Awesome! It's a great bit of kit. I've just forked out for another hot tent from Pomoly. I'll have to get another video out before it gets too warm!😅 Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed it. 😉
Nice one mate. I have recently bought the Onetigris Northgaze. Im going to be trying it out for the first time at the end of this month at the Pyners Preppers meet at Church farm. Looking forward to it. Rob.
I have a question. As I can't decide between the Conifer and Northgaze, I would be happy if you could give me some advice. As I like the Confier better, I doubt that my wife and I will have enough space in it with the stove. As I am 175 cm tall, I also wonder whether I will have to get down on my knees in it. Thanks, E.B. from Switzerland.
I have just bought the conifer tent ,it seems to be a darker green than the others I have seen on videos, and the logo is also different, its onetigris camping, printed on the tent ,is this the new logo ? . Anyhow I'm going to isle of mull ,end of November ,I have a gstove to run in the tent , needles to say I'm expecting a fair but of rain , from your experience will I be ok in the conifer hot tent ? , waterproof wise .
Hey mate. If you go to the video before this one, I believe it shows just how well this tent does in the rain. I had no dramas, a little bit of dampening inside the walls, but no issues that caused me any problems.
Great video mate, just subbed surprised you don't have more.. Hopefully that will change soon. What are your thoughts on this tent are you still keen on it. I'm really interested, never had a hot tent before, this one looks really versitile. Usually just have a bedroll, or bivvy and tarp. Cheers. 👍🏻
Thanks mate, much appreciated. Yeah, I really like the tent. It's a lot nicer sleeping in canvas as opposed to nylon. The downside for me is there is no footprint, but I just bought a 2x2 tarp for the floor. I've never used the tent with the awning side lifted, but I definitely will be soon. It's a great bit of kit and really well made. It's surprisingly waterproof, too, as it's only supposed to be 300mmHH, I think. Thanks for watching and commenting. it's much appreciated!
Stoves are a difficult thing to recommend because there's so many options. I want lightweight and compact, so I originally used the titanium woods walker stove. My new stove is the titanium tomount folding stove, which is in my latest video where we got busted by park rangers. It all depends on what you need and what your budget is, really, mate. Pomoly makes some really good ones and winnerwell do, too. Alternatively, one tigris makes a stainless one that doesn't collapse, which I've heard good things about.
I've never actually used any of my hot tents without the stove in, so it's always been open. They're all pretty well made, though, so there's no reason why they should let water in.
The way that it's angled inwards, means it doesn't. Or I haven't had water come in there. Of it was wind driven rain then maybe but you can zip the inner cover up which is waterproof 😊
Whats the circumference of the stove chimney hole. thinking of getting one but had experiences where there are gaps with the hole. Hoping to use it in Western Canadian fall/winter. (10 C to -21 C)
You're a lucky man being out there! That sounds awesome. I'll have to dig it out and have a measure. I think you cut it yourself, though, if memory serves? It seemed to be to be a good fit for my Woods Walker stove, but I can't really remember, mate. 😕
How do you find the gastro pod? That looks like a huge tent. The conifer is perfect for one person and a fire. Plenty of room and most chimney stacks are high enough to prevent burns.
@@LakeDistrictOutdoors yeah I love the space of the gastropod, me and a mate with huge fishing chair and still room to spare, was my own fault not using a super long chimney ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ah righ I see. Yeah normally as a rule we use is to have the chimney stack approx 3 feet above the peak of the tent with a spark arrestor on top which should have come with the stove. Most stoves come with a 2 or 3 meter stack but you have to select which one. What stove have you got?
@@LakeDistrictOutdoors Pomoly traveller with 7 foot chimney (which was lower than the peak let alone 3 ft higher) newb mistake, need a chimney extension now 😬
Yeah that might be your issue then. If you buy the 3 meter roll up stack for that stove you should be good to go. That would put it approx 2 foot above the peak and should be enough really. 👍
Yeah, you definitely don't want to be yomping with this tent. Predominantly, all our hot tenting is done via a canoe trip. Easier to lug about. There's some good light weight options about for hot tents, though. Thanks for watching 😊
rain on canvas a wonderful sound great kit thanks guys stay safe have fun
It is a relaxing thud 👌. Thank you for watching and have a great weekend.
I just bought one. Can’t wait to try it out

Nice! The northgaze looks mint! I've just got a Pomoly tent and first impressions, it looks class! Happy camping buddy! 🏕

Thank you so much🙏 you're an angel 👼🤗
You are so welcome😊
Cracking tent lads good stuff in the rain again lol
Cheers Butchy. It's a great tent and Dan chose well with this one. The canvas tents are becoming a fav of ours now.
Yeah they look really strong like and well made

@LakeDistrictOutdoors cool good to know thanks mate love pc, got tents and swags but no hot tent. Is there a basic stove you would recommend?

Very nice does the stove jack leak win Closed up and not useing it ? Good show thanks

Does it leak through the mesh through the mesh vent at the bottom? Thanks

@@LakeDistrictOutdoors that's good to hear, as I've just bought one at the bargain price of £170! Thank you
Crikey! That is a bargain! Top effort. 👌

@Silas-lf4cc can't argue with that. Even if it's been used, still quids in! 👍

Checked the tent and you cut an X in it so you can have it as big or as small as you like. 😉
Thank you 👍 @@LakeDistrictOutdoors
@@LakeDistrictOutdoors Helped a ton. My wife and are going for two day hike on our anniversary you helped a ton
Thanks for watching mate. No problem :)
I debated between the conifer and the gastropod opting for the latter. Then burnt 6 holes in its first use and wished I’d gotten the TC conifer.

Id get one if l had more of a permanent set up location, but for me to bulky for my needs and a bit of a faf after hard days yomping , nice though

Fart at 1:21 !
Just bought one, will test it out at Glatsonbury
