    This is one of my favorite vintage lenses (I own two). I was not aware that these were not radioactive though ...the glass on mine is kinda "yellowish" so I always assumed they were yellow-tinted (thorium) lenses.
    Anyhow, thank you for this tutorial. It might come handy in the future. I have only tried to dismantle and clean an old Helios 44 once which in my opinion is a great lens for a beginner to experiment (cheap, readily available everywhere and easy to dismantle lens). I used an ammoniacal base especially suitable for crystals, bright and glazed surfaces.
    It dries quickly but I might look up to some of the benefits of using ethanol instead.

      @Noealz  4 года назад +1

      Oh the lens is kinda yellowish I assume because of the leaded glass they used to use :)

    I love lens disassembly and cleaning optics, it's truly is quite meditative for me. At least until I start to fiddle around with the helicoid and inevitably end up incredibly frustrated trying to out it back together, lol.
    Also, I have some official Konica and Nikon lens repair manuals I purchased a while back and most of them indicate that the prescribed solvent for the Loctite glue they used on these is 100% pure methanol. Acetone works quite well, but I find that it can leave behind a film that sucks to clean up, whereas the methanol releases the adhesive much quicker with minimal mess. It's a bit more expensive but I found it to be worth it.
    I have a lot of old lens repair manuals on rolls of Microfiche Film. I've been meaning to scan them all to PDF and upload them to my Google drive. Whenever I get around to that I'll send you a download link for them if you'd like.

    You can do that way with all vintage lenses ? I am more interested by M mount lenses, it’s doable to ?

    • @Noealz
      @Noealz  4 года назад +1

      You can do with any vintage lens - but they are all built differently so they are opened differently : )

    Dude, I have the 50mm f1.4 and I took it apart, literally unscrewed everything down to the individual pieces because it was loose anyways. For the life of me, I cannot get the F**KER back together. There's these two metal tabs on the front half that I think are supposed to mate SOMEHOW with the rear half of the assembly, but it will NOT lock in place. Any suggestions?

    Question: What is the difference between Neon Noir and Cyberpunk?

    • @Noealz
      @Noealz  4 года назад

      cyberpunk is an ideology, neon noir is just a name to a style of high contrast with neon lights
