    In the UK where humidity is high most of the year or slight leaks in the roofing with constant rain it can help rot the wood faster.

    Is it ok to apply spray foam insulation when the attic is 110 degrees? Will it fully cure? Or will it off gas forever?

    • @Tht1_N8ve
      @Tht1_N8ve Год назад +1

      gotta allow ventilation and circulation while the foam is curing within the 24hrs. usually i tell homeowners to keep ventilating for a day or two depending on how they feel comfortable with. i usually have a fan and hose sucking air out of the attic and also another fan and hose blowing air in to keep circulating air if i have enough room in openings like access doors.

    • @robertm5969
      @robertm5969 Год назад

      There's no best insulation, it all depends on what you need it to do.
      Sometimes you want your insulation to also act as a vapor barrier, sometimes you want it to reduce sound, sometimes you want it to be flame resistant, sometimes you want it easy to install. Basements need different insulation than above grade. Different climates need different moisture barrier strategies

    • @ryalsackjon3020

      A chemical reaction. This spray hose is connected to to barrels of chemicals. To work properly, they have to be heated to a certain temperature. Once the temp is reached, You unvalve the spray gun, and the chemical runs down separate hoses to the nozzle of the gun. At the last split second, when you pull the trigger, the gun allows the two chemicals to touch, the air hose on the gun blows it out, and the chemical starts reacting and expanding on the fly.

      Spray foam is used as an air barrier, not a sound barrier. The finished sprayed product is made of a plastic, and while it may be a little squishy, it has an exterior that can let sound bounce off of it quite easily. Every room that our customers ask to be soundproofed, we line with mineral wool. It is a very thick, abrasive form of fiberglass that has little bits and pieces of sediment and rock that help to catch sound before it passes through the fiberglass. And it makes all the difference in the world.
