Hey mate…even just getting a degree is debatable today. Nice ideas shared mate. Life is too short to not enjoy what you are doing. Great vid mate! …Like 8 🙂 Happy to support
Thanks for sharing this, I've been strongly thinking about whether I should get one or not. For now I think I will pass though... Nice video man, keep it up 💪
Have you seen the MS in Civil Engineering really help you on the design side of your job day to day? ..I’m getting a Con. Engineering degree now, and the courses are obvi more focused on the construction process than the design... I’m fearful that it will “pigeon hole” me What do you think ?
Thanks for commenting! It really depends on what you want to do. My masters was geared towards construction so it was relatively applicable. I dont do much design so my masters degree in this industry is more about looking better on paper than anything else. I may be biased but to me starting with construction is better because you can see how things come together and how many details need to be thought about for things to actually be built.
I love that you brought up the versatility of the online degree. Even though I would not have done my MBA again if I were to go back in time, I personally love teaching myself so the online degree would still be my preference. Thanks for brining up these questions Kienen. Knock out video man!
Hi Kienen, I’m planning to do a masters in cyber security however I majored in sociology for my undergrad. Would you recommend getting a bachelors in cyber security or get a Google IT certification and go for the masters?
I think doing online master's make sense if the cost is half of the in-class masters degree AND you are able to work while you study AND the company pays for your tuition partially if not all.
Haha yup! Thats definitely the ideal situation. My thought was always that work would give me the best knowledge out there and I didnt want to set myself back. Appreciate you watching!
Great advice. Being passionate about what you are trying to do is a must. And the cost for the degree should definitely be compared with the value you receive from it. And considering your schedule for a super important if you are working full-time. All great questions to ask yourself.💯💯💯
Bro, I'm considering enrolling for an MBA program online. Here's the thing, I've researched about so many schools; some just offer MBA program without any specialization while others offer MBA with some specializations. The former are way cheaper than the later. For now, I can afford the one without any specializations. Do you suggest I still go ahead?
Congrats on getting your masters! I've always thought about getting my masters if my company will pay for my degree but if not, my undergraduate computer science degree is good enough haha. Great video! :)
If you truly know you want to work in construction and not design, likely construction engineering will be a better degree because its more focused and applicable. The civil degree just gives you more versatility if you aren’t sure which direction to go
I just wondering about if somebody`s didnt have any preliminary experience in a job field, like lets say data science, but already on this path studying by himself over a year the basic components of a master program in data science, what the better option for him? Find a job in a related field or go straight to the online master program? P.S. The person is self starter and highly organized, just wants to switch career and make more money, but at the same time looking for something that will inspire him to go deeper and become a truly expert in the field.
In the perfect scenario, you find a job that allows you to do your online masters and helps fund a bit of it. To me, I prefer experience over academics because it gives you clarity on whether the industry is right for you. And if youre a self starter youll still get the education if you want even years out of school
Congrats on getting a master!! Education is something we can't lose and no one can take from us!! An investment in our own selves is often the most effective investment!! Awesome vid Kienen!!📈
I earned a Master's online this year in Business and Corporate Communication. Going for a second Master's in August.
where can we apply

If your goal is to do construction engineering (like you), would you advise getting your BS is construction engineering or civil engineering?
