I'll watch what ever you care to show, love your channel. Very refreshing to watch the family business and family activities. The land owners are very lucky to have your Dads keen perspective and environment dedication. No doubt it will look good or better when he's done harvesting. God Bless and a Very Merry Christmas.
Right On. The log site videos require a lot of time because Emerald and Jade have to leave the mill. We hope to incorporate more on site videos in 2024. Happy holidays…Boss Man.
Greetings from Slovakia, I learned a lot about the wood industry and forestry in the USA from your videos. I sent you a gift for Christmas from which you will learn something about Slovakia. I believe that the gift will reach you and make you happy. The forest seems very sparse to me, the stands are denser here. We still don't have the beetle that destroys oak stands in Slovakia. Merry Christmas to the entire Breon family.
I am an expert in the field of forestry and wood processing with appropriate education. I manage a forestry company, so I am very well versed in the issue. That forest is in a very bad condition
A science. Beauty within beauty. Understanding. Love of the ground. A tree that holds up the house. And the lumberman alone in the forest with a spitting chainsaw. Ripping. Thank you for our joists, for our firewood, for our children's toys that Gramps carved out in the back room. Peace on earth. Happy Holidays.
Interesting video on how you have to adapt to the weather to get things done with minimum damage. I appreciate the care that you show to the landowners property. Very professional. You asked what we are interested in for future videos. I particularly like the custom milling work you do for the flooring company, the restoration project, and others. I also like your new product introductions. Please show more of these unique projects and how you approach them. Thank you. Merry Christmas!!
Thank you for the comment. We plan to show many more of these videos in 2024. We also hope to get back to basics. There has been a major decline in the timber market. We hope to show our plan so others can do the same. Happy holidays…Boss Man.

Hi Emerald and Boss Man, beautiful up there. I like seeing the whole process of making lumber. From standing trees to the end product. Thanks for the hard work making all the videos. Merry Christmas!
Interesting new logging site. We bought our land in 1979 and moved a mobile home on the property while we built our house. in 1980 NH had a massive Gypsy month outbreak, they stripped just about everything bare, July looked like December. So far we have not had as severe a reoccurrence. We had a conventual logger with a skidder harvest the pines behind our house. Glad to see the "boss" being so careful. We ended up with almost all the standing hardwood damaged. Much later we had a thinning cut done in conjunction with a neighbor. Those guys used the whole tree harvester. Very little damage to standing trees although with a warm winter lots of mud.
I would enjoy watching the process from filling that big red Oak in this video to getting it down the mountain and you putting it on the mill. Basically start to finish you guys have a very merry Christmas.
Thanks so much for your ongoing videos and story telling about your lumber yard! I always enjoy learning more about your milling and maintenance. Most of all, I enjoy your family working together! Merry Christmas!
Ken it's great to have you show that forestry is as more about forest management than just cutting for profit. Em once again thanks for the informative video.
I would like to hear the boss man's advice on how to go about hiring/contracting a logger. What to look for, what to look out for, etc. I enjoy all of your videos. It is great to see the channel and the business growing. Thank you.
Thanks for the fantastic content Em! You are getting to be quite the master at it. Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas to you and the family! Hope next year will be even more exciting and profitable. TTFN.
Hi Emerald and Dad. Another interesting and great video. Its a shame bugs can do that much damage. The emerald ash borer killed a lot of ash trees here in central Ohio. I have a couple left to take down still. I pray you all have a wonderful and Merry Christmas. Last year I ask Santa for a nice gift and he put Broom Hilda under my tree!! Man did I try and get that "gift" returned quick! Thing is no one would claim her so I just put her out at the local Walmart!! Have a wonderful evening and weekend all.
I'm in Western Missouri... Messed up our area also 😭. I'm retired and I'm helping the neighbors with backyard nightmares 😳, ...lots of boys with chainsaws wacking down trees for obscene amounts of money... If it's too big for me I'm sending them to locally owned respectful businesses.
I'm glad to see the logs being sawn and used locally . Most of logs soft or hardwood go to Canada in the adirondacks. There use to be a dozen saw mills in or close to my town now there is three and they only run part time and one of them is owned by a canada firm. Keep up the good work stay safe.
I appreciate the bosses awareness of the integrity of the location and protecting the healthy trees during felling. I'm not aware of these responsibilities you mention but the logic is clear. I respect hard work and good work ethics. Get it
Agree with the other commenters, great looking site. Hopefully, you'll show us some of the cut timber at the mill so we can see if the moths affected it. Merry Christmas to all.
hello Emerald just a thought, have you ever thought about cutting out bowl blanks. the croch peaces that don't like split straight make perty grained bowls. there is plenty info on the net to show how to cut them out. like i said just a thought.
Well this was new... learning that slabs can be used at the logging site to firm up the base of the landing zone where logs are cut and stacked waiting to be hauled out. That is cool.
Great video. Sorry to see that amazing oak go, but happy you are going to save the lumber out of it. Reminds me of learning about all the chestnut trees dying around here, you know those loggers were grieving as they harvested all those logs. Was also the first time I had seen a corduroy road built, watching you build it with the help of power equipment makes you wonder how the pioneers built all those 100 mile corduroy roads by hand and mule when they were opening this country up.
I just discovered your videos. I am a beginning writer and I like to place characters in different jobs, events etc. this is helpful because I do not know about logging, except for a tv show from the '60s. So I like to learn as much as possible about the process. Thank you.
Hey lumber log yard. You young people really do put on very informational and interesting content is really nice to see that you’re expanding and staying with what you do and all in the family your mother and father raised you right and have nothing but to be proud of you, so for me, Rick, Here in Indiana to you all in Pennsylvania. I wish you a very merry Christmas and a healthy prosperous new year. I keep those videos coming. They’re getting better and better.
Good evening Boss Man and Emerald, using the slab wood to is an effective and cheap way to fix landing sites, I've seen this on lots of sites down here but there have been some that required large stone because of a regulation. Personally I like using the slabs. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! John Toccoa
Emerald Little Buddy, and Dad Boss Ken: another wonderful exposition, I have collected a few Hollow logs a couple seasons ago, had a pretty good flood down by the creek, gifted me few old root wads and racked out all the loose material along the banks dropping all manner of flat lime and sandstone "pavers" I've been slowly working into a patio out front. with the Indian summer we still have going, i may be able to reach the finish line before spring. fingers crossed.
Hey, so to be honest. I came by one of your videos, and for some reason now I'm hooked to the videos lol. probably the intro how you say ''log yard'' or whatever hah. I stick around, might learn something. I like to learn about things happening with trees, why certain trees are cut and some not etc. Also I like to know what causes the ''cat's paw'' figure. Is it when tree branches are cut and new little ones grow on it, that's what it looks like to me.
Well since you asked, and I know it has been suggested before, some drone shots would spice things up and add some variety in a way nothing else could, and obviously might be practical and helpful for you guys in other ways. Nice setups are well under $1k, would not take long to master. You could even wave goodbye as the drone soars to 400 ft, and scout sites that are otherwise inaccessible. Drones are inevitable for you guys, come spring you should put that near the top of the to do list.
You might have the Boss explain how he acquires timber to cut. Leases? And what the prospects are for continued availability. Your company is called "Lumber Capital." Are you in an area referred to as the Lumber Capital of PA?
She actually has a video on the history of the area and it's nickname as the lumber capital. It was made within the last 3 months I believe so should stick out by title and thumbnail.
When I was a kid they sprayed for those destructive pests, of course the environmentalists put a stop to that because the bugs were more important than the forests. I guess they were worried about the fish but it seems that might have been an excuse to push the agenda. Who knows how much valuable timber had been lost in the past 50 yrs since they stopped killing those monstrosities. Great video guys! Thanks for sharing.
Good opportunity to get some nice timber out of what would soon be waste trees. Maybe the slabs can keep you from falling through until it really freezes. Good luck! Happy holidays to you all!

The trees in this forest are managed: like now the dead ones are being cut out. A little more space lets the correct tree grow.
