I was feeling the same way about wanting to look good while working from home so my mom bought me a pair of the silk joggers from Lily Silk. Game changer. Comfy and beautiful. I wear them with my lightweight cashmere sweaters, and I feel great. I wish they came in more colors.
Hi, Kathryn! I've been meaning to try Lily Silk out for a while now. I've seen a lot of influencers talking about them, but never met an actual real life person who trusted the brand. Now I'm gonna have to get those silk joggers 😜
I love the crop sweater with the fur trim. I once received a sweater that I wasn’t really into. To make sure it got a lot of wear, I made it my Friday uniform. So every Friday, that was the sweater I wore styled in different way but most of the time, the exact same way. You could do the same, wear it once a week or once every other week that way you are force to utilize it more and get creative on how you style it.
I love coats by Zara. I have 2 pieces from them and they have lasted for more than 5 years! H&M also has a section called Premium Selection which has great pieces..
Thank you so much for uploading and especially for listening to our requests and adding the links. It is very greatly appreciated. I saw that Zara black and white blazer and you made it look soooo amazing. Happy New year!!
Pair the fringed black top with the Zara houndstooth blazer & washed out jeans or black pants. It would be a gorgeous look for winter! Love your hair. It’s looks so much more chic than when it was longer. You’re inspiring me to cut mine! Happy new year! Alicia
I always love classics and keep coming back to them. I agree that there are treasured pieces found in the most unlikely places which keeps me looking at some lower price stores. Regarding the cute flirty black top, try wearing with one of your beautiful scarves to keep you from feeling too exposed. Pair with some dark jeans for a kicked up casual look. Love your channel 💚
Zara makes the cutest and good quality items especially blazers!!! I have about 12 white blazers living here in California where its warm most often. Mariana can you do a tutorial in your haircut and how you style it? 💜
Happy (belated) new year Mariana 🌸 May your channel blossom in the new year! I had such a good laugh at the maternity jeans, I definitely considered them myself (non-pregnant). Lockdown has made me realize just how uncomfortable certain clothing items and undergarments can be and I wanted nothing to do with them 😂
Hello Mariana! Thank you for this video. I loved all your favorite pieces and have equivalents in my closet. I am fortunate to have inherited some of my mother's scarves and jewelry (earrings and brooches especially) and I use them often. At this time in my life when I can actually afford more expensive clothing, I prefer to shop in vintage and thrift stores and I agree that one can find amazing quality if you know what to look out for. Best Wishes for 2022 and I look forward to more of your videos.
Hi, Jam! Thank you for watching it ;) I really want to make 2022 the year of thrifting for me. I feel like it's something I can get better at and nowadays, with Etsy, Depop and Vinted, it's so convenient and easy. Adding it to my resolutions!
Love your insights on fashion and the way you communicate them! I'm intrigued by your collection of hats and what you think about wearing them. I love hats but can sometimes they feel like wearing costumes. I wish they would become more fashionable (along with sommer gloves!). Much love.
I really have to step up my hair game. My collection is limited to a few summery straw hats and wool berets. This year I’ll try and get myself a Borsalino fedora
I only see 2 of your videos but I’m already in love! I agree so much with the out of the box part, I bought a cute plaid dress in kid’s section years ago, cute as it is, it’s too short for a big woman like me, it end up becoming a sleeping dress and the kind of photo taking dress when I want to show off my legs 🤣
Love the fur trimmed grey sweater, teamed with a classic gold pendant I think would look stunning, thank you for another brilliant video.you are my favourite youtubber happy new year
Gorgeous x. I don't remember seeing that houndstooth jack in Zara, it looks great! I love the mock jumper, they look so chic and flattering to a face, I wish they were more around to choose from.
Hello Mariana😊, I loved the idea of the video, very creative and useful 😊👍. I like your fashion style and you brought my attention to pieces I didn't think to use before, so thank you for that. I am looking forward to the next video, I hope all is going on well with you. 🌼🌼🌼
@@MarianaZelenjuk Hello, 🤔 reflecting on my 2021 clothing choices I realized two highlights: dresses👗 and red lipstick💄. I worked from home most of the year and I mostly chose a dress to wear almost ever working day and red lipstick. Before the COVID era when I had a challenging day I used to wear high heels and put on red lipstick 🤗🤗, it helped to lift my spirit 😄and showed the boys who is the boss😎. I think that was my mechanism to cope with the situation. I shop Zara, H&M and Talbot and I still have couple that I purchased from overseas where I worked, totally worth what I paid for.
I love the hounds tooth blazer by Zara. very classy. also the H & M cardigan is lovely. Scarves are my favorite to add to my outfit, however this year we have to start wearing uniforms in the office so I am somewhat disappointed that I cannot wear them to work now.
Oh, Ivana, I feel for you! I had to work in uniform once, and it was so hard. Although it did make me extra-inspired whenever I had the chance to dress in my own clothes 😊
I always buy trench/rain coats that have a zip or button in/out insulated liner. That way I can wear just the shell when it’s wet, but not cold, or add the liner for colder weather. It can be a pain to add or remove the liner, so I check the weather and do it before-hand, not waiting until the morning rush. I can usually leave it in or out for weeks or even a month or two before having to switch. I always bought London Fog brand, because of their big selection, good quality and price, but their quality has deteriorated somewhat over the decades. For example, they used to use nylon, but now use polyester. They also have some single-breasted styles, which I prefer. I still wear my London Fog trench from the early-90s, though, I love it. I agree, for cold weather, unless it’s pouring, there is nothing like a wool coat or jacket, my problem is that I loathe polyester linings, which even high-end brands use now.
So hard to find high-quality linings nowadays. I know Max Mara still used silk in some of their pieces… never tried London Fog, but I know it’s a super iconic and traditional brand for raincoats. I’ll check it out or even try to find something vintage!
Love the video , will like to see the spring/summer wardrobe pieces. My favorite earrings are the pearls earrings . I do like winter clothes but where I live it’s almost always warm 🤩
Love the video!!! Im looking for a white blazer too! Let us know when you find the perfect one! By the way, can you make a video on how you style your hair?
Hi Mariana, I really enjoyed this video. I agree with many of your points here, and must confess I did have a negative view of Zara over the years due to my inexperience with recognising quality. My stylist convinced me to try own their wool trousers and now I have several. Agree on the blazers - my first blazer for work more than 15 years ago was from Zara. I have a similar houndstooth blazer from Massimo Dutti, and I love wearing it with casual clothing. What are your thoughts on Massimo? Thank you for the lovely message at the end of the video, I am so glad to have found your channel and look forward to learning more from you❤️
Hey K M, and thank you for watching! I love Massimo Dutti. I think they have very reasonable prices and higher quality materials, which is great especially for those "forever pieces" that work as building blocks in our wardrobes.
I like the fur-trimmed top, the tricky thing is that the fur color is such a different color (warm) from the body color (cool neutral). Maybe try it with a similar color brown/tan faux leather trousers/leggings, or slim skirt (ASOS? for selection). I would put a white or barely-cream turtleneck underneath, not an ivory or beige-y one. I think if they had repeated the fur at the neck, the top would have been much more successful, but you can fake it by adding a matching cheap fur collar, try Amazon. Or with a bottom in my “black”, in other words, white. Black doesn’t really go with everything, but white does, and it doesn’t kill colors like black does. Because you love it, try to make it work, definitely.
Your videos inspired me to go browse through H&M recently but it was very disappointing. I didn’t find anything. Not sure if it was because it was after Christmas and they were low on stock, or if H&M in the US is worse than in Europe… 🤔 I really dislike polyester, nylon and acrylic. The cuts right now just seem so baggy and loose too (for pants and tops). I prefer shopping at thrift stores where I find treasures in silk, cashmere and linen for a fraction of the price of new. 😁
I think H&M goes through phases. Sometimes they have great things, but especially at the end of the season, when sales start, it seems like they only have random pieces nobody wanted to purchase. You sound like an A-level thrifter, Isa 😊! Any tips on how to find good pieces?
@@MarianaZelenjuk good to know! Once you start thrifting, it is hard to pay full price for nice items… my tips: 1. Thrift stores in affluent areas will have nice items because it reflects what the local population donates 2. Visit several shops to find the better organized stores. For example my favorite thrift stores are divided by category (trousers, jeans, skirts, dresses, sweaters, etc), size, and color. It makes it sooo much easier to shop. Much less digging. More enjoyment shopping 😃 3. Go with friends or people who know you well. They may spot something you missed or persuade you to try on something you would not otherwise. And you also laugh together at the funny / outrageous things you find along the way 4. Be selective. Know the materials and brands you will buy and the ones you will turn down. Don’t buy just based on price
I would wear the Audrey Hepburn-style top with a pair of black cigarette pants or some leggings with a seam down the front and stirrup bottoms...if you know what I'm talking about!! Oh and scarves.......oh my!!....my life's passion. i have 3 drawers full of silk scarves of all varieties. Every time I go out, my husband says 'For God's sake....PLEASE don't come back with any more scarves!!'
you have my kind of fashion style and I loved your favorite pieces...
