I dual wield an iPhone XS and a galaxy s23 ultra and obviously I can tell the difference but it’s not a deal breaker at all. I love my 16 Pro, in part for the 120Hz display, but this is the closest Apple has come to making the base model more than good enough. That and I would've loved to get my phone in teal.
You notice the difference 120hz makes if you scroll text like youtube comments, try switching between 60 and 120, and it's very noticeable. The text goes blurry when on 60hz.

It's a little funny that you mention the desire to switch to Android at the end. I've been an Android user since the inception of the Xperia phones, but the arrival of the 16 made me switch to iOS. There's something about how well integrated the ecosystem is into everything out there that has its own little appeal. It's not even so much about the hardware, but the experience. Especially when traveling a lot. Apple Pay is more universally accepted than anything else, Apps have features on iOS that are simply missing on Android or heavily gimped in some ways, and overall it just seems like that when smartphone integration comes to mind with companies, iOS gets there first. It's mainly this that has finally tempted me enough to switch, and while I miss certain aspects of Android (namely on the multitasking front), I can't deny that my iPhone feels a lot more "usable" in day-to--day life.

I liked your discussion for the 60hz. I hear a lot of reviewers say it doesn’t matter cuz the average person won’t notice, and the other side being reviewers arguing how it’s disgraceful to even provide 60hz anymore. You on the other hand acknowledge that you yourself can’t really tell, but know others do. And you know what? I may fine it hard to imagine being in that perspective, but I know very well as a musician that there are people who are incapable of telling apart two very distinct tones. It’s just a thing that happens. With that said, I really appreciate your take. I am one of the many who can tell. I use high refresh rate panels on the daily. My iPhones and iPads are the only devices I have that are still using 60hz, and it’s bothersome but I tolerate it. Even so, apple has done a great job at making 60hz feel smooth as hell so it’s not the most bothersome thing for me during daily use unless I’m actively on my MacBook or Desktop.
I'd argue the electrically bonded glue is not repair friendly. Just use less strong glue and continue using pull tabs. Now you need to buy and have the knowledge to use another piece of equipment that may or may not ever be useful to you again

Been a follower since those early pocketnow videos and I hope you stick around!
But is it a flagship anymore now that there is a pro lineup? There can only be one true flagship and that's the pro models for iPhones and the Ultra models (or fold of you are into that) for Samsung. The others are just high end phones, but not really flagships.
@@alexandruilea915 ok then , even if we don't consider it as a flagship , don't you think a phone that is costing 799$ and will be supported upto 2030 , should have 256gb as base storage🤷 (Same argument for pixels)
I went to the store to try the 16 and I was able to plainly see how slow the screen appeared. On Android, I felt like the 60hz phones were better and I at least I had the ability to tinker with the animation speeds and transitions. I think we have reached a point where some average consumers can see the difference. That being said, the 16 series is not much different from the 15 series except for AI and the RAM (which I am sure, helps). I tried the camera button and I hope it gets better with a software update because it felt...finicky. The cameras are what we expect, so is the update guarantee. It is a boring update. However, Apple isn't the only company with this issue. Aside from foldables, phones have become stagnant
I have a 14 pro and a 14 plus. While using the phone for scrolling/launching applications the pros 120hz display dominates, however, while consuming content I notice much less of a difference. It really depends on how you use your phone with what you’ll see in terms of difference in display refresh rates.
Another well delivered review! Although tempted by the camera control, the lack of features dropping with the phone keeps me from pulling the trigger on an upgrade.
As a normie iPhone user with no particular niche “needs” like refresh rate or special cameras, I’m glad the base models are stepping up because this’ll only help their longevity in the refurbished market down the line. Still rocking the XS, might upgrade to the SE ‘22/24 later on, but I can see myself going for a base 16 in a few years because of the amount of features you get here. The foldables are still tempting, that nostalgic feeling can be a very strong factor.
The way RUclipsrs just say it is what it is when it comes to 60hz on base iPhones but I am sure if an android at that price drops a 60hz phone it would be international headlines
They're weirdly tough to capture on video! 😄 Will drop a kitty-health update on the Captain2Phones Instagram once formerly-sick Steampot clears her observation phase.
I actually use 60hz on my 120hz phone because it's either 1080@120 or 1440@60. But the difference is night and day, although once you get used to 60 it's fine.
If I hadn't upgraded this year, my only holdout to the base 16 would have been the refresh rate only for the fact I can notice it and it unfortunately does bother me. I could force myself to deal with it but it's a good thing I don't need to worry about it. It's really good that this year Apple didn't lock that much behind the Pro model which was honestly shocking. Seems like an anti-Apple move as is the repairability stuff but both are appreciated regardless. As for everything else, well it's clear Apple pushed this as the "AI iPhone", and yet their AI stuff wasn't ready for the launch day, or even the launch month. Hell, for as much as I love a lot of what iOS 18 brings to the table, this has also been an abnormally buggy OS update, seeing reports of betas bricking watches and iPadOS 18 bricking the latest iPad Pros. The iPhones seem to be spared from most of the bad stuff, but it makes me concerned as someone in the ecosystem of the fruit tech company. My anecdotes aside, love your reviews as always. Also really hope Clicks Gen 2 comes to the 15 Pros. Not guaranteed but I'd appreciate it all the same.
Should have made a double review with the iphone 16 pro because there isn't much difference except screen and processor. But it would take to long. Anyway as always nice vid.
Love the "Nerd vs Normal" closing statement! Also... maybe I missed it in a previous video, but what's the (Hasselblad?) film light in the back right of shot at 10:48?
These new iPhones look great as they always do. I currently have a Pixel 7 pro and I had pixels since 2020 so I don't know if I want to try anything new. I'm upgrading in April next year and the choices are tough.
I would go from my 13 pro to a regular 16 in a heartbeat if the screen was 90-120hz range. I get it, a lot of users doesn’t care. But the precision and experience of using a screen with higher refresh rate is very noticeable and must be hard to go back on once you’re used to it. Instead I’m looking at android again, because the pro 16s are expensive and incomplete.
I personally don't think a high refresh rate is a deal breaker *per se* . But its just that in 2024 not having it is a significant compromise. And thats fine, but whats not fine is a significant compromise in phone this expensive
Surprised how few people are talking about the AOD difference. Shopping for a new iPhone this year, and AOD is the single reason I'm opting for the Pro. The 5x and 120Hz are nice but I could take it or leave it. AOD on the other hand? Truly spoiled for me, turning an iPhone off and not seeing my wallpaper/notifications just feels like a waste of space.
120Hz being important or not, given how non-Pro 15 series users were left with no AI features, it's safer to be patient, save some more money and go for Pro model. I can bet that in near future we'll hear "yeah, but only A18 Pro chip can handle ____".
Been wanting Apple to do a galaxy fold like phone for ages. I appreciate apples approach to waiting until they think they can do it properly and a little less “cutting edge”, but I do wish they’d do it much sooner rather than later.
Ex-Apple technician here - those adhesive strips were a 🐶 to get out (and a hazard) if you didn’t twist and pull “just so” 🙄 I can only imagine the joy and celebration when this was announced 😂
Like I have said for all these videos, if you've never had an iPhone or an older model then go for it. But if you have the 14 or 15 then save some money unless you have to have the latest and greatest.
4:30 that's exactly what I said why did they place it halfway into the phone! put it more to the edge like every single camera does! you want to mimic a digital camera at least do it right!
After a careful review of other people on RUclips reviewing your clicks case I will not be purchasing due to bad reviews. The price clearly isn’t justified for the half work you put into it and seems like a money grab.
I got to compare the colors of the Iphone 16 today in an apple store, as until now every store had just the not-blue version out, which was a huge disappointment, in reality the color looks like Milka chocolate wrap ran out of ink, but the green-whatsitsname looks so good I almost bought it on the spot.
Ugh, thank you for reporting on the positioning of the button, Michael. I'm a die hard Xperia user, and was concerned with how much further up the phone Apple had placed it.
I’ve never used android. I’ve always been an iPhone user since the iPhone 5 but I’m one of those who’s been thinking about picking up a Google pixel nine just to dip my toes in the water.

This audience is not the average user though. We are in our tech enthusiast bubble
@@lucioledizerot196 yupp. precisely... the avg user only knows his experience is better or worse, we know why so we need keep bringing it up
@@shakerChit's ultimately up to that general audience to make noise about the refresh rate.
I dual wield an iPhone XS and a galaxy s23 ultra and obviously I can tell the difference but it’s not a deal breaker at all. Once I use the XS for more than five minutes, I forget about the higher refresh rate and vice versa. I don’t think it’s that much of an issue with software that fluid to be honest
1:32 OK I had no idea you could swipe on that icon to switch between inboxes... Doh
Haha - happy to help!
"Pro" especially in its pricing, here in Europe de base iPhone 16 with 128 Gb costs 1000 euro, a ludicrous amount of money for what you get.
Your thinking is appreciated and doesn't wanna put you off, but in all honesty, will never prefer to use the little keys over the good touch screen!! All the best and thanks for the video.
I love my 16 Pro, in part for the 120Hz display, but this is the closest Apple has come to making the base model more than good enough. That and I would've loved to get my phone in teal.
Had all the Pro Max's, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15. Went with the 16 Plus this year, loving the much lighter weight and adapted to the 60Hz.
You notice the difference 120hz makes if you scroll text like youtube comments, try switching between 60 and 120, and it's very noticeable.
The text goes blurry when on 60hz.
Michael, you’re a great visuals guy. Your videos are such a sight to see. But man, what you have to say about the products you review.. always a masterclass. ALWAYS. You have amazing writing skills. Unbeatable.
Apple Pay is just Tap-to-pay at its core but branded.
just ordered a clicks keyboard for my wife!
i love your voice, the way, storytelling. i subscribed. it is just so different. the type of shi i wanna watch while eating something you feel me?
I'm following you way back when you're still at Pocketnow with Jaime Rivera and all the I can say is that you age like good wine!🍷
You're going better and better and I'm so glad to see how much followers you gained all through these years..
More power to your channel Michael!
Live long and prosper! ❤
Keep going Michael Fisher i’m so glad that I found your video because I want to buy also the click keyboard and have subscribe on the click site its not avaible for my iPhone 16 yet but can’t wait to buy it is the best product that i saw so far thanks a lot man!
The way you make notions always amuses me. And that’s why you’re the best, Micheal❤️.
Apparently my wife finally change to flip 6. Coming from iPhone 14pro. She do feels bored with her iPhone over the years
Man I love your reviews, your scripts are delightfully written and you've become so much better at editing and pacing your videos over the years that I like to watch them, whether I'm interested in the actual product or not. Been a follower since those early pocketnow videos and I hope you stick around!
Hear me out, Clicks but for clamshells like foldables. Making the front screen more usable. :D
NO! Clicks but in a slide out QWERTY keyboard fashion instead :^)
Hear me out. No clicks at all.
Just here to share my gratitude, Watch a bunch of reviews, as any phone comes out, but make my purchase decision and opinions only after your videos.
It should be illegal to launch a flagship phone with 128GB base storage in 2024 .
this is what we should actually be talking about
But is it a flagship anymore now that there is a pro lineup? There can only be one true flagship and that's the pro models for iPhones and the Ultra models (or fold of you are into that) for Samsung. The others are just high end phones, but not really flagships.
@@alexandruilea915 ok then , even if we don't consider it as a flagship , don't you think a phone that is costing 799$ and will be supported upto 2030 , should have 256gb as base storage🤷
(Same argument for pixels)
@@sv6180 i can agree with that, we should be getting at least 256gb from all high end phones
Why?
Man you put so much effort in these reviews. Your work is art!
Ok…. I’m interested in the click now. Looks much improved. With a 16 pro max that a looooong boy lol
I really enjoy and love your reviews Michael! Thanks for the hard work!
Clicks should be a MagSafe attachment not a phone case, so it’s compatible with multi generational iPhones.
Always great to find a new video from MrMobile Would love to hear your thoughts on Huwai's Trifold and Trifolds in general
So pleased I stayed with Android - none of this apologetic nonsense from Apple Corp. Great presentation as usual, really really good.
6:32 that burger is the size of my face. it looks heavenly.
Your pov and story telling poured into every videos is always on another level!
another fantastic review. Using ambient mode in RUclips is a sin though lol
please make clicks available for pixel 😢
Returned my 16 Pro for a regular 16 coming from a 12 Pro I just wanted a new iphone with usb-c and upgraded storage.
This was a new prespective to me! All the best, MrMobile! 👏
Gotta love your reviews ! Keep up the great work!
You've been a inspiration to me for years , Thank you mr. Mobile
The line you said in the end of the review is so accurate..good review Fisher
Loved your last line of the review 12:12....the normals... Really good writing.
okay that wallpaper at 3:25 is better than any wallpaper in panels app
First-Class review Mr.M. Still want a foldable....but in an iOS dominated home....this (or the 16 Plus) will be the one to choose.
I really enjoy your videos, Mike.. The 60fps and so much time taking to explain stuff with cute English are delightful. cheers!
The way RUclipsrs just say it is what it is when it comes to 60hz on base iPhones but I am sure if an android at that price drops a 60hz phone it would be international headlines
Compromising both vertical and horizontal placement of the shutter button, this isn't very Apple like!
Watching this on my own Razr+ from 2023, love this thing
Ditto on the voice typing experience. It's the one thing I truly dislike about my 16 Pro when comparing it to my Pixel 8 Pro.
Tbh I always wait for your review of new phones to decide if I should upgrade from my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Tbh I’m still happy with it.
Amazing video per usual but how did I just find out I can swipe the icons on Gmail to go in-between inboxes?? Mind blown 🤯 thank you!
Your videos are beyond amazing you are so talented ❤
Love the cats❤ Should include them more in your videos.
They're weirdly tough to capture on video! 😄 Will drop a kitty-health update on the Captain2Phones Instagram once formerly-sick Steampot clears her observation phase.

That's just so cute!
I LOVE that you called yourself out about the refresh rate
Should have made a double review with the iphone 16 pro because there isn't much difference except screen and processor. But it would take to long. Anyway as always nice vid.
Now, this is a tech RUclipsr with a product that's worth it's price AND hype.
The most exciting thing about updating my phone is knowing that I'll be able to get Clicks, since there isnt one for the iphone 13.
I personally don't think a high refresh rate is a deal breaker *per se* . But its just that in 2024 not having it is a significant compromise. And thats fine, but whats not fine is a significant compromise in phone this expensive
The green shinola is marvelous.
IPhone 16 pro's refreshing new design...!
It looks the same
It feels the same
It IS a button
While the upgraded camera and battery life are impressive, it honestly feels more like an incremental update...
11:42 “You’ve got a potent package for those carrying an iPhone 14 or older”. LOL
Is that what Tim Cook tells himself in the mirror every morning? 😂
That clicks footage was dope. I hope you get rich from it! Honestly the best RUclipsr product I've ever seen. Stoked for you!
Great review!
I'm a die hard Xperia user, and was concerned with how much further up the phone Apple had placed it.
once they put a 120hz screen on the regular iphone there will be no need for me to even think of getting the Pro variant
I have 13 mini and will upgrade only when the 120hz can be found from the base models.
I’ve never used android. I’ve always been an iPhone user since the iPhone 5 but I’m one of those who’s been thinking about picking up a Google pixel nine just to dip my toes in the water.
