If you ever come to southern Illinois I have a field that is loaded with artifacts
@@raymondkelley8514 Wow! Thank you
@@thehooverboys your welcome
Where do you normally detect I hope I spelled that right
Y'all need a Claw-rake. After the field has been plowed and a rain, take a Claw-rake and a Short Spade with ya. Areas where you feel there may be more and areas where there soft mud you can run a rake through it and they can come up 3 - 5 at a time, if you're in an area where there had been a campsite and "Always along Creek Bed". Walk the creek water and look at the spots where the water flows over roots and catches debris. (Watch for Snakes and "Woodboogers" - I don't care what folks think, they're out there in wooded areas by creeks and lakes.) Ya know what a Woodbooger is right? (Squashes)
These are a good outing to take your dogs with ya and "if you've promised the kids" a 2nd day at one of these sites is a great outing for kids and a lunch picnic.
These are gray Metal-detecting locations for Civil War items, particularly in Tennessee, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.
Teach them to keep eyes on the ground for the Arrowheads, snakes, and Hornets Nests or Ground Bees (often by tree trunks).
You guys are so fun.
Awesome Video!!!
Tennessee, USA
That's not a Paleoindian point. It's a late stage preform or knife. Paleo point would be thinner and have a different flaking pattern. Based on the points that were found, site looks to be Late Archaic to Middle Woodland.
Sorry Kurt, I believe Adam is correct, but still probably around the 3500 yr old mark give or take 1,000.
Thanks for the info
I don't know much about arrowheading but there were some pretty impressive ones in there. Great job fellas!
we will get u one, one of these days, not like them ones u see in some videos (what is it), i'll get you a real arrowhead
The more eyeballs the better. I’m in
When wooly mammoths, ground sloths and ginger bears roamed the earth. Lol
Hahaha! Thanks Jerry
l love this channel , it isn't always about metal detecting but about saving history :)
Absolutely! Thanks John
As long as the items are properly documented. They tell a lot of history when the DATA is assembled.
Wow! That paleo point is a beauty! Love the Native artifacts. Congrats!
Thanks Geoff
It is so exciting to think that paleo arrowhead is beautiful. I can imagine how many more have been destroyed.thanks for bringing us this.
That was some great finds, I can't get over the age of some of them. To sit in that field for all those years and be found by you. Congrats on the finds Kurt, enjoyed the video and as always Good Luck, Be Safe and HH.
Quarter Hoarder yesterday and Kurt today. I wouldn't mind being Paul for a day!
Pistol Patrick great observation friend👍🏻
Haha! Paul is a good friend
Yes im blessed to have the time right now, and the oppurtunity to spend it with some great people, always a pleasure
I use to hunt arrowheads a lot out west here but I haven't been out in a long time. This makes me want to go look. Great finds.
Thanks Lee. Best of luck
There is always that thought “ the last person to touch this point was so long ago “
Cool video Kurt ! So much history in America !
Thanks David. Absolutely
I live in Kentucky and love arrow head hunt's love you all keep up the good work
Thanks Megan!
I live in Kentucky too!
Best channel on RUclips, great mix of detecting, bottle and point hunting, keep it going!
Thank you for the kind words
Hello Kurt, you know in my situation it’s hard to find comfort of any kind. Tuesday night is the hardest, my wife is constantly saying relax, relax. This morning all she said was are you ready? Where are you going with the Hover Boys? I was so ready to go on a great adventure I dropped my tablet twice, so my wife set me all up and went for some coffee (I don’t know what I would do without my wife). Wow! Again thank you for sharing your outstanding adventure of finding very cool arrowheads that could be as old as 5000 or even 10,000 years old. It makes you wonder how it was used last? How did it end up there with the tip missing? As always, thanks for sharing your great adventure with all of us (me). It’s really exciting to see what you and the guys come up with next. My Dr. will not check my BP on Tuesday - it’s that fun!
Thank you for coming along again Phillip! We have an awesome video coming tomorrow. Don’t lose any sleep over it though. All the best to you!
I grew up in Wyoming where arrow heads and Native American artifacts were in my back yard. I love this and thank you for sharing. Brings back many great memories.
That’s awesome Pete! Thank you
Thanks Kurt! I loved the show as it brought back great memories of hunting arrowheads with my Uncle Joe on the river bottoms in NE Missouri, where I used to live. He had several cigar boxes full of arrowheads he'd found over the years while working the crop fields. I haven't really gone out looking here in Montana, but I suspect they're here too!
Thanks Cheryl. It’s crazy to think they’re scattered all over. Sad to think about how it all went down a few hundred years ago
When I saw the point I figured some really big animals. Beautiful piece of work. Love quartz.
Thanks!
Another great video- very interesting - really enjoyed the arrowheads .All the Best from Canada- Paul the Nickel Guy.
Much appreciated! Thank you
Nice hunt. That was a great field to search in. Nice change of pace, so thanks!
Thank you Andy
I was the guy that hunted arrowheads and found coins in the fields lol,Best show! Paleo Pete
Cool vid, love the arrowheads. Always great videos from you guys.
Paul seems like a really nice guy, saw him in a Quarterhoarder video too. Hope he's in some more videos.
Thanks and greetings from Northern Sweden
/Mr.G
Thanks! Yeah he’s a good dude. Long drive. Hope to see him soon
i'd be out in that field again and again, great finds!
It’s hard to stop. That’s for sure
Kurt, dont stop keep hunting.. I'm so jealous man.. I cant imagine being in a field like that. I dont think I could leave.. thanks again..
Thanks Richard. Pretty crazy too see the end result from just one day
Kurt, some of the prettiest jasper I’ve ever seen is in Arizona. I’ve collected rocks all of my life, and many of the from Arizona, including arrowheads. I found many of them in the mountains between Tucson and Bisbee. I found a beautifully napped tomahawk head near Patagonia, next to an artesian spring about 3 1/2” down in the clay.
That’s awesome Thomas. The material out West is absolutely beautiful. All the best
That field never stops giving.... great video guys.
Hey Charlie! It’s absolutely incredible. Just think if they gave it a proper plow. It would be overload
I’m going to ask him, as a favor, to deep plow it next spring.
That is field is awesome. Great finds guys. Yeah and Paul killed it.
thanks Daniel
Paul is a great friend for sharing this site
I am freaking speechless, what a beautiful spear point.
Thanks Mike! It’s absolutely perfect
I started hunting in the late 1960s. I am over eighty now. Nothing is more disheartening than finding a great field that tractors and heavy machinery have been driving over for the last fifty-sixty years. Broken parts all over the place!
So true
Nice finds the best was the 10,000 point thanks!!!; )
Thanks Richard!
Awesome finds, what a great day! 👍
Thanks Mark!
i love this video it is awesome doing a great find here today
Thanks Cynthia
😀 That is so exciting! I think I’d be on my hands knees in such anticipation to find just one, 😜 Just goofing. I’ve never seen any in between the Finger Lakes area that I am in. Between metal detecting, magnet fishing, and now arrowhead hunting, there is plenty to have fun with. Just need the permissions. Thanks for sharing the fun, and the knowledge of the stone types while giving continued inspiration.
Haha! Thanks Robin. I’m sure there’s plenty places around the finger lakes. HH
Kurt those are some good points. Some of the round worked pieces could be scrapers but it don’t matter cause I love them all. Great video I enjoyed it
Thanks David!
I have a friend in southern CT who does very well in fields, especially along the CT river. And there's a ton of fields along the river that cough up similar finds.
Very cool non-detecting vid.
Thanks TB! Sounds like an awesome area for sure. It’s pretty wild finding native. It’s great during the hot months not to have a bunch of gear to lug around
Awesome finds 👍 my father and I would go arrow head hunting when the fishing was bad
Thanks! Great way to turn a day around
Some of those were incredible, that celt reminds me of the wheat grinding stone to make flour. Great finds guys. Happy hunting and have a great day
Now this is my type of hunting!!!
Thanks brother
Not really into Arrowheads, but I learned a bit on what to look for. Thanks for sharing. :)
The plows like breaking your heart and also making you have a good heartattack !!! The plow breaks many over the years and uncovers many too
Absolutely
At first I was thinking I wasn’t gonna enjoy the non-metal detecting video......but... you proved me wrong! I loved it! Awesome!
Thank you for the support Kyle. We enjoy all kinds of treasure hunting.
12:29 "Don't take any wooden nickels!" BAAAhahhahaha :-) P.S. Grog called and says he wants his arrowhead (spear point?) back. :-) AWESOME Paleo action!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha! Thanks
"That's what she said" lol enjoyed the vid and finds KK. Incredible 👍👍👍
Thanks Ozzy
Yeah that scary good to think 10,000 years OMG so awesome ... very cool watching what you guys come across ... Congrats Kurt and Paul ... I was lucky enough to find two points in hole after chasing metal targets one is gray one is quartz .... Take care
That’s awesome!
That is an awesome field. I have been arrowhead hunting more than detecting lately. I found a beautiful Kirk in a creek last weekend.
Thanks for a great video! At first when you said "No metal detectors today" I just about spit my Hortons out!! But wow, enjoyed every second, while I always keep my eyes peeled when I'm detecting fields, I've found no more than worked chips. Congrats on that huge Paleo! Man, what a honker, that's the equivalent of a State copper lol...So have you detected this field? or have plans to? Thanks again, great content, you guys always deliver. Scotty.
Thanks Scott. We have detected this field. Surprisingly have never found much metal of interest
Wow what a fun day you guys had. Unbelievable the history you find, congrats to both of you.
Thanks DD
ty kindly
I love watching boys flip out on rocks 😂 it’s so sweet and cute lol
Awesomeness. ..White Stone. ..Love native artifacts. ..Yeyeyeyeyeye. ..&()Congrats guys...
Thanks brother
Congrats young man! As a hunter myself, those were some nice finds!
Thanks Greg!
I sure do love arrowheads, and baseball cards. Nothing more American then collecting baseball cards and arrowheads. 🤘
Haha! My man. Absolutely
Awsome video id definitely like to so more arrowhead hunting videos
Thanks KK
Still with all the material you picked up, must have been a site for either making or hunting. The Paleo is spectacular! Nice find!
Thanks Mary. It’s just on the outskirts of a major village
Super finds. Thank you for sharing with us. Happy Hunting.
"Until nest week: help clean up the ground, dig it all, and take your arrowheads with you. Why?
Because all harrots mare... Somethin like that"
You're awesome Kurt, could tell it was a long day but great finds! Love from Cali
Haha! Thanks Cali
well done you got some lovely pieces from so long ago and so many different types of materials. even the jasper I wish I could find some here in england you look like you enjoyed yourself finding history great video thanks
Thanks Stephen
Awesome fields to search! So jealous!
Paul is very kind to share this site. Thank you!
Awesome hunt kurt! Love all the native artifacts. HH JOE.
I’ve found many hammered coins and medieval artefacts, but my ambition is to find a flint arrowhead. I am sooo envious. Slainte 🍻
Thanks Jim. They’re beautiful
I use a long handled dandelion digger. Works great. might be to short for taller people. When you are in Paleo country their knives were sometimes made of the larger flakes. Look for secondary chipping and see if the piece fits to your hand hold. Also watch for stones that have smooth surfaces.Might be a tool or game piece. Call it sugar quartz or sagar flint in Colorado also. Some of those pieces might be scrapers.
Thanks John. Definitely some scrapers mixed in. I should get a shot of Paul’s hatchet some day. It’s incredible
Awesome hunt for arrowheads!! And cool to see PA Paul out with you!! 👍
Thanks. Paul is a good friend
OMG ! What a great video with awesome finds ! Paul found a huge one ! Congrats !
Thanks Todd!
Nice find on the black piece. Tough to find big pieces with modern farm equipment. Not sure you have a paleo type but still a nice find. A good clue would be if it has lateral grinding near the base. Regardless it should look nice in a display case.
Now that the excitement has calmed down and if I had to give an honest accestment, id say Guilford Straight Base - Early Archaic 6,000 to 8, 000, there was Maccorckles and Lecroys found at same spot, im by no means an expert, my guess.
Very kool! At least both of ya got one keeper!
Thanks Sis
Wow that's some beautiful points!
Thanks
We've probably had the pleasure of watching this Ep. 10 times. It still takes our breath away, to see that black Spear Stone, come out of the ground. WOW!
Wow! Thank you
Looks like a great way to get outdoors! Great finds! Kurt, my Seeker 2 is amazing. Love the way it fits in my hand. And bright? WOW! Thanks for telling us about Olight

Arrowheads rock!! Literally! Great finds fellas!!
Hahaha! Thanks DD
this is what i neeeeed. would love to do a point hunt. Ever hear of anything around The Dena or AACo in general? Magothy Quartzite quarry flood field may be worth a look but IDK. I'm a complete amateur with a big interest in researching this stuff...just never went looking. Super cool stuff. happy to see another video so soon after the uk trip.
Thanks! Native Americans were everywhere. They were always close to a water source. This was a huge village at one point in time. The heart of it is covered in a new community unfortunately
The Hoover Boys Such a bummer to think stuff is lurking just below a driveway or backyard garden now. Haha.
Great video as always Kurt and some amazing finds, GL & HH , ATB Paul
Thanks Paul! All the best
Well that was different, and very enjoyable. 10,000 years old, that's crazy Kurt. Great finds all round. ATB MMMD
Thanks Max! ATB
Nice finds, it's tough finding a complete point so don't feel bad Kurt.
Thanks Bartley. Yes it is
