    Welcome to this First Class Full Flight video onboard the the silver bullet of the skit, the American Super 80! I might not have had the longest time in DFW and wanted to stay there forever, but it was time to continue with my journey back to Atlanta. The first officer was very nice to show me the cockpit and blare the stall warning device and a couple other things before departure. You can see he told the ground to keep the GPU in for another 10 min but took it out right after he said that haha! I love how the power switches off and on as well. He climbed on over to the captain window to open it up and was slamming on the outside of the cockpit having to yell over the noise to put the GPU back in! The aircraft was in great condition but did have some maintenance done back at ORD. I love the sound the forward cabin makes on the MD80 you can hear its a high pitched noise in the video. The seat itself I thought was still in good condition. It was very large with great leg space. The tray table is very flexible to move around and adjust for which ever position is better set if you want to push it out or pull closer. The flight crew was very nice and had a great attitude. They called you by your last name and made sure you were enjoying the flight. 10/10 if I could rate the service. As you could here we were delayed due to weather in between DFW and ORD so I ended up just rushing off the gate to see my S80 for ATL push back. I have been on over a 100 MD80's in my life and this so happens to be the first time I've been in First Class on them. I can say it is amazing. Best Domestic First Class out there in my opinion. Long live the mighty Maddogs!
    I hope that you enjoyed the video! I can't believe I have reached over 435 subscribers in just one year of this channel being started. Thank you everyone for the support and all the love.

    I knew that I wanted to be a pilot since I was 8 years old. 57 years later, I retired with 34 years of flying experience. It was a great career and I wouldn't wanted to have done anything else.

    i love chatting with the pilots before and after the flight. i would come on board with "hi guys" and they would stop to respond. after the flight i would tell them that i just love talking with them about my flight experience....great people!!

    I had a great experience talking to easyJet pilots a couple years ago. We were delayed whilst queuing to takeoff for an hour, and cockpit visits were allowed meantime. I was last to visit the pilots, because my seat neighbour was using a laptop and wouldn't put it away. But it turned out good because I was in the cockpit when the pilots received clearance to proceed. For a second I felt a part of the action.

    I’m doing the reverse of this trip (Chicago to Dallas/Fort Worth) on an AA MD80 in May next year to connect with a Qantas A380 to Sydney. Should be quite a contrast but I love the old MD80s. As someone noted, one of the safest aircraft around. They’re incredibly versatile and I think pretty much indestructible.

    There was a time when any airport you went to, DC-9s (MD-80) were everywhere on the field...thick as thieves....thanks for putting this up...Super aircraft.....Lot more wing flex now than there use to be in older airplanes like MD-80..

    Gate, taxing and take off took a long time, DFW is huge! It took over 20 Mings to get this flight airborne. It is so interesting because it used to be like every 45 mins that a flight would arrive and take off, way back when.

    34:11 nice view of the former Carswell AFB, where the Convair B-36 had its home base. It was constructed in the adjacent facility, now home to Lockheed-Martin I believe. (It's the airport below the lake, not the one in front.)

    This plane is depressing...
    On the inside it's your everyday yellowing plastic and cramped seats. On the outside it has a fat fuselage with small wings far back and the T tail. Looks just rugged and ucomfortable cattle wagon.
    But it's a god-damn icon I'll give it that.

    Seems taxiing at DFW and O'Hare takes forever....over half of video seems to be just taxiing. Then again ORD and DFW are among the world's busiest airports so it's not surprising the wait time in taxiing.

    • @bigstuff52
      @bigstuff52 7 лет назад

      What do you think they do it on purpose...? Nothing AA can do...When Chicago gets slowed down,everybodies release time is affected...

    • @MrFlyboy1313
      @MrFlyboy1313 6 лет назад

      The answer is they don’t want to keep those delayed planes at the gate blocking out the incoming planes that need those gates.It’s normally better to load them up and shove them off to a side taxiway.
