    As you were talking about the mess that happens before Jesus gets here, it just made me think of the mad rush to clean my house before we have guests over. 😂 We're all stress cleaning and maybe tempers are short and the kids are whining it's just not a fun place to be. But as soon as our guests arrive, we are happy. We get to enjoy being with the people we love. We get to put all that stress out of our minds and just focus on our people.
    I'm so looking forward to Jesus coming again, and until he gets here, I'll continue to clean. 🧹

    When you noted that "it is our weakness that connects us to Christ", I thought of my son. He fights addiction every day, and while his weaknesses have taken him to dark places he still feels that connection to Christ. Suddenly I understood, and now I know how he remains connected. Thank you for that insight.

      I pray 🙏 for your son. I fought a long battle with addiction, and I found Christ in my darkest time. I learned he is so forgiving, and the strength I have now is because of him. I now have a testimony of the atonement of Jesus Christ. He paid the price for our sins, took upon Himself death, and was resurrected. I confessed that I am a sinner and that I was trying to find life in other people and myself. I acknowledged that He sent Jesus to die on the cross so that I can be saved from my sin and have eternal life. I committed to living for God instead of others. May God be with your son. I feel for him 😢

    Hi David and Grace, I've been listening to "Don't Miss This" since you all started with Emily years ago. I love you guys and am grateful for your dedication and spirit of sharing your scripture knowledge.
    I rarely post anything but I was inspired to share that many years ago when I was a teenager and before I ever read this scripture in particular, I heard the voice of Jesus speak to me. It was peaceful, loving, yet stern. The best way I could describe it was that it sounded like many waters. Like when you are on a hike next to a river close to a waterfall like at Doughnut Falls. It sounded like that water sounds.
    For the life of me I could not remember what he said but it was like two words and they made sense to me at that very moment. (In that time if my life I was learning how to read the scriptures and I read them a lot. I was in Seminary and I was reading and pondering Genesis for 30 minutes every night. I was also praying alot and felt very close to my Heavenly Father for the first time ever in my life.) Obviously, my biggest shock was not what he said but I was so shocked of how familiar the voice was to me. So I think what you guys are describing is correct but the description of the scripture is very acurate because when I read it for the first time, it described what I heard, perfectly. Rushing waters!

    Grace's phrase of 'actually' is the same as 'in truth' which makes her testimony current and relevant to me. Love you both!!

    This was one of the most powerful lessons I have experienced on your RUclips or podcast presentations. David, I especially felt your passion and love for the Savior. The spirit was strong. Thank you

    @squiresvi I wish I had listened to this a month ago. I usually listen after I read, but you have inspired me to read it "with imagination" and to "come to the throne room." I want to read it again now! Bro. Butler, your witness is magnificent. You two always bring me a feeling of lift, lightening, and joy. I love the way you present the gospel so joyfully and full of hope. This podcast today was exceptional!

    When you said "many waters"....I thought of Niagara Falls. It sounds powerful. It feels powerful, shaking the ground, even before you can see it. When you can actually see it, you think....Wow! that is powerful.

    Knowing all of this, let's say understanding it, helps in realizing all the chaos that is going on now is in His hands, that He is taking care of it while protecting us. I have known for a long time that any and all chaos in the world must take place and I do not have to feel scared nor worry about it. I just focus on Christ and follow His will and everything outside of the gospel I need not be overly concerned about, just enough to be of service when needing to help others. I also thank you for your definition of Apocalypse. So not what we all have been told or read.

    2:02 Another song that is SUPER good that goes along with this idea of anticipation is a song called The World Was Waiting by Ann Kapp Anderson!! the setting is a little boy who is asking his parents to retell the story of Christ's birth. heres the lyrics:
    "Oh, tell me tell me once again
    the story of His birth;
    How angels sang to shepherd boys
    great joy and peace on earth;
    how wise men dwelling in the East
    we're searching for the sign
    of the Messiah who would come to save mankind.
    The world was waiting, anticipating,
    The King of Kings, the Prince of Peace,
    the mighty God of earth;
    but in a stable, in borrowed cradle, the Savior came of low and humble birth.
    There was no room for them within,
    she bore Him in a stall.
    No royal robes or kingly bed;
    she wrapped Him in a shawl.
    She marveled at His tiny form,
    the wonder of His birth,
    and how this Babe would be the King of all the earth.
    The world was waiting, anticipating,
    The King of Kings, the Prince of Peace,
    the mighty God of earth;
    but in a stable, in borrowed cradle, the Savior came of low and humble birth.
    He came a baby in a stall
    to be the King of Kings!
    This baby would be Jesus Christ
    Whose name salvation brings.
    If we would have Eternal life,
    then like Him, we must be.
    And we will gladly follow Him eternally.
    Sing alleluia!
    The King of Kings, the Prince of Peace, the Mighty God is come!
    Sing alleluia!
    Messiah Jesus Christ our Lord is come!
    Alleluia!
    The world is waiting, anticipating,
    The King of Kings, the Prince of Peace,
    the mighty God to come;
    Sing alleluia, sing alleluia
    Messiah Jesus Christ our Lord,
    will come."

    Another great song that goes with this lesson and the idea of God’s faithfulness towards us is the old hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.” Carrie Underwood has a beautiful version of it with CeCe Wynans

    Water has the power to wear down or change even stone. A stubborn or wilful heart can be described as cold or hard. His voice (word of God) has the power to change that, as well.

    As I am listening, I am wondering what we would describe President Nelson as? How does his voice "sound", how do his eyes look? I can feel the love of God every time I look at him. It may help me to visualize what you are saying about Jesus Christ.
    Also, I love how Joseph Smith, and then the other apostles and prophets in The Living Christ describe Christ the same way. "His eyes were as a flame of fire, the hair of his head as white as the pure snow. His countenance shone above the brightness of the son and his was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying : I am the first and the last. I am He who liveth. I am He was slain. I am your advocate with the Father....".
    Thank you for helping me to think and understand deeper

    So many times I wish that there was a transcript of your podcast/youtube lessons. So I could go back and reread (I remember more when I can see it and write it). There are always so many great take aways and if I was sitting and listening with one and paper that would be ideal but most often I am driving when I get to listen to the podcast in its entirety.
    Thank you for always sharing such great content. You have helped me fall in love with so many parts of the scripture stories and teaching.

      If you are annoyed by others’ habitual mannerisms, as this one you pointed out, I suggest that you ignore them. Asking someone to change a small thing like this is really unfair, in my opinion.
