As far as i heard old NIC teaming is no longer recommenced and for that they recommend switch embedded teaming. And Teaming won't benefit from SMB Multichannel.
Interesting. I worked on two sites this week that had some servers that needed BMR done on them and the recovery images were configured with NIC teaming within Windows.
@@bjtechnewshd on R730 when i was configuring Nic teaming on Server 2019 and from information i gather for Hyper-V is best to use SET not Regular one. Maybe for normal vm plain NIC Teaming will be fine. SET works with RDMA and LBFO don't. Anyhow diring configuration i did SET and well it worked. When i've replaced Server to R7615 i didn't do any Nic teaming or SET. i Just put single 25GB nic for Hyperv and single 25GB Nic for managment/ backup
Its true, Server 2022 will not allow creation of NIC Teams via server manager but it may still be done with PS. The biggest drawback to SET is that the team may only be created on identical NICs for example you cannot team an onboard port with a quad port AIC. Further, TCP offloading must be disabled.
