Heres the lore. Truedet and the Ten Dragons
In the land of Altherra, dragons were the rulers of the skies, feared by all. But Truedet, a young wanderer with a mysterious past, saw them not as monsters, but as majestic creatures deserving of respect. Legends spoke of a hidden valley where the Great Mother Dragon guarded her eggs, surrounded by her ten loyal children. No one dared approach, for the price was said to be death by fire.
Truedet, however, had a dream-to tame dragons, not for conquest, but for unity between humans and the powerful beasts.
    The Journey to the Valley
Truedet’s journey began with whispers in villages, clues in ancient texts, and guidance from those who had glimpsed the valley but never entered. The closer Truedet got, the more dangerous the terrain became. Forests were scorched black, the air grew thick with heat, and the distant roar of dragons echoed like thunder. Finally, Truedet stood at the mouth of the hidden valley.
The sight was breathtaking: a massive crater filled with vibrant greenery, dotted with shining pools of water, and in the center, a colossal nest surrounded by ten dragons of varying sizes and colors. Above them all stood the Great Mother Dragon, her scales shimmering like molten gold, her eyes sharp as blades.
    The First Encounter
Truedet knew approaching the dragons directly would be foolish. Instead, they spent days observing from the shadows, learning each dragon’s behavior. There was Velkar, the swift red dragon, who loved soaring through the clouds; Myrra, the sapphire-scaled dragon who controlled water; and Thonix, the hulking black dragon with a roar that shook the earth.
On the seventh night, Truedet decided it was time. Carefully, they crafted a melody using a bone flute, one said to have the power to mimic a dragon’s call. The haunting tune drifted through the valley, catching the attention of Velkar, the curious red dragon. Intrigued, Velkar approached cautiously, his massive eyes narrowing at the small human.
Truedet remained still, bowing slightly to show respect. Reaching into a satchel, they offered a bundle of charred meat-a delicacy to dragons. Velkar sniffed the offering, then snatched it, his growl softening. Trust was beginning to form.
    Taming the Ten
One by one, Truedet used patience, respect, and the melody of the flute to connect with each dragon. They understood that taming was not about control but forming a bond. Myrra, the water dragon, required Truedet to show courage by diving into a perilous pool she protected. Thonix tested their resolve with ear-splitting roars, but Truedet stood firm, earning his respect.
As days turned to weeks, the bond between Truedet and the dragons deepened. They played together, hunted together, and even began to understand one another’s unspoken language. The Great Mother Dragon watched silently from her nest, her gaze unreadable.
    The Final Test
When Truedet had finally earned the loyalty of the ten dragons, the Great Mother rose from her nest. Her wings blocked out the sun as she approached, her golden eyes blazing. She tested Truedet’s intentions with a single, terrifying question, spoken in a voice that rumbled through the earth:
“Why do you seek my children?”
Truedet bowed deeply, replying, “Not to conquer, but to learn. Not to control, but to protect. Humans and dragons can coexist. Let us prove it to you.”
The Great Mother stared for what felt like an eternity. Then, to Truedet’s amazement, she lowered her massive head, touching her snout gently to the human. The bond was sealed.
    A New Era
Truedet and the ten dragons became legends. Together, they protected Altherra from threats, both human and monstrous. Over time, villages that once feared the skies now celebrated the sight of dragons flying alongside Truedet, their partnership a symbol of unity.
The Great Mother Dragon, content with her children’s protector, returned to her nest to guard her eggs, trusting that when they hatched, they would find a world where humans and dragons could live in harmony.
And so, the wanderer Truedet became the bridge between two worlds, proving that even the fiercest of creatures could be tamed by respect, courage, and an unyielding desire for peace.
