye upon his face rather than an edge, then it would naturally give him the ability to see "UP" due to it's position. The square in Flatland also describes that speaking of the third dimension is illegally. He's actually writing the book from prison/an insane asylum. You probably knew this already but I was so excited for the Flatland lore. I came up with that theory years ago before I knew it was actually already a popular theory. So not as original as I thought but I felt so smart for a little while. Super hyperfixation on that silly little book.

Furthermore, Bill’s species couldn’t have been the only species that existed within the 2nd dimension, just like how Human-life isn’t the only type of life that exists within the 3rd dimension, there have been confirmed to be aliens within the Gravity Falls Universe, so what about the aliens in bill’s home dimension? Were they all just destroyed the moment Bill decided to go through with his unidentified science project to show his people the 3rd Dimension? Or do they still exist albeit on another flat planet on the 2nd dimension? To add on that, what do you think happened to Bill’s original physical body? We know from the graph Ford showed us, that Bill inhabited the Nightmare Realm and used the Mindscape as a sort-of inbetween realm to link the two worlds, but why did bill need to communicate through the Mindscape instead of going to Earth himself? What was stopping him from opening a portal there, or riding his getaway vehicle that he used to commit inter-dimensional crimes with his HenchManiacs in the Book of Bill? Well damn, I actually feel really sorry for Bill right now; poor fella, the amount of pain he's in must be mind shattering even for a being like himself. And I wonder why it's always the seemingly happiest people that holds the most sadness in them. Edit: By the way, I think the reason why Bill's fellow shapes seemed to've been weirded out by his eye is because when we see Bill's police height photos (the one where a criminal stands in front of a huge ruler telling people the criminal's height if they ever got out) and we saw him from the side, Bill's body is like 2/3rds of an inch thick whole his eye protruded outwards like mad. So maybe that's what creepy so many out, he was a 2D being with a 3D eye.
@SoloTheEpic I think they saw it, but it was weird and creepy to them because it was like that effect in some horror artworks I've seen where the artist puts dark realistic eyes over the drawing of their monster character usually drawn and colored flatly sometimes. @Riciliz yeah. Bill lost his dimension because of his own powers and went to the Nightmare Realm with his friends to party and forget that pain, hence the hedonism, but the Nightmare Realm was crumbling so he needed to find a new dimension and found Earth and then wanted it to be his playground to escape the fact that he destroyed his home.

I think that bill’s mutation makes total sense. Bill has his eye in front and in a 2d dimension, everyone else probably had their eye at their sides since they’d only be able to see 2d which would literally just be a line. Bill’s mutation might have seemed extremely weird to everyone else and since Bill’s eye was in front, he’d be the only one who’d be able to see everything else
Honestly the lullaby saying strange eye and not strange one eye just makes me think the eye is strange not because there's one but because it can see the 3rd dimension. The theory right now is that since his eye is in the middle of his body and since hes in the 2nd dimension he's always looking up which is the 3rd dimension. While everyone else has eyes on their corners or sides to look around in a 2d world. So a realistic picture of his parents would be one eye on the corners or two eyes on the sides. Theres no proof of his parents having 2 eyes but the only proof of one eye is just that bill has one eye.
Perhaps his people beat him up or bullied him because of his ability to see the 3rd dimension by punching him, (or even kicking and poking) his eye when he was a kid. It would make sense considering flatland (the inspiration behind Euclydia) bans any talk of the 3rd dimension.
Also, it's because if you're being attacked and you have the chance to go for the eyes or head, then you sometimes strike the eyes and the attacker lets go. Bill's eye is there for all to see and touch so if Bill is not careful, people he is attacking will hit his eye once the opportunity arises lol
9:45 NGL but when reading this I actually started to cry a little because it shows how much Bill loved his mom and thinking he’s still in school, in the past and in his band but in reality she’s gone and the rest of his family and his people from his dimension and learning the truth shattered him
What if Bill's weirdmaggedon shenanigans is just his way of diatracting himself from his guilt and grief of losing his parents and maybe trying to take over Ford's dimension is Bill's way of trying to recreate his world and possibly try yo resurrect his parents in some way in this new 3 dimensional world.
That has to be the biggest lore drop I've ever seen since Journal 3 came out. Gravity Falls never fails to lore drop the darkest things, in this case, Bill refusing to confront his feelings of the guilt of killing his people and parents which landed him a one-way ticket to the theraprism by the Axolotl.
At this point I’m convinced that Alex regret ending gravity falls so early, he had a lot of lore planned add to that the last couple of episodes feels rushed as heck. He just ended the show because he didn’t like working at Disney not because he wanted to end it.

Hmm. Since it's likely the Euclidian work differently, I think having one eye helped Bill see the third dimension more clearly. It's like some pirates covering their one eye so they can see the targets the shoot more clearly.

It can cause similar depressive symptoms associated with PTSD. Bill has all of these symptoms and more. He’s the reason why his people parish he has to live with that burden for the rest of his life.
I was thinking that perhaps this website is teasing a sequel to Cipher hunt, and perhaps the prize at the end of that hunt will be the announcement that the show is being brought back for a third season, similarly to Phineas and Ferb.

I just wanted to point something out. Bill's parents are blue and pink, the same colors we Associate with Dipper and Mabel. It just popped into my head and I wanted to know what others thought about it.
Bill’s projection (literally and figuratively) of him as a baby (image and description of cuteness and being loved by all) is most likely a lie to make himself feel better and/or trick us. his 2d dimension is heavily based on Flatland, which does not operate like seen in his baby picture, and class is based on how many sides one has (triangles being low with only 3, but equilateral being favored, and circles being priests/kings). how is he standing upright with 3d shoes? the point of a 2d world is to be flat on the x-y plane, bumping around and only seeing lines of the edges of other people, except for Bill who can see upwards (but maybe not necessarily stand up in the z direction). he most likely made a false image based on his knowledge of our dimension (that we’re suckers for emotional backstories and cute baby pictures) but still kept the all powerful ego as the truth or as a coverup. his “liberation” of his home world probably was physically forcing people’s bodies or the dimension itself into the 3rd dimension, therefore killing them. this whole thing is an emotional trick, to make us empathetic to his reasoning/actions, and we’re falling for it. you really trust Bill to tell the truth, especially about the hard reality of himself?
Color cipher confirms he wore velcro until he was 16 because he couldn't tie shoelaces. The only times he's ever been honest are through information hidden in layers of codes. Even in the book, he says he wrote them all.
I think Bill was actually loved at first UNTIL he began to tell them about the 3rd Dimension. His ego was definitely crushed when he found out they didn't like him after that, and because he was so used to being loved for who he is, he ended up burning his dimension by showing them 3D (?) Instead of taking responsibility, Bill decides they were stupid and decided to be the insane person he is now.
That doesn’t make any sense at all morally speaking. Cause if you ask me, if I have some sorta genetic mutation that allows me to see the 4th dimension, and I decide to tell my society about it, only for them to do a complete 180 on me and start treating me like sh*t Then of COURSE I’m gonna do whatever it takes to show them that the dimension exists!! Granted I think Bill’s way of showing them the 3rd dimension was a little impulsive, since in the pages it’s implied that Bill was going to try to show his people the 3rd dimension through some weird science fair project or something, and that the whole thing went haywire which is why at the end of the page, Bill says that he’s alone in the Universe and that he can’t undo what was done. But I definitely don’t think it has anything to do with taking “responsibility” for trying to prove to your ignorant society that you’re not crazy.
Hello, long time fan here. Love your work and I love how every now and again there will be a rather subtle, and rather deep cut touch to your videos. In this one you can't fool me I played Sonic Adventure 2 as well so I know the Pumpkin Hill theme when I hear it.
Bill is a name he gave himself as his true name will cause the person he is talking to experience psychological issues eventually making them kill themself
Damn, I bet Bill cries himself to sleep… ever since he was imprisoned in that Therapy place, especially when he remembers what he done to his Home… Not only that, he is forever haunted by his past… no matter what he does… to forget it, but no… it never end unless he stops running and faces it..
I'm beginning to think even if Bill did escape he's not going to be doing too well. The man is just falling apart now. The trauma over destroying is own dimension is popping up way more now in the book and on the website than it ever did in the actual series. Not to mention he also has the trauma of almost dying to Stan and having a breakdown when reminded of that moment. Bill is probably going to just as much of a danger to himself as others if he ever makes it out. Therapy is probably the best thing he needs right now, but he's too stubborn to use it to improve himself.
Lol Bill will never want anything to do with The Axolotl’s Therapy. He’s gonna stay the way he is until he either breaks out or until someone manages to sell the hard facts to him and show just why he ended up so deranged in the first place. Also, Bill’s mental state not being fully intact, may have to do with the fact that his spirit is basically in complete tatters. When we see him in the Theraprism we see a cracked line go from Bill’s eye all around his body, so whatever damage Stanley did to Bill during the Series Finale, seems to have left permanent implications on Bill’s Psyche and Astral Form(soul)
I doubt he would've been in a high-standing family purely because of the book 'romance of many dimensions', which Hirsh stated during a Q+A is about Bill's dimension, where triangles are the lowest class aside from the 'irregulars'

Im curious if this could be setting up a redemption arch for Bill, maybe that kinship he feels with Ford could be the breaking point that finally forces Bill to confront his past and change. He may learn there is more to life and though he can't bring his world back, maybe he can start over in a new one. He could become a background protector of Gravity Falls, watching over it, to prevent other dimensional creatures from finding their way to earth that might have been drawn to it during the portal tear at the start of Weirdmagedon

One other detail to point out that I learned from another youtuber on the topic of bills parents, Bills parents names represent two different mathematical terms in Geometry. The Euclidean Triangle is referred to in Geometry as "The sum of ALL the angles of a triangle is equal to a straight angle (180 degrees)" While a Scalene Triangle in Geometry refers to a Triangle whose Sides are always unequal, But whose internal Angles (inside the Triangle) will always ADD up to 180 Degrees. So Bill was a Child of not just beings who where Triangle Shapes, But a literal Child of Laws of mathematical geometry, to be honest, It explains bills capacity to solve Very Complex mathematical equations that even Standford Pines could not understand at first when it came to building the portal until bill taught him.
Bill is pretty chaotic and wants to destroy things in the sake of fun and chaotic joy. Belos wanted to wipe out an entire realm of witches and magical beings due to being a witch hunter and almost caused a genocide over an entire race after taking over as emperor. Their both bad but Belos’ intentions were downright sinister and cruel from the start, making him a smidge worse than bill despite not even having 0.001% of the power that Bill Cipher has.
Belos is worse in my opinion! At least Bill has friends; and kills because he doesn’t value other’s lives. But Belos killed out of hatred. And Bill destroying Euclidea was an accident, and he actually feels a bit of guilt over it-
5:31 It would probably make sense that Euclidians would all have one eye, seeing as that would mean that they would lack depth perception as a population, which would then feed into the whole "2 dimensional" thing. Maybe Bill's eye is just special because he doesn’t lack depth perception? We see him be pretty accurate when it comes to throwing things, and he doesn’t constantly bump into walls, so maybe that’s why he’s also able to see the 3rd dimension?
To be honest the fact he wasn't always some pure evil monster was teased already during Weirdmaggedon. Alex saying his relationship with his family is worst than Stanley's for example, and how in the show itself, rather than laughing and making jokes about what he did to his dimension like he does all the time about the OTHER horrible things he does, Bill wasn't laughing- he looked peeved when talking about his dimension. He even had bags under his eye. And finally the Axolotl's poem hinting strongly that he did infact feel remorse over what he did to his dimension. So this isn't really as if it came out of nowhere and only started with the Book of Bill, it has already been implied ever since Weirdmaggedon.

I kind of agree. I like that Alex is giving us more content to eat up and giving Bill more of a story, but I've always imagined Bill as just... evil and silly for the fun of it. It's kind of that Lord Dominator appeal. Evil for fun.
I would love to see a new series that expands on Bill's lore. Maybe not even a Gravity Falls series. Do what they did with FoP and move the series to a new paranormal location with new characters. Also I'm still urging the roundtable to PLEASE talk about the Monster High reboot. It's a good series and doesn't deserve to be canceled!

Here’s my theory, which is probably everyone else’s theory: Bill did horrible shit to cope with the tragedy of losing his Homeworld and parents. Think about it, Bill often claims a monster destroyed it, then he claims he liberated it. It’s cause Bill kept believing inside he was a bad person, and that he would just need to keep doing bad things to make himself feel better. But now that he’s stuck in the Theraprism, he’s basically stuck, and will have continuous breakdowns, all just because he doesn’t want to admit that underneath his sadistic and arrogant god facade, he’s a pathetic and broken person who uses terrible things as a way to distance himself from being seen as a victim.

The thing about bills eye is that it’s in the middle of the shape. I would assume the eyes of the others were on their sides, so they could look around the second dimension, but bills eye would be facing up, so he could look up but would be basically blind in the 2nd dimension.
But that wouldnt make sense, Scalene and Euclid have the same placement and they didnt know about the third dimension, This proves this theory wrong purely because it would be bills family that lives too, they woukd believe in the third dimension. and that would lead to possibly stan mable and dipper killing one of them each. just another way the story could go following your theory.

When I was a kid watching this show and bill said he killed his whole dimension I wondered how he could live with that and still continue? Surely he would have some guilt? But now I know he does feel guilt and that’s pretty tragic

If you look back to the final episode of Gravity Falls, Bill doesn’t use the word “destroy” when talking about the 2nd dimension, he in fact states that he quote on quote: “Liberated” them. So yeah, Bill is batsh*t crazy and is literally coping with the murder of his home dimension and all of his people and family by saying to himself that he helped them. Very sad, but also dreadful if you ask me. I can only imagine just how much more broken Bill’s mind is now that he’s barely keeping himself together in the Theraprism.

@@patax144 For context, in the Flatland book, the square writing his story/report of his world describes their eyes as being on the perimeter of their bodies at one of their points. It's a multipurpose organ, through which they also speak and eat (like Bill does with his eye). However, because of it's position and the nature of their world, everything around them is perceived as lines of varying color and length. They perceive depth by how clear or foggy parts of the lines they see are (so yes Blur) and it's considered polite to feel a corner or two of anyone you meet so that you know how many sides they have and therefore what your social standing with them is, which then guides the rest of the interaction. If Bill's mutation really was the PLACEMENT of his eye upon his face rather than an edge, then it would naturally give him the ability to see "UP" due to it's position. The square in Flatland also describes that speaking of the third dimension is illegally. He's actually writing the book from prison/an insane asylum. You probably knew this already but I was so excited for the Flatland lore. I came up with that theory years ago before I knew it was actually already a popular theory. So not as original as I thought but I felt so smart for a little while. Super hyperfixation on that silly little book.

For instance, it’s stated that Bill’s a “Dream Demon” but is everyone in the 2nd dimension a “dream demon” or is it only Bill’s species. Furthermore, Bill’s species couldn’t have been the only species that existed within the 2nd dimension, just like how Human-life isn’t the only type of life that exists within the 3rd dimension, there have been confirmed to be aliens within the Gravity Falls Universe, so what about the aliens in bill’s home dimension? Were they all just destroyed the moment Bill decided to go through with his unidentified science project to show his people the 3rd Dimension? Or do they still exist albeit on another flat planet on the 2nd dimension?
To add on that, what do you think happened to Bill’s original physical body? We know from the graph Ford showed us, that Bill inhabited the Nightmare Realm and used the Mindscape as a sort-of inbetween realm to link the two worlds, but why did bill need to communicate through the Mindscape instead of going to Earth himself?
What was stopping him from opening a portal there, or riding his getaway vehicle that he used to commit inter-dimensional crimes with his HenchManiacs in the Book of Bill?
Why did Bill need a physical form to enter our dimension, when he clearly was insinuated to have one from birth in his own dimension?
Did something happen to his original physical body? And if so what? I also can’t think of a reason why Bill was able to manipulate reality to such an extent, yet not other members of his species.

Edit: By the way, I think the reason why Bill's fellow shapes seemed to've been weirded out by his eye is because when we see Bill's police height photos (the one where a criminal stands in front of a huge ruler telling people the criminal's height if they ever got out) and we saw him from the side, Bill's body is like 2/3rds of an inch thick whole his eye protruded outwards like mad. So maybe that's what creepy so many out, he was a 2D being with a 3D eye.

I think that bill’s mutation makes total sense. Bill has his eye in front and in a 2d dimension, everyone else probably had their eye at their sides since they’d only be able to see 2d which would literally just be a line. Bill’s mutation might have seemed extremely weird to everyone else and since Bill’s eye was in front, he’d be the only one who’d be able to see everything else
Honestly the lullaby saying strange eye and not strange one eye just makes me think the eye is strange not because there's one but because it can see the 3rd dimension. The theory right now is that since his eye is in the middle of his body and since hes in the 2nd dimension he's always looking up which is the 3rd dimension. While everyone else has eyes on their corners or sides to look around in a 2d world. So a realistic picture of his parents would be one eye on the corners or two eyes on the sides. Theres no proof of his parents having 2 eyes but the only proof of one eye is just that bill has one eye.
This makes his screaming of "Why always the eye" during the finale have a whole new meaning.
Perhaps his people beat him up or bullied him because of his ability to see the 3rd dimension by punching him, (or even kicking and poking) his eye when he was a kid.
It would make sense considering flatland (the inspiration behind Euclydia) bans any talk of the 3rd dimension.
Also, it's because if you're being attacked and you have the chance to go for the eyes or head, then you sometimes strike the eyes and the attacker lets go. Bill's eye is there for all to see and touch so if Bill is not careful, people he is attacking will hit his eye once the opportunity arises lol
9:45 NGL but when reading this I actually started to cry a little because it shows how much Bill loved his mom and thinking he’s still in school, in the past and in his band but in reality she’s gone and the rest of his family and his people from his dimension and learning the truth shattered him
What if Bill's weirdmaggedon shenanigans is just his way of diatracting himself from his guilt and grief of losing his parents and maybe trying to take over Ford's dimension is Bill's way of trying to recreate his world and possibly try yo resurrect his parents in some way in this new 3 dimensional world.
That has to be the biggest lore drop I've ever seen since Journal 3 came out. Gravity Falls never fails to lore drop the darkest things, in this case, Bill refusing to confront his feelings of the guilt of killing his people and parents which landed him a one-way ticket to the theraprism by the Axolotl.

Bill’s projection (literally and figuratively) of him as a baby (image and description of cuteness and being loved by all) is most likely a lie to make himself feel better and/or trick us. his 2d dimension is heavily based on Flatland, which does not operate like seen in his baby picture, and class is based on how many sides one has (triangles being low with only 3, but equilateral being favored, and circles being priests/kings). how is he standing upright with 3d shoes? the point of a 2d world is to be flat on the x-y plane, bumping around and only seeing lines of the edges of other people, except for Bill who can see upwards (but maybe not necessarily stand up in the z direction). he most likely made a false image based on his knowledge of our dimension (that we’re suckers for emotional backstories and cute baby pictures) but still kept the all powerful ego as the truth or as a coverup. his “liberation” of his home world probably was physically forcing people’s bodies or the dimension itself into the 3rd dimension, therefore killing them. this whole thing is an emotional trick, to make us empathetic to his reasoning/actions, and we’re falling for it. you really trust Bill to tell the truth, especially about the hard reality of himself?
Color cipher confirms he wore velcro until he was 16 because he couldn't tie shoelaces. The only times he's ever been honest are through information hidden in layers of codes. Even in the book, he says he wrote them all.

I think Bill was actually loved at first UNTIL he began to tell them about the 3rd Dimension. His ego was definitely crushed when he found out they didn't like him after that, and because he was so used to being loved for who he is, he ended up burning his dimension by showing them 3D (?) Instead of taking responsibility, Bill decides they were stupid and decided to be the insane person he is now.
That doesn’t make any sense at all morally speaking.
Cause if you ask me, if I have some sorta genetic mutation that allows me to see the 4th dimension, and I decide to tell my society about it, only for them to do a complete 180 on me and start treating me like sh*t
Then of COURSE I’m gonna do whatever it takes to show them that the dimension exists!!
Granted I think Bill’s way of showing them the 3rd dimension was a little impulsive, since in the pages it’s implied that Bill was going to try to show his people the 3rd dimension through some weird science fair project or something, and that the whole thing went haywire which is why at the end of the page, Bill says that he’s alone in the Universe and that he can’t undo what was done.
But I definitely don’t think it has anything to do with taking “responsibility” for trying to prove to your ignorant society that you’re not crazy.

I'm beginning to think even if Bill did escape he's not going to be doing too well. The man is just falling apart now. The trauma over destroying is own dimension is popping up way more now in the book and on the website than it ever did in the actual series. Not to mention he also has the trauma of almost dying to Stan and having a breakdown when reminded of that moment. Bill is probably going to just as much of a danger to himself as others if he ever makes it out. Therapy is probably the best thing he needs right now, but he's too stubborn to use it to improve himself.

When we see him in the Theraprism we see a cracked line go from Bill’s eye all around his body, so whatever damage Stanley did to Bill during the Series Finale, seems to have left permanent implications on Bill’s Psyche and Astral Form(soul)

One other detail to point out that I learned from another youtuber on the topic of bills parents, Bills parents names represent two different mathematical terms in Geometry.
The Euclidean Triangle is referred to in Geometry as "The sum of ALL the angles of a triangle is equal to a straight angle (180 degrees)"
While a Scalene Triangle in Geometry refers to a Triangle whose Sides are always unequal, But whose internal Angles (inside the Triangle) will always ADD up to 180 Degrees.
So Bill was a Child of not just beings who where Triangle Shapes, But a literal Child of Laws of mathematical geometry, to be honest, It explains bills capacity to solve Very Complex mathematical equations that even Standford Pines could not understand at first when it came to building the portal until bill taught him.

Bill is pretty chaotic and wants to destroy things in the sake of fun and chaotic joy. Belos wanted to wipe out an entire realm of witches and magical beings due to being a witch hunter and almost caused a genocide over an entire race after taking over as emperor. Their both bad but Belos’ intentions were downright sinister and cruel from the start, making him a smidge worse than bill despite not even having 0.001% of the power that Bill Cipher has.
Belos is worse in my opinion! At least Bill has friends; and kills because he doesn’t value other’s lives. But Belos killed out of hatred. And Bill destroying Euclidea was an accident, and he actually feels a bit of guilt over it-

5:31 It would probably make sense that Euclidians would all have one eye, seeing as that would mean that they would lack depth perception as a population, which would then feed into the whole "2 dimensional" thing. Maybe Bill's eye is just special because he doesn’t lack depth perception? We see him be pretty accurate when it comes to throwing things, and he doesn’t constantly bump into walls, so maybe that’s why he’s also able to see the 3rd dimension?

To be honest the fact he wasn't always some pure evil monster was teased already during Weirdmaggedon. Alex saying his relationship with his family is worst than Stanley's for example, and how in the show itself, rather than laughing and making jokes about what he did to his dimension like he does all the time about the OTHER horrible things he does, Bill wasn't laughing- he looked peeved when talking about his dimension. He even had bags under his eye. And finally the Axolotl's poem hinting strongly that he did infact feel remorse over what he did to his dimension. So this isn't really as if it came out of nowhere and only started with the Book of Bill, it has already been implied ever since Weirdmaggedon.

Here’s my theory, which is probably everyone else’s theory: Bill did horrible shit to cope with the tragedy of losing his Homeworld and parents. Think about it, Bill often claims a monster destroyed it, then he claims he liberated it. It’s cause Bill kept believing inside he was a bad person, and that he would just need to keep doing bad things to make himself feel better. But now that he’s stuck in the Theraprism, he’s basically stuck, and will have continuous breakdowns, all just because he doesn’t want to admit that underneath his sadistic and arrogant god facade, he’s a pathetic and broken person who uses terrible things as a way to distance himself from being seen as a victim.
