That looks and sounds absolutely wonderful! The crust recipe is almost identical to the one I use for fruit pies. It is wonderful, and the recipe I use I found in an Amish cookbook. It makes 5 9" pie crusts. I think it was cut down for us "English" folk. But I love it, because I portion it out into disks, wrap them individually, and put them all in a gallon size freezer bag. Then I can get out whatever I need. And that reminds me, I need to make a batch before Thanksgiving!
Mary, do you have a gluten free pie crust that isn't gritty like sand? If you do would you mind making a video for us who are gluten sensitive? I am certain that many of us would greatly appreciate it. ❤
This is delicious!! Finally made it last night for dinner... added ground lamb, used my homemade ricotta and even though I messed up the pie crust by adding in the amount of butter for the filling... (ugh but I caught it in time to fix) it was absolutely amazing! This is a keeper and not just for holidays. Any old random Wednesday will do 😍

Mary when I first learn to cook my grandmother and great aunt Anna taught me that when using a glass container that went into the oven the temperature should be reduced 25°. Is that still true? With this dish using glass is the 375° for either glass or metal. Many thanks.
Actually 370F for glass. I dropped it down from many recipes that say 400F which is way too hot and causes the crust to burn. I found 370F worked great.❤️🤗❤️

Could you turn it into candied fruit? Put alcohol with it and sprits the house or splash on your body Or Can you drink it like a tea.
